Company Shared Link Controls: 'Auto-Expiration' to Only Impact Company Links ('People in your company' links)
Our customers would like to set default expiration for 'People in your company' links but not for 'Invited user only' links.
Recently, we have been able to set default expiration for Open links.
This change have been improved usability, our customers are pleased about it.But it is still impossible to set a default expiration only for 'People in your company'links (without setting for 'Invited user only' links).
Some of our customers need to limit the sharing of information internally as well and hope this setting.
Example.
・pharmaceutical industry
・manufacturing industry
・Companies with group companiesNow, they have to set default expiration for all shared links, but it would seriously compromise usability.
Their Box admins worry that users will continue to use attachments files because of bad usability of shared links.
Please consider this idea.Related Request:

Word docs reformatted and deleting text
I've noticed that Word documents that I upload get reformatted and text gets cut off in the Box version. This has happened to me several times, and to my coworkers as well.

Ability to search applications under the custom apps tab
Looking forward or a capability to search for applications within the custom apps tab.
We have more than 100 Applications whitelisted given the size of our organization and that keeps growing. In this case, whenever there is an action needed to be done on an application say for example disable an application. We need to search through the long list. This is very inconvenient right now.1 vote -
Ability to hide feed updates by folder level
Like others have mentioned before, Feed can be too busy to make it useful. There are many folders I am invited in where I don't need to see updates. It would be useful to have the ability to silence those folders on your feed so you are only getting updates from the folders you are interested in.

Restrict Invitations
When "Restrict invitations: Only admins, folder owners and co-owners can invite collaborators" is activated in the admin Consol: Then the entries in the share button should also be adjusted. It still says here that editors, viewer uploaders and viewers can also share content. This is kind of confusing for the Users

Provide link to Box root or parent folder from within Notes view
While one can navigate to the parent folder when in preview/edit mode on a Box Note by clicking the ellipsis, it's not obvious to those that don’t know about it and can’t find it.
This lack of navigation is likely because of the reliance on using tabs to differentiate notes from the rest of Box. However, this has its shortcomings, as it relies on opening up notes from within Box. I have some bookmarks that go directly to a Box note, so I could never before find a way to get out of the notes view when opening notes this way without modifying the URL directly in the browser.

Send a "here's how your items are shared" report to each user periodically
One of the most common sources of security breaches is due to a user inadvertently sharing an item more broadly or for longer than they intended.
A simple way to help limit those sorts of security breaches would be for Box to email every user a report periodically (configurable by the admin, but roughly monthly) that said "Here's how everything you own is shared with other people, and here's a link to the KB article that'll tell you how to fix it if it's not what you want", then showed a report of their folders, files, and shared links, with an emphasis on more-dangerous practices (like folders or custom shared links that are shared with the public).

Add ability to preview Excel docs on Box.com in portrait or landscape, depending on correct orientation in Page Setup of file.
Currently, you can only preview Excel documents on Box.com in landscape mode which means documents with orientations set to portrait are chopped at the 2/3 mark and appear on two pages. The issue is that it takes up precious viewing space by having the two pages in the page preview panel on the left which would otherwise not be there if you were looking at a 1-page document in portrait mode. Therefore, you have to zoom into a document and then flip to the second page to see the rest of it. Please fix.

The ability to name the title of a collection
I have a number of folders that were invited by external users (grey folders) and those folders are typically named such as "shared folder" and it is often difficult to identify which organization I am invited by. So I would like to organize those folders by naming when collection.
1 voteIf the request is to rename folder names on folders that are owned by an external party, we are currently unable to support this.

Read only access to Admin Console
To allow the worker's council to read the settings the admins make in Box, we need a read-only admin role.
This would allow the worker's council to control what the admin are doing, without giving them the ability to change those settings. We don't want to give non-admins admin privileges.
This helps us being a) compliant with the WC and b) be transparent to our colleagues.

Auto Expiration of Collaborations
For automatic expirations of external collaborators:
Add criteria to automatically remove an external collaborator after they have not accessed content for X amount of time instead of a fixed day amount. This way, after an external collaborator has not previewed a piece of content in X amount of days, they will be removed. Makes it less manual to extend external collaborators if the system is removing them for us because they are not accessing a folder.

Box Drive Conflict Handling: Save Edits to Conflict Copies Instead of Overwriting
Request to change the behavior when conflict happens on Box Drive. Since Box Edit is currently uploading to a conflict copy after conflict occur. This will likely make you a bit confusion.
Current behavior:
- User A opens and edits file X without lock via Box Drive.
- User B opens and edits file X without lock via Box Drive.
- User B saves the file X via Box Drive. Upload the changes as version 2 to file X
- User A saves the file X via Box Drive. Conflict happened. Create a conflict copy like file X (email address).
- User A saves file X again while keeping it open. Upload the changes as version 3 to file X
Behavior we want:
- User A opens and edits file X without lock via Box Drive.
- User B opens and edits file X without lock via Box Drive.
- User B saves the file X via Box Drive. Upload the changes as version 2 to file X
- User A saves the file X via Box Drive. Conflict happened. Create a conflict copy like file X (email address).
- User A saves file X again while keeping it open. Upload the changes as version 2 to the conflict copy 'file X (email address).

Automatically prohibit unsupported characters
Box Drive and unsupported characters:
It’s hard to find each folder or file that contains prohibited characters, so I’d like to have prohibited characters registered online automatically deleted or replaced
so they will appear in Box drive.14 votes -

Alarm with due date in documents.
It would be very nice you can set a revalidation date to some documents that need to be reviewed in selected period. For example , documents that need to be validated each year. It would be nice if we can flag a date in the document , and receive an alert advicing that the document need to be reviewed. This alarm can be used for everything (for example for deletion of document). Thanks!

Level Up the Salesforce Integration & Increase Doc Visibility/Accessibility
Our company uses the Salesforce-Box integration. We are made up of a set of advisor teams who should only be able to see their clients' files. This works in Salesforce, where all client documents are visible. However, our users were used to accessing client files in the "File Explorer" on their desktop (Finder in Mac), under the Salesforce folder in Box on the desktop. Client folders only show up here if the user has clicked through the client's folders/docs in Salesforce. It would be great if our teams could see all their client folders in the File Explorer without having to click around in Salesforce until the folders show up.
