Have a personalized name for a shared file or folder
It would be great if we could apply a tag, or rename a file or folder to something private to the user rather than what the original owner named the file.
Today we can move those items into Collections to manage them with our own naming, but that doesn't resolve the issue of individual files or folders with ambiguous names. For example: I need to track certain files that a bunch of different teams are working on as part of "Company Project 1". I don't need to see everything the teams are doing, so they don't grant me access to their entire folder structure. Instead they just give me access to their "Project 1" folder.
So now, I have 27 different "Project 1" folders for each of the different teams, and there's no good way to know which one I'm looking for. I could create 27 different collections each with 1 folder... but that's cumbersome and not really helpful to sprawl.
What I'd much rather have would be a personal "Project 1" collection with 27 folders named for each of the teams. They don't need to see the folder names I use -- it would be a unique name/tag/view just for me.
Today I do this with a personal folder full of bookmarks... but the overall sprawl is still there behind the scenes (and especially when searching, the bookmarks do nothing to help.)

Add 'type' in column sidebar features.
Currently the features at the column sidebar only can sort by 'Name', 'Updated' and 'Size' only.
It would be nice if the column sidebar from box layout features can be add another item on it, Which is I'm looking for 'Type' of folder/file to be add.
This will make the layout neater and more organized because the colors of files and folders in the waeb app makes them cluttered which makes the layout seem not regulated efficiently, and it will also make it easier to search for files and folders especially in large quantities of files in one folder. Looking forward for box team to considerer upgrade this features to be more convenient and handy to all box users.Currently the features at the column sidebar only can sort by 'Name', 'Updated' and 'Size' only.

Would like the ability to set the Data Residency Zone via REST API and SDK
It would be very beneficial for my organization if we could get a handle to the Data Residency Zone via REST API and Java SDK. We are currently incorporating all the "Freemium" accounts that were created before we set the domains that weren't allowed to create as a free user. It would be nice to be able to set their data zone programmatically based on information we gather from our Active Directory as we incorporate them.

We want the ability to display a list of tags.
I'd like to see this kind of feature because it makes it easier to check tags by displaying them in a list.

I want to restrict the installation of the desktop application by user
Is it possible to add a feature to the management console that allows me to limit the installation of desktop applications (Box Drive, Box Note, etc.) per managed user?
Once this is achieved, there will be more control over which desktop applications a corporate user can install.

Invite users to file request
We would like to inform our users that we have created a file request area for them. As soon as we create a file request we would like to be able to send a number of users a notification that they should upload their files there.
Currently we have to manually copy the URL into an email to inform people, which breaks the flow. We would like the same functionality we see when creating shared links.

Auto sync of Email folders and attachments from Outlook in Box.
It would be nice to have two sync options to store data. 1) the current desktop system is fine and works well but ideally 2) you could have a synch to mirror Outlook email folders and attachments . In both cases the user should be allowed to select which folders would be sync'd. PLEASE HELP. !!! Our company is now moving emails over 6 months old into archive and anything over 1 year old is being deleted . Only way to save now is via box but that only helps for recreating folders on desktop and linking to box. Would be much easier and faster to have options to mirror Email folders and sync.

Could Box have integration with Adobe Bridge?
When I add tags to files in Bridge, they do not show up on the file when I look at the image in Box. I was told by your support department to contact you so that this integration could be created.

Notification to BOX Folder Co-Owner(s) when Owner has been removed/deleted
The current behavior in BOX when a Folder owner is removed / deleted from the system is the Folder is no longer available.
The process, in my experience, to recover the folder is not obvious, quick nor easy.
I propose the BOX system notify all Folder Co-owners of a pending Folder removal / deletion and allow 2 weeks for the co-owner(s) to determine whether the Folder should be removed from BOX and if the decision is to keep the Folder active to determine the new Owner as well.1 vote -
Ability to utilize file request as an outcome within Relay
Having the ability to upload a file or utilize file request as a step within Relay. Currently you can only kick off a workflow with either action. There are several document review use cases where a task is completed such as a lease review and a new task is assigned to a different user to upload the lease renewal document to be reviewed prior to being sent out to the client.

Box keysafe requires the use of a specific AWS region, but from the perspective of disaster response, we request that the service be deployed in multiple regions.

I want to change the Box Report Folder’s name without the report getting saved in a new folder
Currently, to make it easier for me to identify what kind of report it is, after the folder is created for the user activity report, I change the name of the folder.
However, when the report is made, instead of the original folder that I changed the name, the report is saved into a new folder that is created when the report is made.
I would like the report to go to the original folder that is created even after I change the name of that folder.1 vote -
Dark Mode Option
I think it would be nice to be able to either turn on a Dark Mode when I'm in a browser at Box.com or, have an option to select a different background color.
Just one of those folk who have a time with bright white light ..234 votesIt is not currently prioritized in the near future. However, we are putting systems in place so that we can enable the dark mode in the future.

box for office use several accounts
I have 2 Box accounts and one instance of Outlook. It'd be very convenient to be able to download / upload using several accounts from Box for office (save attachments in Outlook, attach links, etc.).
As an example, I have this ability with Adobe Acrobat in which my 2 accounts are linked.2 votes -
Limit the SFDC tenant which can be integrated via Box for salesforce to the one allowed by Box Admin
In the current Box for Salesforce integration, Box Admin can't limit the Salesforce tenant which can be integrated and Box for Salesforce integration can be setup with normal Box accounts so normal employee can set up Box for Salesforce by using their normal Box account and Salesforce Developer edition.
Even if the company prohibit to access Box from a private computer from home or outside the company network, once this integration was setup and access token was give to Box for Salesforce application a user can retrieve the contents via Box for Salesforce from a private computer.
So this can be security hole and we want Box to fix this problem. And if we can limit the Salesforce tenant which can be integrated to only the one Box Admin allow in the Box Admin console, I think this issue can be cleared.

"Content Classification Based on Keywords for Secure Publishing in Box"
Shield Classification on keywords - publishing customer is interested in the ability to classify content based on keywords or other lists. Keywords would enable them to classify content when a word or phrase related to one of their publications is managed by Box. Perhaps the keywords could be controlled in a 'list' so the list can be edited as needed based on the changing needs within their organization (super sensitive book needs to be classified pre-publication and there needs to be a list of words/terms associated with it - to keep it secure. But when the book is released that entry in the list can be removed or replaced by another super secret term).
