Transfer ownership of a file
I was blown away that I can't change the ownership of "files", only folders. We have a user that retired and we need to transfer ownership of all her content to other employees (not just a single employee). Transferring ownership of a "folder" is easy and straightforward.
Box has a limitation that prevents you from transferring ownership of an individual file. This user has about 40 files at their root of her account (under All Files). The only way to change ownership is to move the file into a folder and then share and change the ownership of the folder. That's ridiculous and super time consuming!!
All of these files have different permissions and can't be copied into a single folder in this case. I have to create 40 separate folders, copy each individual file into each corresponding folder, share the folder with whoever the new owner will be and then transfer ownership of the folder to the new owner.

Improve breadcrumbs/file paths
Improve breadcrumb usability. As of now, only 1-3 file paths show before opening a folder. You have to click the btn-content button to view previous folders and/or navigate back to all files.
Decreasing the size of the text (or maybe only showing 10-12 characters) would help with this.

Ability to apply signing template to document uploaded to folder via relay
It would be great if a specified signature template could be applied to a document uploaded to a specified folder via relay, and use fields within the document to specify recipients. For example, uploading a document with a number of names and email addresses would automatically have a signature template applied, then use the email addresses and names within the document to assign those people to the proper signature areas, then send the document for signature.

Automatic actions based on alerts
We would like to be able to set automated actions based on alerts. For example if Box detects anomalous download with a risk score higher than e.g. 60 or a set threshold of number of files, the user’s account will be locked to stop further downloads.
A message should then be sent to the user and IT admin that it has been locked due to anomalous download detection. Then IT need to do a investigate and take action, or reactivate the account if it is a false positive.
The pain point of not having this option is that the current alert is very reactive. Loads of files can be downloaded before we can stop it. We can take disciplinary actions, but the information may still have been stolen or shared, which is an information security issue.

When moving a file from an external tenant, the collaboration log of the user invited to the moved file is not output.
If you perform a move operation under the following conditions, the invitation log will not be included in the collaboration report.
[External Box tenant]
Folder X User ①: Editor or higher authority
∟File Y User ②: Has access authority (regardless of authority)When user ① belonging to the company's tenant moves file Y from the above state by move operation
⇒ The log that the user ② invited to file Y was invited to the company's tenant is not listed. We heard that this behavior is by design.
When moving a file from an external Box environment, if the access authority of the user invited to the file also moves to the company's tenant, I think that it is necessary to output a report as an invitation operation.
When conducting an investigation, you should check the user activity report, not the collaboration log.
The investigation is very time-consuming, so we want it to be refurbished.(In Japanese)
If you perform a move operation under the following conditions, the invitation log will not be included in the collaboration report.

Bypass Box interface when signing a document via notification email
We have a client who wants to implement Box Sign, but can't do so until their senior leadership is able to bypass the Box interface as an intermediary. Senior leadership, often on the go, wants to be able to click directly from their email to sign a document.

Option to embed link to sign request document in an email
Instead of telling my clients to look out for an email from no-reply@box.com and dealing with spam issues, I want to be able to embed an link to the document in an email directly from me.

Relay Folder Workflow - add naming options
Please add an option to use the name of the "manually" created main folder(that starts the relay workflow) as a prefix/suffix for the subfolders created automatically by relay.

Customizable form for Box Sign
Need the ability to create a form that allows users to type in their own name, date, and enter text based on the request into a form that allows folks to sign off/provide approval based on what is in the form within Box Sign.

Ability to grant Metadata When Uploading Multiple Files in a File Request
Under the current Box specification (December 10, 2021), when uploading multiple files at the same time using a file request, all files are given the same metadata. To comply with the Electric Book Storage Act, I believe that when users upload multiple files using file requests in Box, metadata must be attached to each file. We strongly hope to add the ability to grant metadata to individual files to file requests.

Ability to sort folders/file when choosing where to upload images on Mobile app
When trying to upload multiple photos from my phone to Box, it does not allow me to SORT the folders/file in order to find the folder/file I want the photos placed in. I am forced to manually scroll through literally 100s of folders - which seem to be in order of most recently used which is not helpful - until I find it. You should be able to sort the folders, at minimum to put them in alphabetical order or by date etc so that you can find the place to upload them more easily.

To be able to TAG documents using keyboard shortcut
I would like to be able to assign shortcuts to functions in box both in the dashboard view and in the document review. Tagging a document takes too many steps and too many mouse clicks to do which defeats the purpose of using tags. A TAG icon on the right side menu along with the metadata icon would also be nice to have to be able to TAG documents faster.

Warning before deleting files or folders
Before deleting files and folders, there should be a warning, so you don't accidentally delete a file or folder you didn't mean to.

Add file count to Folder Properties
Folder properties on browser based app should display the number of files in the folder. We use Box for photoshoot asset sharing while still in production (before moving to our DAM) and it's really a pain to verify file count.

COPY / MOVE API events to include origin file's ID, name and location
Currently there is no way to know which file was copied/moved in Box Events API. It is only possible to see the destination file name and location, and only if the file was copied/moved within one Box instance. This presents a major challenge for customers who want to build custom programs that monitor copy/move activity both inside and outside their Box instances.

Ability to send customized emails to different roles in Box Sign
Ability to send a customized email to each of the various roles on one Sign request. For example, we would like folks with the "Approver" or "Get a Copy" role to receive emails with customized text based on their role in the process that is different from the email text sent to the Signer.
Additionally, the current email sent to those with the "Approver" role is misleading as it indicates they need to sign something. Can improved automated text be crafted that is more clear that this person is receiving an approval task, rather than a sign task?

Ability to customize promotion settings
Please add a setting to not show the promotion that appears when users starts Box Drive.
That promotion can be confusing because it forces the user to see it even if the company does not allow that feature.1 vote -
Support for MacOS Finder Tags (the colored dots) in Box is Needed
Under Catalina and before Finder Tags worked the same on Box Drive as they would on a local drive.
Finder Tags are a significant feature for MacOS users and not having them any more is a problem. Many MacOS users depend on Finder Tags in work flows and losing this feature has broken long established processes to manage files.

Box Cataloging Spreadsheet
I would like a live spreadsheet that shows an outline of our folders and files, who updated them, and when - and that we could add columns to that we manually update. This could be within box or another app.

Groups - Customizable Permission Settings
None of the 3 permissions options - Company, Group Members, Admins Only - are ideal. Would love to have more options or perhaps a customizable setting where we can select which options to allow.
For example, as the primary admin, I apply groups to root folders and I want anyone shared to that folder to be able to view the group members for any group collaborating on that folder. Only way to do that now would be to set the groups' permissions to "Company". However, I do not want everyone to be able to invite any group to folders, and I particularly do not want them removing groups from folders!
That latter issue is also a problem with the Group Members permission as a group member with Editor permissions can remove the group from the folder, thereby removing access for their entire team (this happened a few times already). So I'd like to create a new permission that allows anyone to view members but does not allow anyone but Admins to add/remove the groups from folders.
