Box language settings are not reflected in Box Notes.
Even if I change the display language of Box, the display of Box Notes does not switch to that language.
As I checked, it seems to depend on the language setting of the browser.
Other features such as Box Canvas and Box Hubs are tied to the display language of Box, so I would like to see Box Notes modified to work the same way.4 votes -
Shield alerting admins when users "download" from Box Drive
A customer is reporting difficulty using Box Shield’s Anomalous Download detection due to how downloads are currently defined when Box Drive is in use. Box Shield flags a “download” whenever a user expands or opens a folder in Box Drive. As a result, routine navigation actions are recorded as downloads, creating noise in the anomaly signals. The customer is asking whether anomalous download detection can be refined to trigger only on intentional file downloads (e.g., explicit download actions), rather than folder expansion or passive access via Box Drive.

Allow search feature on shared link folders
Allow search feature on shared link folders. Search feature should be everywhere whether they are collaborated folders or guest shared link folders.
Currently they are not available on shared link folders which makes it difficult for users to search for a specific file within a folder. (E.g. 500 image files in a folder and user has to download whole folder to search for a specific image file)

Box Sign Completed Document Retention/Archive
Requesting a feature for the Box administrator to natively retain a copy of all completed Box Sign documents in an environment. The Sign event Relay function partially meets this requirement, but this Relay workflow would need to be applied to the root Box folder.
Otherwise, a Governance or Retention policy that can accomplish this would be required. A third alternative may be to add a filter for Box Sign documents, similar to spreadsheets and PDFs, within the Content search feature. This would allow an administrator viewing all user content to filter out any documents not associated with a Box Sign workflow.

Box Web
Currently, when previewing a file in Box, navigating to another file often requires leaving the preview or opening a new view, which disrupts the user’s workflow. Introducing an in-browser preview experience similar to Outlook’s email preview would represent a significant usability improvement.
Specifically, this enhancement would allow users to:
Open a file in a preview pane within the same browser window.
Seamlessly navigate between files (e.g., next / previous) without closing the preview.
Preserve folder context and file list visibility while reviewing content.
Avoid losing navigation state or opening additional windows or tabs.
Beyond general document review, this functionality would be particularly valuable for email archiving use cases. At present, the lack of smooth navigation when previewing files in Box creates enough friction that many users prefer to remain in Outlook when reviewing and archiving emails and attachments.
A preview-and-navigation model comparable to Outlook’s would make Box a far more viable destination for email archiving, enabling users to review multiple emails or attachments efficiently without breaking their flow. This would encourage greater adoption of Box as a centralized repository, reduce dependency on Outlook for document review, and improve overall productivity.
Thank you for considering this suggestion.

AI units insights
Add enhanced reporting capabilities to the admin console that provide more granular and visual data on AI Units consumption patterns - instead of just a number on the insights. Having the just the tile with the overall number on the insights makes it difficult to track and manage my AI units efficiently.
I would like to have:
Graphical representation of AI Units consumed
Daily breakdown of consumption data
Ability to identify workflows causing usage spikes or dips
On-demand access to usage insights5 votes -
Prefer that it's not automatically set to "comment with time stamp" for video files
When commenting on a video file, the timestamp automatically comes on. It gets in the way. Our team don't use this feature. Can it be set to off? And when we decide to use the time stamp feature, we can toggle it on.
Sometimes we just need to comment back and forth without actually using the time stamp. Thanks!

Support Document Tabs in Google Docs.
I am a heavy user of Document Tabs [1] to help with my productivity and organization when using Google Docs.
However, if I create a Google Doc from Box or if I save my Google Doc from Google Drive into Box, the document tabs that I use are removed and the document tab feature is disabled. Because I don't have this feature, I am avoiding the creation of my Google Docs and storing my Google Docs in Box because it is causing a major disruption to my productivity.

Box Relay
Box Relay needs to be able to create a work flow for a parent folder and have it work for all child folders. A user is setting up a simple notification (upload, download) and then sends a notification to a set of users with a message. The user currently has to replicate or create a new Relay for each child folder. Very, very silly to have to waist so much time.

