Provide Tutorials on Login Page
It would be nice to provide links to tutorials or resources on the login page for non-managed users. The biggest hurdle to using Box with non-managed users is their frustration with login process and getting a hang of the product. Having easy access to basic tutorials would be beneficial to non-managed users and those attempting to help the non-managed users.

Default Column Size for all Folders
Currently the default column size in Box Drive for the Name column is very small and users have to resize the name column in each folder. Is there a way to apply a default column size for all folders in Box Drive for all users?

Show date in the file area
In the file area, the most recently uploaded files are shown with a date of yesterday or today. Unfortunately, there is no current date shown on the page for reference. This seems like an easy fix.

Report of folders with no content
Need a report that shows all folders with no content inside. Also need to see the date last modified, and the users associated. Reason being, we need to clean up and archive appropriately for long term scalability. This is specifically related to the salesforce integration.

Autodesk Integration
It would be great if customer can choose Box as file storage for Autodesk instead of Autodesk Drive

box for outlook
Box for Outlook needs to support moving multiple emails to a box folder. Right now, I can only file an email to box one at a time, and the button is greyed out when I have more than one selected. Also ability to show some box folders in Outlook and drag and drop to those folders.

Format Event Stream Event Types on Box.dev
On box.dev, please format the available event types for the event stream in a more readable format. Descriptions for the event would also be helpful.

Backup Box Notes
I would like to have the ability to create a backup of my Box Notes or at least label version history (e.g. add a "v1.2" tag at a certain point in history).
I have tried using the Copy feature to copy the Box Note, but the copy does not retain the comments, annotations, or history.
I have tried copying the content into Word to no avail.
And there is no download button for Box Notes.7 votes -
View notification activity for items in the item properties details
When viewing the properties of an item, there should be an option to view a history of notifications that were triggered for that item. This would allow people, such as an uploader, to verify that the intended collaborators are receiving the information about the upload, and take action if the notifications are not triggered.
Potentially having an item saying something like "notification suppressed" for those who have the options disabled or if the folder settings are defined to disable notifications would be useful as well.

Custom link URL sensitive content warning is misplaced
Under the checkbox to set a custom URL there is this warning: "Custom URLs should not be used when sharing sensitive content."
Custom URLs are not the problem! Anyone who guesses a custom URL and is thereby able to access it already had permissions needed to access it.
The warning should be "'Anyone with the link' should not be used when sharing sensitive content" and it should be in the prior popup.
Meanwhile, when a user has created a restricted link and then comes here to make a custom URL, the existing warning creates needless Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt in…

"Non-private custom URL" language is wrong
The new language around custom URLs is wrong. In link settings the checkbox reads: "Publish content broadly with a custom, non-private URL."
If I understand correctly (and I really think I do) how broadly the content is published is 100% controlled by the "People with the link / People in your company / Invited people only" setting in the prior screen.
Checking the box to create a custom URL does NOT publish the content broadly if a restricted setting is used, and does NOT make the URL "non-private".
This setting should be labeled with plain speech that doesn't imply anything…

Disable File Request Feature in Enterprise Settings
Disabling the File Request feature in enterprise settings should be offered to Admin's of an enterprise that want to restrict any unknown collaborators from uploading content.

symlink support
Would be most excellent to add support for symbolic links in uploads 🙏
Motivation
We archive and share private pre-releases of iOS frameworks on Box. These frameworks inherently contain symbolic links. So when they're downloaded, the symbolic link pointing to the true header directory is borked and Xcode is unable to compile the given framework. On the plus side, lack of this support is good incentive for us to move to a better distribution system for these frameworks.
See details on community ticket for current Box symlink behavior details:

Add support for File name sensitivity
Box currently doesn’t support the notion of file sensitive file and directory names like Linux does, so backups to Box, for example with rclone, lose similarly named files that only vary in case.
For example, you can only have File1.txt and file1.txt, but no both in Box.
In comparison, there’s no such limitation in Google Drive and Linux file systems, for example.
Please add support for file name sensitivity.

Ability to trigger multiple workflows
“Lets put it like this, if you have the functionality to split workflows based on different files in 1 folder, people here would want to switch from Sharepoint to Box ?. It is currently the key reason to stay with Sharepoint as far as I’m made aware of.”
Basically, the customer wants to be able to trigger multiple workflows within one folder, but only on some files for each workflow. Currently they could achieve this through metadata, but this would not be contained to the folder.

Cross-platform Box Drive with multiple accounts needed
I realize this has been asked for in the past, but dismissed without much explanation of why it is "not planned." I'm the admin of a Box enterprise account. Co-admins in our enterprise org require user-level file access to perform their job duties. While our corporate policy does permit employees to use their Box accounts for personal data, there are numerous issues with this:
1) I travel frequently, and need offline file access, from my computer and devices; can't do that if I have to log out and back in.
2) Box Drive on mobile devices is not particularly useful…6 votes -

Allow the use of Linux devices as approved devices.
We had Linux based user using Box web console and as of the July update, they are no longer able to access Box. I would like to see Linx OS be added to the approved Operating Systems list in the Admin Console for enterprise settings.
