Preview embedded links and files in .pptx in the WebApp
We would like files embedded into .pptx documents to be previewable in the WebApp so we do not have to download them first to see the embedded files.

Email notification for new reports available in My Box Reports Folder
Please add a new feature to enable email notifications when Box reports I request becomes available in My Box Reports folder. I find that some reports may take several hours to run, specifically the Files and Folders report, and I need to constantly check refreshing the page to see if the report has been uploaded.

On Box Notes collaboration modal, display more than 5 candidate users when inviting users.
Currently, up to 5 users are displayed on collaboration modal of Box Notes, which is far less than 50 users of webapp. We want Notes to parallel webapp on this.

Box lock security
We just discovered that a user with viewer-uploader permissions can unlock files which our team believes is an unacceptable security flaw. The viewer-uploader level of security is required for a user to create a folder within a folder that we have granted them access to, but other than that level of editing our external invited partners should not have the ability to manage a security feature such as unlocking a file or folder.

Extend expiration dates to be shown in their user activity reports
For external collaborations, it shows the date the collaboration is going to end when it's first set in the user activity to report as
-Action: Collaboration expiration
-Details: To: YYYY-MM-DDHowever when you extend this period, the "To: YYYY-MM-DD" isn't displayed so you don't know until when it's extended until unless you go the individual folder/file itself and look at the "clock" mark manually.
In the report
-Action: Extend collaborator expiration
-Details: [Blank]The customer wants to have a grasp of each expiration dates so they're saying looking at each item manually on Box is impractical.

File Upload Notification - Ability to set alerts to a specific managed user per folder
File Upload can be a game changer for our company - with 1 major exception. Notifications in box seem to be all or nothing. Its overwhelming. Most of our team have them all turned off.
We would like the ability to set a notification for file uploads - per folder - per user/s. Example: Folder named: Dr. Joe with 10 folders within it. One of the sub-folders is named "Uploads from Dr. Joe" A file request link is created and shared with the client for this sub-folder. Single API call to delete user and transfer folders for that user
Before deleting a user from box system we can transfer the root folder from one user account to
another.
Once the root folder is transferred only then delete API must be triggered.
So in all, the delete operation will have to call two API one to transfer and another to delete.But as the transfer API call will return synchronously.
For users with a large number of files and folders, this means the call could take minutes or hours to return.So the delete operation will be in pending state until we receive the transfer API response.

Allow SSO users to remove their external password again
Since I as a user can set up an external password for my SSO account, I'd like to also be able to remove that external password when I no longer need it. This a) removes an unnecessary login method and therefore improves security and b) alleviates the need for me to regularly change a password I no longer have any use for.
Currently this requires going through Box support (and potentially an enterprise's own internal support hierarchy before that, as in my case), whereas it could also be a simple link/button next to the "Change Password" link in my account…

Add Multimedia Embedding Functionality
The minimal approach to Box Notes is great. There are times where I'd like to use my note as a report and insert embedded HTML code for video or document preview that pulls from Box documents.

Turn task status to approved in individual task center for the person who approved in multi approval task
When someone send a task to approve to a list of approvers, each recipient is notified and the task appears in the task center with an on going status and still until the whole approvers cconfirm. Suddenly someone who receives a lot of spots loses visibility and time to find only those he has not yet approved. It might be great that when this task is appoved by one it disappears when this last search for task to approved and appears in task approved.

Binding existing files/folders to a virtual folder for sharing
Situation
I've been working on several projects for a client, with a main folder for each project containing the project files, organised in sub folders. My client asked me if it was possible to point him to one folder that contained the neccessary files from each project for simplified access, without having to send him multiple sharing links to each folder instead.Approach
Normally I would set up that folder on my local computer, put in all the necessary files and upload it, providing a sharing link to my client.Suggestion

BOX CLI should have feature to provide proxy to be able to run BOX CLI in corporate server. As all the corporate server requires proxy authentication to communicate to external URI.

New File Request Submit Button moved to top or fit within viewport
New File Request Template moves the submit button out of the viewport. Users will upload the file without scrolling down to fully 'submit' the file. Can we move the submit button to top of page, or make that preview page smaller to fit within viewport? See Customer comment below:
"The thing about this template is that the CTA to submit is buried in the footer and outside the user's viewport on a laptop. I’ve seen with surveys when the CTA is not in the viewport, a portion of users miss it and never actually submit. And, there is no feedback…

New UI Beta Feedback
In the new UI beta, the Dev Console and Admin Console have been pushed too far to the bottom of the page. Whenever you hover over a link in Chrome, the URL preview covers up the Admin Console link. Suggestion would be to move both up to be a section beneath the collections.

Need to update Salesforce Community Lightning Component Package to include sharing, collaboration, etc
Customers are exploring Salesforce Communities for many use cases because of the no code/low code community builder capabilities which enables speed to market and ease of administration. When looking into the AppExchange options specifically for Communities for secure file sharing, onboarding, collaboration, etc that could easily be plugged in, the Box Communities Lightning Component Pack is quickly ruled it out because of the lack of capabilities and the fact that it hasn't been updated since 2016. Attribute dropdown list for performing Metadata searches in Box
We need a way to search for assets with metadata WITHOUT having to manually enter in the values into the Advanced Search tool.
Without this important feature, users are forced to have to know beforehand or remember the values associated with each metadata atttribute.
If someone had no idea which values to input into the search tool to search for assets, then how would they perform a search?2 votes
