need to edit files but not change folder nae
I need the ability to give users permissions so that they can upload files, edit files, delete files but not be able to change the folder name that those files are in. I'm going to use Skysync to move files there and the process will break if someone changes the folder name. Right now i don't think i can do this.

Hi BOX Team, as we know, Lotus Notes Team Rooms supported and funded by GTS will be shut down.. Let's build a interface with IBM bluegroups
IBM Bluegroups x IBM BOX .
Many spreadsheet application today work with bluegroups and DB Notes to a great and automatic access management. With the new notice, DB's will be sunset and we want to migrate to BOX but BOX still dont have an interface with IBIM bluegroups, so all access need to be set manually. If an interface, all users will be set automatically and all access flow will be automatic.
Example:
IBM Access Hub or IBM OneTeam -> IBM Bluegroup -> IBM BOX
This is be very helpfull for many users that need to have a repository control by IBM Access Management Tools.

Sync parent folder structure, so that Box Sync retains heirarchy
When granting access to a specific folder, the user's desktop only syncs that folder, not its parent. This results in the folder sitting directly in the highest level folder, rather than in a subfolder where it belongs. The user should see the full file path in Box Sync.
e.g. if granting user access to folder '/Apples' located in '/Fruit', the user should see 'Box Sync/Fruit/Apples', whereas they only see Box Sync/Apples because they do not have access to the overall '/Fruit' folder. This is the incorrect file path.

Fix the copy/paste feature so that random spaces are not removed from the pasted content
When copying from one Box Note to another (and probably from other rich text sources also), numerous spaces are removed from the pasted text. Often times, spaces are removed immediately following hyperlinks, but also from between random words throughout the text, requiring a complete, time-consuming review and cleanup of the new content.

FTP should support other authentication methods other than simple password
One of the most important things to understand is whether auth support / options match up with real life requirements and usage patterns

show full details of a file when integrated in finder
when viewing a file in a finder window (mac) I cannot view the details such as dimensions of an image. this is an extremely valuable feature for designers and developers using box to store their files.
4 votesThis is not currently planned, but we’d love to hear more use cases to help with the prioritization of this request!

Change the default security of a shared link, to "People in this file" or "People in this folder" rather than "Anyone with the link"
Change the default security of a shared link, to "People in this file" or "People in this folder" rather than "Anyone with the link" (which is the current default).
Whenever a shared link is created in box, the default access permission assigned to the new Shared Link, is "Anyone with the link" unless Account-level permissions are specifically changed by a knowledgeable user. This is not a secure choice at all. It's too easy to create a large number of Shared Links which, by default, are open to absolutely anyone in the entire world to whom the link gets forwarded to. The box user may be under the mistaken impression that their link is secure, but by default it is absolutely not at all secure!
This poor security choice is similar to forwarding an email attachment directly, but the difference is that box requires each of it's folder to be specifically permissioned. So the box user is under the impression that when users are permissioned to view folder contents, that no-one else would be able to view those contents even if a shared link is forwarded beyond the intended audience. WRONG!
Since box requires explicit addition of users to each folder, it makes sense that all shared links, by default would have their access level limited to the users of that folder. The user should specifically select whether they want to make the link accessible to everyone in the world.

Upload more than photos in Box Mobile for iPhone
We need an option to upload directly from Files app/Microsoft products via the Box Mobile App. Currently you can only upload boxnotes and photos directly from the Box Mobile app and to upload anything else you must go to a particular app and upload it from there.
On Android you can do this, why not iPhone?

File request from Outlook plugin
It would be FANTASTIC if we could extend the functionality of our the file request feature to the Outlook plug-in. There are many financial service firms (wealth management, family offices, PE, etc.) that do a substantial amount of client on-boarding and constantly have to request documents from them.
V.1 Doesn't need to be as feature rich as the current experience in Box - we truly just need a way to be able to select a folder, have a link generated for that location, and easily share that link in the body of the email.
2 votesThanks for your feedback! This is not planned but we hope to release API support soon to programmatically create a link and add it to the email signature – would this help?

Add Ability to Suppress Collaboration Emails via API
Hello
At Catalytic, we are deeply integrated with Box and 100% api driven. Currently when creating folders and adding collaborators via API, we are UNABLE to suppress the Box email notification.
This is causing confusions with our users as we are sending a Catalytic Branded email as well.

Add preferences dialog to Box Drive on Mac (e.g., hide menu icon, change shortcut key)
Most Mac apps provide a preference dialog for key settings. For Box Drive on Mac, I would expect pressing ⌘, when Box Drive's search is active to open preferences, where I could optionally hide Box Drive's menu bar icon (the icon inside Finder's sidebar is all I need to see) or change the shortcut key for searching (in case ⌃⌥⌘Space conflicted with another app) or adjust the maximum disk space used by Box Drive.
