Enable users to select alternative applications to open files with in Account Settings\Integrations, other than MS office - such as for imag
The application used to open some filetypes is 'hard-wired'. Users are not offered option to select the application 'to open with'. For example, images can only be opened in MS Paint when opened from Box on Web.
Box should either A) offer the option to select an application to open with (for applications where viewer shows content, or B) should refer to the PC/laptop's Settings\Default apps and use that application
For example, Box displays a preview of an image (jpg/png) selected, but when Open button selected, only MS Paint is offered to open the file. The world has moved on since MS Paint..... the default application for images should better be MS Photos if installed, which Microsoft says is "seamlessly woven into the fabric of Windows 11"
But, ideally, for any application that Box is able to preview, it should be possible to open the file in the application that is set as default in Windows Settings

Hide unknown/system access record from Contents Insight activity
To avoid end user confusion, we’d like to request that the activity on content insight only focuses on identified user-related action to the end user. The current activity includes some system related and/or unknown access (not box users), however, this may cause user confusion. Preferably, we’d like to show those systems related and/or unknown access to admin/co-admin only on the Admin console.

Allow Co-Admins to View Only Legal Holds
I'd like to see a checkbox for Co-Admins to see only the Governance tab with only the Legal Holds sub-tab.
Currently you can grant a Co-Admin permission to view and/or edit policies, which gets you close, but it also includes platform and retention policies at this time. It also inexplicably grants them access to a version of the Content tab I've never seen before.
We have a whole department for managing legal holds and conflicts. They have no need to see the data, they just need to know the name of the person or folder that needs to be put on hold.

Thumbnail resizing
You've eliminated resizing buttons for thumbnails. Customer chat referred to this as an "enhancement". That's like calling a building fire "heating enhancement". Customer service stated that window resizing makes the thumbnails bigger. That's not true. Even if it WERE true, it's much more convenient to resize thumbnails in whatever window size works for me. Maybe you think eliminating the plus and minus buttons and the slider between them provides a less cluttered, more elegant look. I don't. Please restore this useful and needed feature ASAP.

Grant an admin access to all folders with one click.
I would like a way to easily grant an admin access to all folders instead of having to add them to each root folder one by one.

Owner off documents/folder can set it to be edited with online apps only
Allow anyone who creates a folder or document (not just the company/enterprise) to set if a document can be downloaded, or if it is editable only in the online version (ie: Microsoft office online). Being able to download, edit, and save causes a lot of problems with different versions coming into existence! We have box drive, box edit, box for outlook, etc enabled, and it's causing problems for multi-user documents.

File Request should be back to the original page after uploading
When multiple files are uploaded one by one (e.g. with different metadata), users need to visit the url every time upload completes. It would be time-saving if it goes back to the original page after completion of upload

Extend Developer Token for Apps that Integrate with Box.com, the Current Toke has a Limit 2 Months
Please add a new feature that allows us to change the expiration date of the Developer Token for apps that integrate with Box.com.
We are currently using Splunk to collect logs from Box.com, but the token expires every 60 days, which is a ridicules short amount of time, and there is no option to extent it to a 365 days or 6 months, if we like.
Please add this option, it is a pain to have to renew the token every 60 days. I have projects and other things that I need to work on, I should have to be renewing a token every 2 months.
Thanks in advance.

Increase maximum image size for branding a File Request to above 1 MB
Upload limit for Box File Request Company Logo Branding is only 1 MB. This is way too small when the average file size of a smartphone mobile phone camera picture is about 3MB, LinkedIn allows 8 MB and Google allows 5 MB.

Solution: Literally just copy how Google Forms does it...........

File size upload limit - Option to choose any file size from 1MB - 150GB
I am suggesting a file size upload limitation setting to be lower than the existing 2GB.
The reason why is because some companies who are hyper sensitive to malware and virus issues want the ability to deep scan EVERY file uploaded into Box. Currently, deep scan is only able to scan files that are less than 200MB in size. This is a gap that can be solved by reducing the maximum file upload size into Box to 200MB.
While this greatly restricts the size of files being uploaded into Box, it gives the customer an option to choose one over the other. Reputation scan works for files of any size but for those customers wanting to leverage deep scan, restricting the upload limit of 200MB assures all files will be scanned.

Grid View search results are now severely limited
I have discovered that while searching in Grid View, the page will only load a certain number of results, and after that it will not load anything else. It will only load more results when switching back into List View.
This issue seems to have just started after a new update as I have spent the last 4 years with no problems searching in Grid View. I'm hoping this can be fixed very soon because I used to brag about the great searchability of Box folders, and this is now seriously damaging my efficiency in searching.

Grid View - Sorting After Searching
When searching through our folders we will always use Grid View for the sake of seeing the preview images to determine which file we are looking for. However, after numerous discussions with the Box Support team, I was told this wasn't a bug, but how the feature is intended, which is absolutely shocking to me. Why does List View searching work fine, but Grid View does not?
Upon entering an invoice number and searching for it, if we select to see the most updated files the search terms completely reset and we see every single file within our Box account. If we select the updated sorting option and we search for the invoice again, this resets the sorting option and we're back to the Relevance sorting option. The only way we can search for something WHILE maintaining our search terms or the sorting option is to switch to List View and after completing our search switch back to Grid View to see the previews.
This workaround is time consuming and frustrating. So, please, add this feature in. I don't see any reason why this isn't already a feature considering this all works fine in List View, but for some reason not in Grid View.
Reply to admin:
I'm not sure if the message got through to you since it was a no reply email, but it did say to respond to the email with feedback. However, I haven't heard anything since, so I figured I'd post the reply I sent in the email here as well just in case.
This is really the best way I can explain it. I can send a video attachment or the ticket numbers from support if that will help, but to try to clarify, no the sort option does not work with grid view. If we search for an invoice with grid view on, it will show up with several items under the sort option "Relevance." I change it to "Updated" and the search terms are reset, and I see everything within our box account, not what we were searching for. This doesn't happen with list view. If I tried to search again in Grid View after I've changed the sort option to "Updated", the sort option will reset and it will be sorted by "Relevance" again.
So, specifically the drop down menu for "Relevance" and "Updated," that is straight across the screen to the left of the grid view/list view button, does not seem to be working at all specifically in grid view mode only.
Hopefully this helps clarify things, if not let me know if I can send video attachments or if you can check these attachments out in one of the previous support tickets I've sent. Thank you.

Rollup secret for OAuth2 with client credentials.
Please provide a way to update client_secret without any custom app service impact.
With the current interface, issuing a new secret invalidates the previous one.
Periodic updating of secret is a security best practice, but this is not possible with client credentials.1 vote -
Transition from Sandbox to Production
When transitioning from the Sandbox to the Production environment, a tool to automate the transfer of all configuration settings (and relay settings) from the Sandbox to Production would be very helpful. It would also help to prevent errors that can occur with a manual transition.
