Add TeX as a supported file type
Much of my lab's documentation is written in LaTeX, or even vanilla TeX.
It would be incredibly useful to have .tex in the list of recognized
file types so that they can be displayed and/or edited in the browser

have ability to create share link within templates tab
Like the idea of templates for Sign but as templates get created, it would be great to be able to generate a shared link that would go directly to a template I want a collaborator to see or use versus using the search or manually looking at all the Sign templates. Ideally this share link creation happens from the templates tab as this is the most intuitive when reviewing templates

Notify users when a folder-path download will exceed 256 characters
When a user downloads a folder-path that exceeds the Windows 256 character limit, alongside the standard folder structure, Box creates a “_” folder and to hold the files with a Box shortened folder paths, so it can work-around the over-long file-paths. Since Box doesn’t tell the user what to expect, they think that the download is missing files and isn’t functioning correctly.
To address user confusion, we want Box to add alerts about the folder and file path name limits in three places:
- When a user creates a folder name for the first time,
- When a user downloads an affected folder and
- As a text note within an affected downloaded folder itself (so someone receiving the zip file understands what they’re looking at)

Secure admin only download of 'malicious' files for analysis
Admins should be able to download Box Shield tagged malware without marking the file safe for everyone. That way a security admin could download the file and scan it with their own security tools. That’s the only real way to diagnose if a file is malicious or just a false positive.
Asking us to mark it safe by chatting with the user is far from best practice

Explain navigation mode
Choosing the navigation mode (trackpad or mouse) is not evident and the navigation is not natural when you are on trackpad mode but using a mouse. Ther should be an interface explaining it is possible to change it

email MFA with FTP
FTP only supports SMS MFA, this is a very restricting security setting, and quite frankly is a bad idea.
PER BOX'S OWN DOCUMENTATION ( https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043697154-Multi-Factor-Authentication-Set-Up-for-Your-Account):
"SMS may not be available because a user is traveling, offline, or in a country that does not support 2FA through SMS."
AS WELL AS:
"There are known SMS security vulnerabilities, such as SIM swapping."
Please allow us to use AT LEAST email MFA when uploading/downloading via FTP.

Hide the company name in the right side of the document when sharing my files.
There's no way to hide the company name in the right side of the document when sharing my files.
I'd like to hide it.1 vote -
Version history - ability to see what has changed since the last version
Ability to see what has changed since the previous version on Box web - highlighting key differences or changes to the document. Also the ability to compare 2 specific versions side by side as you can in SharePoint to see what has changed.

Create an audit only mode for classification policies
Auto-classification policies can receive an audit only mode similar to Shield Access Policies. Essentially an auto-classification policy in audit only mode will return a list of files that would have triggered an auto-classification upon upload or interaction. Shield administrators can then review the list of files that would have been classified and review for accuracy.
Decreases risk of misclassifying content due to policy misconfigurations.

Admin-level alert notification on certain Box Drive permission errors
Users can create folders in Box Drive at the root level. In a closed folder taxonomy, the folder does not sync and fails with permission and/or problem item errors. If a user does not address the notification (or notifications are disabled), users can continue to create content in the unsynced folders. Icon overlays are also not reliable, so this will not be discovered until the content is lost due to hardware failure or software/OS reload. Consider alerting admins of these issues via the event stream or Shield-type alerts to prevent data loss, or disabling the creation of folders this way.

Survey Making Function on Box
Hello, It would be great to be able to create surveys and receive survey results using Box. That could be through an integration with Google Forms. It would be helpful to be able to create a Google Form within Box and then be able to download the results of the survey into a Spreadsheet also created or saved on Box. Thanks!

Ability to specify BoxNote headings by URL
In the case of shared links, "#p=number of pages" can be added to the end of the URL to move to the specified page.
If BoxNote can also specify a heading in the URL so that the user can move directly to the desired location (heading), it will reduce the time and effort required by the recipient when the URL is shared (time and effort required to move to the corresponding heading).
I understand that the insertion of a table of contents in BoxNote allows the user to move from the table of contents to the corresponding heading, but when I share the link address attached to the heading of the table of contents, it does not move to the corresponding heading, but displays the first part of the main text.<BoxNoteの見出しをURLで指定する方法>

canvas sharing outside the organisation
Currently one of the great things about other canvas style products is to be able to share it outside the organisation and to be able to invite a guest to contribute/edit the document.
Currently the external user needs to have a box account I believe.
Also a nice to have would be the ability to copy from Miro to Canvas

Improvements to Content Insights export & report automation
Hello,
Currently, one of our primary uses of box.com is for shared link file preview and download reporting (in our case for required analytics for grant based reporting). The file level 'Content Insights' feature is very helpful for this. However, the current .csv export offered in the content insights feature is lacking some of the key data that is available in content insights detailed preview, specifically for us the location & IP address data presented.
Additionally, scheduled automation of a content insights report would be very helpful. We have mostly created this feature by customizing the 'User Activity' admin report, filtered to our folder in question and scoped to only a few pertinent file actions. This report is helpful in that it contains the IP address associated with the action, but itself is lacking the location data presented in either the 'Content Insights' detailed view or the 'Geographic Activity Report'. As these reports are going to non-technical users, translating the IP address to a location is not ideal, so having the calculated location data available on either of these reports would be very beneficial for our use case.
Thanks.

Enable Shuttle to Migrate Google-specific filetypes without converting
Currently, Shuttle uses an export feature of Google Drive's API when exporting Google Workspace documents, and this feature converts exported files into their non-Google Workspace corresponding formats (.gdoc> .docx, .gslides > .pptx, etc.). Since Box supports Google Workspace filetypes, Box should look to employ the non-public API endpoint that Google offers that can be utilized to export files in their native format without converting them.
