A method of Direct message or chat to a user.
Besides notifications, we would like to have a way to DM or chat a user about changes to content.
Comments are limited in characters and will also appear to others. This is why we would like a way to message a user directly within Box.

Treat .todo files as plain text
There is a plugin for Sublime Text that lets you create .todo files for task lists. These are just plain text files so it would be great if they could be previewed and treated as plain text. I'm mainly interested in being able to use the versioning to see the history of these files.

Folder created on mobile does not sync automaticaly on desktop with Box Sync
Solution : automatically sync folder created on mobile on desktop, or at least allow to activate syncing on desktop from the mobile app (this option is only available online - under sub / sub menu - but not in mobile menu)

Box for Trimble integration
We would like to be able to use a software called Trimble. It would streamline clicks/content if there was a Box for Trimble integration.

"Copy Local Link" in the right click menu.
There is a "Copy Shared Link" in the right click menu that creates a link to the file or folder on the Box web. I would like a similar function that creates a link to the local file system, replacing the first part of the path with "%USERNAME%" or "%USERPROFILE%". With this function it would be possible to send links to files in the local file system.1 vote -
Allow setup quota for Box Driver(Mac)
Currently there's no way in Mac to check my Box driver's quota setting, nor allow me change it.
Please open this feature to us. I want to use that to control my Mac's disk usage, especially when I need to upgrade my Mac to latest OS. I need to release my disck space for upgrading.1 vote -

Faster uploads by allowing to select UDP for the upload protocol
For faster upload speed, allow users to select option to utilize UDP for the upload protocol, instead of TCP.

Box Passcode Screenshot Issue Resolution
On the Box Android App when you set a passcode it does not allow you to take a screenshot of any document. You have to go remove the passcode to take the screenshot and then go back and set it again.
This is beyond tedious and unnecessary and some other workaround to be able to do both has to be given. I want to have the ability to have security (passcode) and take screenshots.1 vote -
Message on page timing out / becoming inactive
After a certain period of time with no activity, the Box web tabs in the browser become inactive / time out (but not the overall Box session). So users try to upload content or complete other actions but are not successful and don't find the reason why.
It would be good to add a message in the tab when this happens prompting users to refresh the page in order to keep working on that tab.

preset email address in the sign-in dialog in Windows
When using Box Drive on Windows, i would like you to preset email address in the sign-in dialog.
The email address can be get from the domain user's mail attribute.This is mandatory in environments where SSO is enabled/required.
In the case of Box webapp, the IdP's authentication screen opens just by pressing the continue button once.However, in the case of Box Drive, you need to enter an email address to open the IdP screen.
Also, IdP may ask you to enter email address again.The sequence of entering this email address hinders the user experience.

New functions in Folder settings
-To add some new functions in the folder settings, so that collaborators will be deleted automatically when moving folders to another folder.
-To add some new functions to the folder settings so that users will be able to change roles like the Privacy settings. We want to control collaboration using roles on the the upper folders. However, in this case, folders which are not intended, can be created in subdivided folders. If any files were moved to subdivided folders accidentally, the file can be visible from users who are not intended to.1 vote -

Folder name should be included when users try to delete intentionally or unintentionally.

Consolidate and replace
Edge case failure! :
1) Upload testXMovie.mp4
2) Upload testYMovie.mp4
3) UPDATE testYMovie.mp4 by uploading testXMovie.mp4 againUpload fails without solution or description.
Better: "The file you are uploading TestXmovie.mp4 already exists in this folder. Would you like to replace both files with this one? (or cancel)"

You could not block the interface with your checklist. I can't use the interface because the checklist is in the way.
Make it dismissable. Maybe pop it up if you log in, but don't have it covering part of the interface and allow it to be dismissed.1 vote -
I would like to automatically set some options when creating a Box user. This is more about options in the Account settings.
We are currently provisioning automatically BOX users via our IDP and SAML assertion.When a user is added to an Active Directory group, his BOX account is automatically created.

Limit which applications can be used for non-trusted pc's
I'd like the ability to limit which applications can be used to open files for non-trusted pc's (and mac's). I'd like to limit non-domain pc's to open files using Office online applications, but not using Office clients installed on the PC directly. The goal is to remove the ability for non-domain pc's to continue editing files, but not have them stored locally in any way.

The pop up box when you first sign up is very obtrusive. There's no X to click to make the box disappear and it's not helpful.
Allow users to click on the basic steps box on the bottom left corner to disappear. It's obtrusive to have to walk through those steps to make it go away

Email notifications should include context
We want Box generated email notifications to include context re: the folder-level where the user was added.
For people like our boss who wants to know what is going on with a project without having to open a folder the information provided in the email notification will have to let him know what project (folder) it is associated with.

I'd like to be able to set the e-mail address for uploads to box folders
My team uses Box to allow students in our training courses to upload some of their code for review at a later time. One of the indispensable features has been the ability for these students to e-mail their code to Box, which alleviates many of the security concerns our clients have re: thumb drives, etc.
The one issue at this point is that when allowing e-mails to a Box folder, the e-mail address name is auto-genrated. I have no problem with this in theory, but in practice it results in typos, missed e-mails, and re-work.
