1. Improve management of pending invitations via API

   As we continue to build and customize the collaboration mechanism we found it difficult to manage pending invitations. When calling your API api.box.com/2.0/folders<folder_id>/collaborations it returns approved collaborators in the “accessibleby” object but when it return PENDING collaborators the “accessibleby” object is null, but there’s status “pending” on this collaborator. We would imagine it would capture the email address of that pending collaborator. Seeing this is capable in your public domain to show the pending collaborator with an email address would be very useful to create modules to manage pending collaborators (e.g. resending the invitation, update the email address, etc..).

   The temporary solution that was offered:

   1) create our own database to manage and capture external emails that were sent invitation to collaborate

   OR

   2) query the event logs to find those external emails.

   It doesn’t seem to be very efficient for us to adopt these solutions for the interim when BOX’s API already aware of the email value and Box has the mechanism to manage these pending collaborators and move them to approved once they have a profile in Box.com. This will also help reduce traffic and processes if Box can capture this detail in the collaboration dataset.

2. Improve annotations for Box Previewer UI element

   One of the main feature of our proof-of-concept utilizes Box’s concept of collaborations. We want to demonstrate beyond the capability of the basic file/folder sharing by utilizing the Box Previewer UI element and enabling the annotation feature. The annotation is such a great feature to enhance business and client relationship in the digital space. We implemented this feature however we found there are some challenges and we are hoping Box can help us find a solution to create a better experience.

   1. We were able to activate the annotation but only within app users. Both our employee entities and customer entities are able to share and view these annotation. When it requires a non-app user to see these annotation (e.g. customer sharing an annotation with a managed-user created from Box.com) those annotation are not viewable by managed users and they cannot make further annotation to the same document. We are really hoping that the annotation feature in the previewer will come out of beta and be implemented in the public Box.com domain for all to use. This would complete the full user experience that we are hoping for.

   2. The highlighter, pen and comment bubble is a great start in annotation tools, however, we think that these tools can evolve a bit more with some more choices. Having control on color, pen style and perhaps dropping larger “sticky” notes to help readers to see these annotation more vividly and the ability to have finer control on how users annotate would enhance the experience to digitally markup a document with ease. You can also see with only one choice in color, it conflicts with the stardard black colored text of the document.

   One of the main feature of our proof-of-concept utilizes Box’s concept of collaborations. 3. Removing files from a single page of a multi-page folder shows confusing message

   After deleting all items from one page (of multiple) of a Folder’s content, the page says “There are no items in this folder.”

   This is not accurate since there are other pages of content within the folder.

   Can this be changed as it can be confusing?

6. Choose upload folder for each files by Box for Outlook

   When uploading and attaching files by Box for Outlook, we can't choose some folders each files. Therefore, we can't user Box button and we had to upload by hand.
   My customer request is to choose upload folder for each files.

7. Box Note "Active Shared Link" indicator on Sidebar Box

   The only way currently to know if a Box Note has an Active Shared Link is to go to the folder which contains it (in the regular Box.com UI, not the Box Notes UI), and look for the "Active Shared Link" icon on the row for the .boxnote file.

   I suggest adding this same icon to the sidebar box for the note in the Box Notes UI (i.e. the box you click to load the note in the main right-hand pane).

8. Language selection for confrm email

   My customer request to translate to Japanese the confirm email, especialy "Please confrm the email address change for your Box account".
   Many Japanese user didn't check the confirm email, because they guessed the English email is spam mail.

10. check status of options in the admin console

    We can't check the area of Zones option now, Box should be better to check status of options in the admin console. That's not only Zones.

11. Log logs reporting

    There is no event logged when a user reports user activity or security logs. Could be worth to log that event along with the report criteria to be able to rack unusual reporting.

12. Merge versions of the same document in Box Web App

    Have the ability to merge two versions of the same document into one document with two versions without having to download one version, upload it as a new version, and then deleting the version that is now a copy.

13. Support Intune Managed Browser

    Currently, Box doesn't support Intune managed Browser. There are different behavior from a supported mobile browser like Safari, Chrome. If Intune Managed browser app is only Intune Browser, a user cannot use Box properly.

    "To enable the multiple links (Invite Collaborators, Get Shared Link, Manage Collaborators) for the Share button available externally, without the ellipsis? It somehow feels redundant to have two buttons and one, without complete access to the links."

16. Add "Last Accessed Date" as a file property

    Many cleanup/archival processes could be run via the API if this date was quickly accessible. Currently, one needs to look at events or reports to determine this date which is not feasible at scale for reports and Events API only goes back one year.

    This feature is not on our roadmap for 2019.

20. Report on pinned devices

    I would like to get a report on all currently active pinned devices in our enterprise. I can run a report for ‘devices added’, but it didn’t provide the information I wanted, so I added ‘devices removed’. Is there a SIMPLE way to get a report of all pinned devices?