Better Reporting Experience, Especially for Clients in Highly Regulated Environments
In general, I think Box Reporting needs to be an area for improvement. There should be more options for reports and more filters and ways to manipulate the reports in Box.
Something specific we would like to see is better reporting around Governance, especially with retention policies. We operate in a highly regulated environment where we needed detailed reporting around this information. There needs to be more granularity with reports, such as the Files and Folders report. We should be able to run a report that shows all root folders or be able to separate out folders and files. I've seen several ideas about being able to parse out subfolders as well.
For us to prove we are in compliance for data retention and destruction, we need a report that shows all content has a retention policy assigned. There's really no easy way to currently do this. I need to run the Folders and Files report for All Folders, but then generates multiple csvs that are just about too big to open. There are also limitations we are seeing with this report, where we know content has a retention policy assigned, the policy has been assigned for months and the content hasn't moved, yet on the report, it's not showing as having any retention.
Bottom line, Box Reporting needs to be better, more accurate, more real-time and just brought up to speed with the current times. And there needs to be more compliance related reports available as well. Thank you for your consideration.

Box Events API Collaboration Events don't show the same details as the user activity report
When a User Activity report is generated, we can show events for 'Change user or group role' and 'Removed collaborator'. As part of these records there are additional details provided showing:
From: ROLE, To: ROLE, Folder ID: 1234
Was: ROLE, Folder ID: 1234When using Box Events via API we also see events for
COLLABORATION_ROLE_CHANGEandCOLLABORATION_REMOVE. These line up to the records in the User Details report however they are missing the details about the previous states of the collaboration. As part of our company policy for managing collaborations, I need to be able to fetch the previous roles of users so we can automatically revert these changes (in specific cases).
I see that the information is being captured, but not passed through to the API for some reason. Generating reports manually each time is not a viable solution, so I'm looking to get these additional details added into the event's additional details dictionary.

Set up abnormal download threat detection for a specific folder
The threat detection feature for abnormal downloads applies to the entire Box and often results in unnecessary detections.
If threat detection can be focused on specific folders, unintended detections can be minimized.
I would like the threat detection feature for abnormal downloads to be usable by specifying folders.-in Japanese-

Streamline process for inviting free users to Hubs
If a customer has restricted users' ability to create public shared links, they can only invite external users to Hubs if they already have a Box account. It would be ideal if this process worked the same way as it does if you invite an external user to a file/folder, where they are prompted to create a Box account (free or otherwise) and can then view the Hub. This adds friction into the process for users that are leveraging Box for external collaboration.

I would like the shared links to be automatically converted into hyperlink format instead of just displaying the URL.
Similar to how it works in SharePoint, I would like the system to automatically convert shared links into a hyperlink format using the file or folder name, rather than displaying them as a raw URL.
SharePointで出来るように、共有リンクを作成した際にURL形式ではなく、ファイル名やフォルダ名のハイパーリンク形式に自動変換できるようにしてほしいです。2 votes -
External Users sortable columns and bulk deletion based on last active date
Box makes it easier thru the Admin console GUI in the near future.
For External Users a sortable column of “Last Active” and then bulk deletion is needed in the Admin GUI.It would also be nice to have the option in Security to set a threshold like 90 days inactive for External Users before auto-delete to manage this automatically going forward.

CrowdStrike's ability to filter device protection by IP address
Box Shield allows you to protect your devices with CrowdStrike.
Once CrowdStrike is enabled, you will not be able to log in on devices that do not have Box Tools installed.
Therefore, if you have a device that cannot be installed on Box Tools, such as Linux, you will not be able to use CrowdStrike's protection of your device.
Only when calling from a specific IP address should CrowdStrike policies be applied.
There is a need to not want the policy to be applied to unmanaged devices, so we would like a function that allows us to narrow down the target by IP address.【In Japanese】

More granular visibility on Metadata Cascade Policies for folders
Currently, when getting info for folders via API, users are able to see whether a cascading metadata policy is set, but can't see if it is set to override existing values, only apply to new instances, or not overwrite anything. Some customers would like more detail included with whether or not a cascade policy exists and what it's set to

Multilingual Support in the Prompt Library
We would like to request that the “Prompt Library” feature support multiple languages, including Japanese, and align with the language selected in Account Settings > Language.
We are confident that this would be a highly impactful update for many users!「プロンプトライブラリ」機能を日本語を含む多言語に対応させ、[アカウント設定 > 言語] で選択した言語と連動させていただきたいと考えております。
