Add Content Classification as a 'Then take this action' Option for Sharing / Upload / Download Policies
Right now, the Upload, Sharing, and Download policies have various options in the 'Then take this action(s)' section of the Policy.
REQUEST: Add ability to use Content Classification as part of the 'Then take this action(s)' section.
1 voteWill need to understand the use case more, as now classification / metadata can be set at the folder level to cascade down.

Expose EXIF Metadata in the Box Webapp when Media (Photo, etc.) is Uploaded via Box Mobile App
Currently we do not expose media EXIF metadata (location info, camera type, etc.) for files uploaded to Box using the standard Box mobile apps (we do for media uploaded through Capture though).
This request is to provide a similar experience like we've already implemented with Capture.
5 votesThis feature is not planned for 2019.

Error Messaging - Update 'File Type Not Supported' Error Message to Be More Specific When the Error is Not Related to File Types
This is a request to update error messages for Box Edit to be more specific.
Currently, the red bar that says 'Box Edit does not support this file type' appears for a variety of reasons not limited to just errors due to file type incompatibility. Users could see that error message when trying to use Box Edit with a PowerPoint, Word, or any other supported file type.
This error also occurs when the Web App is having issues connecting to Box Edit on the actual computer and in other scenarios that are entirely unrelated to file types.
For this reason,…

Thank you for this suggestion. It is a niche request and I am not sure which problem it solves. We will reconsider with additional use case and demand info.

HD Video Preview: Allow User to Download the Lower Quality (720P, 480P, etc.) Renditions of Video Files
With HD Preview, users can choose the quality of the video in the Preview (based on network/bandwidth speed, etc.), but users cannot download those downsampled/lower quality 'renditions'.
REQUEST: Allow users to download the lower quality renditions of video files on Box. For example, I upload a 1080P file, and I can choose to Preview the video in reduced 720P or 480P quality, and I can also choose to download those same renditions if I'd like. Think of it like adding a 'which quality/size output would you like?' option added after clicking 'download' for a video file.

Providing a way to create a copy of an HD video, but at a lower quality so that it is easily downloadable is a low priority for the team.
It’s a niche use case at the moment and there’s a workaround (use a tool to downscale the video and upload that in addition to the HD video into Box).

Account Deactivated Message
We would like custom deactivated messages to redirect users to our helpdesk.
Current:
"Your account has been deactivated. Your administrator has deactivated this account. Please contact your administrator at EMAIL"Proposed:
"Your account has been deactivated. Your administrator has deactivated this account. If you think this was a mistake, please contact the Company Helpdesk."3 votesWe are not prioritizing custom messages for in app pop-ups at the moment. This is an edge use case, resource-intensive, and has a low ROI for the majority of our users. We will let you know if anything changes.

Link to directly open file in Box Edit
We would like to generate a shared link that automatically opens a file with Box Edit
1 voteThanks for your note!
This runs against our design philosophy of the Web App experience where everything can be achieved in the browser.

Open Shared Link Controls: Add "Default" option for 'download' permissions on Shared Links
Example: Disable 'download' permissions on all shared links by default, but allow users to re-enable 'download' permissions on a link-by-link basis.
Allow admins to default the "Let link viewers" option in Content & Sharing in Enterprise Settings. Currently we can restrict or allow this feature, but we cannot set the default option like we can we shared link access levels.

Change wording of a shared file to a more specific title other than "Shared"
When a Shared Link is created, the file bar in the Web App shows the term "Shared".
It would be beneficial if this showed the specific nature of the shared link, for example instead of "Shared" the "Share" button would change to "In Your Company", "In This Folder", "Everyone".
2 votesThis is not currently planned. We will reconsider this with additional demand.

Direct Integration with the Microsoft Project Desktop & Online Apps
Users using these applications would like to leverage a native Box integration (similar to what already exists in Word/Excel/PowerPoint via Box for Office and the native Box for Office Online integrations).

Integrate iOS 9 PDF Markup feature with Box iOS app and/or Capture app
There is an iOS 9 feature, Markup, which is currently not available from within Box app. This iOS 9 feature would allow any user to open a PDF from the Box app and provide the ability to annotate, markup, and sign.
2 votesWe will consider supporting Box annotations as those will remain with the document across all Box services.

"Failed logins" on Enterprise Settings should clear the number of failed login when a user logins successfully
Currently, the number of failed login piles up even after a user logins successfully. It's strange, so it should be cleared when a user logins successfully.
1 voteThis is a reasonable request, however we do not have enough user demand to prioritize this feature.
-
"Save files to device" settings to separate for Box Capture
Currently, "Save files to device" settings on Enterprise settings affect both Box Mobile App and Box Capture. However, we want to do the settings separately.
1 voteThis is currently not planned, but we will consider with additional customer demand.

Allow Auto-Provisioning from Box Sync App
Currently, users who get Box Sync pushed to their computer (so they see the pop-up Box Sync login page) but haven't gone to the webapp to auto-provision their account end up not being able to log into Box Sync as the Sync login flow does NOT support auto-provisioning.
Request: Allow a user to auto-provision their account from any endpoint, including Box Sync.

Collaborator Expiration Email: Provide Link to Relevant Documentation
Currently, the email that users receive when a collaborator's access to a folder they own is expiring soon does not provide any relevant links to Box Community documentation explaining collaborator expirations, how to extend them, etc. This creates user confusion as to 1) why the collaborators are expiring, and 2) how to extend the collaborator's access to the folder.
2 votesThank you for the feedback. While we understand your request and agree that additional information in the email would be valuable, this feature is not on our roadmap at this time. Should that change in a future, we’ll post updates on this thread.
