Advanced Box search capabilities: Being able to search by Creator, Co-owner or Editor
We believe that there are some key data elements that should be filters in the search (and are collected by Box so they should be searchable) and hope to see them in the future. The main one is the "creator" since the "owner" is the only filter that allows you to determine who created the content. Since our Box instance is configured in a way where BoxAdmin owns all of our content, BoxAdmin is also the "owner" of everything. This makes search useless when someone is looking for content that they created.

Copy collaborator access when copying folders
When copying a collaborated folder structure to a new location, users should be given the option to apply all the collaborations of the original to the copied structure.

Hide or disable unavailable options for non-primary admins
The interface for secondary admin accounts is extremely confusing. It should at minimum have the SSO section disabled with a note explaining that only the primary admin account can modify it, or even better display the settings but greyed out. Having an active button to initiate SSO configuration for an organization that already has SSO enabled made me worry that SSO had broken in some way, or that our Box configuration was in an inconsistent/unstable state at risk of breaking if I made any changes.

Allow Enterprise Event API Endpoint to access 7yrs worth of data to match the activity reports provided by the web app
Enterprise Events API endpoint only allows retrieval of events up to one year back. Activity reports in Box go back 7 yrs. Events contain a lot more useful data than activity reports so the request is to match the retention period between the two so the same amount of data can be collected via the API or web application.
10 votesBox does not currently plan to extend the lookback period fo Enterprise Events.

"Non-private custom URL" language is wrong
The new language around custom URLs is wrong. In link settings the checkbox reads: "Publish content broadly with a custom, non-private URL."
If I understand correctly (and I really think I do) how broadly the content is published is 100% controlled by the "People with the link / People in your company / Invited people only" setting in the prior screen.
Checking the box to create a custom URL does NOT publish the content broadly if a restricted setting is used, and does NOT make the URL "non-private".
This setting should be labeled with plain speech that doesn't imply anything beyond what it does: create a custom URL for this link.

Apply policies to duplicate files
Identify duplicate files in Box, and apply any policies in place onto all duplicates
9 votesWill need to understand the use case more (e.g., examples of duplicates to understand customer’s definition of a duplicate, how a duplicate can be created, etc.).

Add "Do not notify" to "Share this folder" dialog box
When inviting users to collaborate in a folder, it would be helpful to add a check box to Not Notify the users.
Larger folders can cause a lot of noise as users are added to a folder.
There are times the collaborators may need to be removed, then re-added to a folder - this generates confusing emails.7 votes -

Blank space on right side when browser window is narrow
In the browser interface, since around October 2019 for me, if you open a new Box window with a width of about 1200px or less, there is a totally blank area on the right side of the window where the sharing/detail panel would normally be. You have to click the black arrow to show the sharing/detail panel, and then hit it again to hide the sharing/detail panel, only then do the file details use the entire window width for display.

Enhanced Reporting on Folder Growth
It would be advantageous to see what folders are growing in content from custom periods. This will allow to not only run some analytics on the usage but also ensure that users are storing content in the correct locations.

git-like ‘RAW’ mode for Box Notes
When I have a Boxnote with a trailing backslash (’\’) a copy-and-paste into an xterm (Linux X11, Mac OS Xquartz), it converts the backslash to a control character.
When I copy a Boxnote with a backslash I get the following:
“”“
!/bin/env bash
echo “Hello World!” \
<A0>“The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog”
“”“And the string ‘<A0>’ is highlighted.
It appears to me that Boxnote is interpreting a backslash at the end of a line as a ‘backslash<A0>’ when copy-pasted into an Xterm using vim. I tested the placement by putting a backslash in the middle and it did not make any alterations.
I attempted to use a backslash-space-at-the-end to see how that would work. I received:
“”“
echo “ “ <A0>
<A0>“blah”
“”“For grins I tested in Mac OS Terminal; it does not have the same issues as XQuartz (X11) Xterm. However, I want to copy-and-paste into a Xterm session to a remote server.

Automated Set of Subfolders
I'd like the same set of subfolders to be created automatically for every matter (parent folder) I create, so i don't have to constantly re-create the subfolders.
