Users are requesting for a permission level where collaborators can view and download, but cannot "get link."

We do not plan on adding additional permission levels at this time. We will reconsider this request if anything changes.

Not planned for now. I’m interested in additional information. Do you plan to notify users directly about this?

  3. Password Change Prompt on Mobile Login

If an end user must reset their password (either mandated by admin or enterprise settings), we would like that notification to appear when the user tries to log in on the mobile app

We would also like a notification when the password is going to expire (i.e., your password will expire in 7 days)

This is an interesting feature! However, it does not have enough demand or impact in order to be prioritized. We will reconsider with additional demand.

  6. Downloading Empty Folders

We noticed and it's confirmed with Box Support that the Box service treats "empty folders" inconsistently depending on which Box mechanism is used.

Empty folders are not created if we download folders via the Web interface. Empty folders are created via Box Sync. We are finding that this inconsistent behavior is creating confusion for our users and a mistrust in the Box service. Can you rectify the inconsistent behaviour?

Thank you for this suggestion! This is a low priority because it’s a very narrow use case. Changing this functionality does not impact a large enough user base.

  7. Support Routing to 2 (Or More) Proxies for Network Traffic

Currently Box Sync only supports routing traffic through 1 proxy (identified via leveraging the PAC file on the computer)

We have advanced network traffic routing schemes in place and need the ability to route Box traffic selectively to 2 (or more) proxies based on:

-Bandwidth/volume of traffic (i.e., routing uploads/downloads through a different proxy than all other Box traffic)

-Security (i.e., monitoring and visibility requirements for some traffic but not other traffic)

  9. Enable Tasks in Box Notes

Client is a heavy user of Box Notes (for project plans, team meetings, checklists, lists and other). They'd like to be able to assign tasks related to those lists/activities/other from the Box Note to collabs.

Thank you for the feedback. Adding Tasks to Box Notes is functionality that we are actively researching, but is not currently on the roadmap. Please continue to submit feedback and use cases, and we’ll update if and when this becomes a priority.

  10. Add Support on Adobe Links Files

Creative teams leverage this the most when they are cross-linking between Adobe files into a master file to consolidate auto-updating and auto-pulling of all the assets coming from all the different files.

  12. Allow for users to create custom colors for their folders.

We would like to be able to custom color code their folders.

We will not be supporting custom colors for folders. We’re investigating having visual indicators for certain classifications.

  13. Personal folders created by a service account appear yellow instead of blue

When content creation is restricted and personal folders are created on a users behalf, it would make more sense for the end user to see those folders as yellow instead of blue to indicate that they aren't shared

This is not on our roadmap. We will prioritize other requests which have a higher impact.

  14. Add Boolean Attribute to User object to Indicate Unlimited Quota status

Currently, when querying the User object endpoint there is no way to identify whether the quota for the user has been set to Unlimited, even though Box permits sending a "-1" parameter to set the space_amount.

When the object is returned, the space_amount for an Unlimited quota will vary depending on the total space allocation for our company.

The request is to add a new Boolean attribute, such as "isquotaunlimited" to return this information.

We are not currently planning on adding this new field to the users endpoint in the next few quarters, although we will revisit this feature request in Q3.

For Admins, Content Manager is essentially a visualization of the folder tree.
