sort colaborators list attached to a folder by their last name
As a teacher I add students to my folder as collaborators. If I want to make sure they are all in, I read my enrolment which is in sensible alphabetical order and have to check each name presence in "share list" in Box which is unsorted. This algorithm is O(n^2). If Box "shared list was sorted" it would be O(2*n). For 20 students that is difference between 400 and 40 compares. --thank you [add new category-- Usability]

One-Click shared link generation as Enterprise setting
The recent change to Box sharing means that you now have up to 3 clicks to get a shared link on your clipboard - click Share, then toggle the link on, then copy to clipboard. This annoys our users, who liked the old way, where clicking Share would automatically generate the link.
I think this change was motivated by feedback like this, where enterprises that choose to default to People With the Link permission sometimes end up with a lot of accidental open links:

Update billing contact when changing Primary Admin
When updating your primary admin it would be helpful to be prompted to review your accounts billing contact details. This is to avoid unnecessary confusion regarding renewals and to ensure that Box always have the right contact details for billing communications.

Force logout of Box Drive
Allow at the enterprise level to force logout box drive after a certain amount of time.

With Box SDK for Salesforce, currently, in order to re-associate a given folder ID with a different SFDC ID, you can delete the associated FRUP ID in the SFDC UI via the FRUP report (https://community.box.com/t5/Integrations-Troubleshooting/Generating-a-FRUP-Report-in-the-Box-Salesforce-Integration/ta-p/53772) and then call createFolderAssociation() to re-map. It would be helpful to have an API call for the 1st step of deleting the FRUP record in SFDC

Sort underscores consistently
We would like for Box to sort files and folders the same as our computers. Right now, files and folders with an underscore at the beginning of the name are sorted at the end, but our computers sort them at the beginning.

box sync
The company I work for would love to keep the box sync app running for our computers as it is a real convince to only sync the files the designers are working on at the moment and allows us to control what to work on and not have to search through the whole box drive to find the one file every time to work on.

Version control - multiple uploads of the same file
Person A uploads file 1 then person B uploads a new version file 2 as a separate file instead of using the upload new version feature. Same thing for person C and D with files 3 and 4 with 4 being the latest. Any editor should be able to select these multiple files and merge them into one where the files are autosorted according to date. So one file with file 1 as the file name but the contents show file 4 as the latest and if you check version history, you'll see files 1, 2, & 3.

how to unselect is not intuitive
If I have selected a file, to see its details etc. it's not obvious how to unselect it so I can go back to viewing the folder details.
I tried clicking on the whitespace (windows analogy) but it did nothing. After some random clicking about I found, to deselect I must click the "xxxx is selected" text at the top of the page. This doesn't seem intuitive. Perhaps adding a "cancel" cross next to it, similar to the "clear" buttons in search boxes would provide a clue.1 vote -
Event Logs: Tell the full story of what happened
The Box Event Logs are crucial to finding out what occurred while users were logged in to the application.
However, there are many gaps in the data that if cleaned up would provide better quality data for end users.I work with many companies that actively use your tool and would like to be able to tell a full story as to what their users were doing while logged in.

Ability to upload a new version file with a Box Note.
Allow existing files to be uploaded with a different file type for next version (e.g. existing word file can get uploaded with a box note for a new version).

make the current page more obvious in the ppt preview panel
In the (ppt) preview the current page in the left panel has a rather innocuous grey border that is difficult to spot, so it's too easy to loose track of which page I'm looking at in the overall document.
It would be better if it used a brighter accent colour, or maybe change the colour of the entire whitespace around the current page.

Box Passcode Screenshot Issue Resolution
On the Box Android App when you set a passcode it does not allow you to take a screenshot of any document. You have to go remove the passcode to take the screenshot and then go back and set it again.
This is beyond tedious and unnecessary and some other workaround to be able to do both has to be given. I want to have the ability to have security (passcode) and take screenshots.1 vote -

We have a user group that wants to be able to @mention each other to take action related to specific points in a document connected with the @mention.

Set cookie to remember which Box enterprise the user last signed in as
The Box web app should set a cookie in the user's browser to remember the Box account they last signed in as, and take them directly to the SSO (or Box login) page for that enterprise, without the three intermediate steps where the user has to click "Not a part of External Org?", then enter their email address, then click Next, and only then get to their SSO screen.
This is an issue that often comes up when collaborating across enterprises.
