Legal Hold - Cold storage
Ability for a user to delete file from trash but file is still retained (if under legal hold and/or retention policies)
0 votesThis is not planned at the moment due to the resource-intensive request against our other roadmap priorities. I appreciate this use case and your sharing this feedback.

Allow third party mobile apps to "Use EMM" for login instead of direct Box API
Instead of having users log into Box from other third party apps, have them use the auth from Box EMM. This allows Box to whitelist EMM for logins. Box should know for all integrations that the login from the 3rd party app is from a trusted device (since EMM is on it)
1 voteWe’ve explored this idea, but it does not appear technically feasible at this time. We are happy to revisit with additional demand.

Outlook: Option for Attaching Actual File (Not the Shared Link)
Allow user to attach actual file (not the shared link) when using the 'Attach from Box' button within Outlook (via Box for Office).
Currently when a user uses the 'Attach from Box' button in Outlook, they're only able to add the file's shared link to the email. There are various scenarios where users (still) need to attach the actual file instead.
3 votesThis does not align with our product philosophy. Users can attach a shared link with download permissions.
I would be interested to hear the use case for attaching files directly to the email.

Thank you for your submission. However, this does not have enough demand in order to be prioritized.

This is an interesting feature! However, it is for power users and does not have enough demand or impact in order to be prioritized.
We will reconsider with additional feedback.

Thanks for the submission. I’m not sure we understand the user problem. Please add your feedback in the comments and we will reconsider.

Clarify in collaborators list which users are active and inactive
Our admin accidentally transferred data from an account to a deactivated account causing collaborators to temporarily lose access.
She pointed out that she could not tell from the list of collaborators which users were deactivated that have something like that would have prevented her from making that mistake.
7 votesThank you for the request! If we hear this from additional users, we will consider this again.

Allow users to determine when task assignees are notified of assigned tasks today).
As opposed to non-configurable email reminder.

Email Notifications for Expiring External Collaborators
In addition to the owner of the folder receiving a notification that a collaboration is expiring, the user who initiated (invited) the collaborator, and the collaborator themselves receive notifications.
14 votesWhile we like this idea, it is not currently planned at this time.

Ability to change user external collaboration role by API
Support divestitures and enabling default setting to enabled. We have folks doing this task which should be easily automated.
1 voteThis suggestion is not under consideration for the current or future roadmap. It would be great if the team can get more details about this request.

Email Notification Frequency Options - Immediate, Daily Digest, Weekly, etc.
Box currently provides email notifications as options for end users to 'subscribe' to email notification alerts when content is uploaded, downloaded, previewed, deleted, or commented on. Box currently only provides one 'type' of email notification: instant (which includes automatic batching when events occur within a few minutes of each other).
REQUEST: Add the ability for users to choose the 'type' of email notification they'd like to enable at the folder level (via Folder Settings):
--Real-time emails (what we already have today)
--Daily digest (1 email per day)
--Additional weekly option (optional)31 votesThank you for the feedback, this is something we would like to do in the future, but don’t currently have a timeline planned for this.

Require Editing ONLY via Office Online for Certain Files (disable Box Edit at the file level)
Use Case: I have a spreadsheet that I know will be highly collaborative; as such, I want to prevent people from being able to use Box Edit with the file and I want to require that they edit it using Office Online due to enhanced co-authoring, etc.
Basically, this would be a 'only allow edits using Office Online'-type setting at the file level.
