For Anonymous users hide names of Create by and Modified By on Box Web
Due to PII concerns please hide the names of created by or modified by when a anonymous user visits the Box Web App and is browsing content or previewing content.

Support for shared links in MCP
Add a shared link resolution tool to the Box MCP server that accepts a Box shared link URL and returns the corresponding file or folder ID and metadata. Shared links are the primary way our users share content in Box, and without this capability, an agent cannot act on a shared link that a user provides directly. Users share links with colleagues as a natural part of their workflow; they should be able to share them with an AI agent the same way.

Allow users to save column width settings in folder view (Box Web and Box Drive)
Description:
Currently, when viewing folders in Box (both Web and Box Drive), the default column widths for fields like "Name" and "Modified Date" are too narrow. Users must manually adjust the column widths every time they open a folder. However, these adjustments are not saved, and the view resets to the default narrow widths.
This causes inconvenience and reduces productivity, especially for users who frequently work with long file names or need to sort by date.
Feature Request:Enable users to save their preferred column widths in folder views.
Apply saved settings persistently across sessions and folders.
Optionally allow administrators to set default column widths for their organization.This feature would greatly improve usability and efficiency for many Box users.

Suggested Prompts with Custom Agent in the Box App for iOS and Android
Currently the AI feature of the Box App for iOS and Android does not include customized suggested prompts with custom agents. I would like to have suggested prompts available on custom agents in the Box App. We've created several custom agents with unique suggested prompts. Without access to these prompts in the Box App, it limits its usefulness to us, or at least requires more effort from the end-user to retrieve what they need.

Leveraging AI for administrative tasks
I’d like to leverage AI to handle administrative tasks, such as identifying users who are barely using Box and removing them if they do not need a license. Right now, I can run a report, but it would be helpful if I could ask AI to show me all low-volume users. I’d also like to be able to look at high-volume users and activity that may indicate something beyond just doing their job.

Add an option to disable/turn off hover link previews in Box Notes
The current hover link preview UI in Box Notes is highly intrusive and significantly disrupts the writing and editing workflow.
When moving the cursor around the document, these previews constantly flicker on and off. The biggest issue occurs when multiple hyperlinks are listed consecutively: the previews pop up and overlap with each other, completely blocking the subsequent text. Users are forced to make extra mouse movements or clicks just to dismiss them and read the text underneath.
Since there is currently no way to turn this feature off, I would like to request the following improvements:
A toggle switch to completely disable the hover preview feature in settings.
A hover delay, so previews only appear if the cursor rests on a link for a certain amount of time.
A UI redesign to ensure previews appear in a non-intrusive location and never overlap or block text.
This improvement is urgently needed for a better and smoother user experience. If you are experiencing the same frustration, please vote for this idea!

Controlling the Visibility of External Collaboration Folders in Box Drive via Admin Settings
We would like administrators to be able to control the visibility of external folders in Box Drive via the Admin Console.

When using Box Drive, the following security risks exist:
・Risk of data leakage due to user error: Files or folders may be accidentally dragged and dropped into external collaboration folders.
・Risk of ransomware spreading to external tenants: If a user falls victim to ransomware, the encryption attack may also affect external collaboration folders belonging to other companies.[Details]
We would like administrators to be able to control the visibility of external folders in Box Drive via the Admin Console. Rather than users configuring this themselves, we want administrators to be able to enforce the hiding of external collaboration folders through Admin settings.
・Control scope: the enterprise level and the group level.
・Target: External Folders
・Control details: Toggle display/hide on Box Drive (access remains available via the web app)
・Configuration permissions: Only administrators can change settings (end users cannot make changes)
・Scope of application: All users at once, or on a per-user or per-group basis[How it works when implemented]
・When an administrator enables “Hide External Folders,” only internal company folders will be displayed in the end user’s Box Drive.
・Access to external collaboration folders remains possible via the Box web app (ensuring business continuity).Please note that the content of this previously published article allows users to choose whether to show or hide external folders, which fails to eliminate security risks;

Need more explanation for "Unknown IP" on User Activity Report
It would be helpful for the User Activity Report to show something like "Box internal IP" or "Legit IP" in the IP Address column when the IP falls into "Use Box’s internal IP address".
Customers sometimes want to know the reason of "Unknown IP" description for their User Activity Report events.
The article: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/4415012490387-User-Activity-Report says "Unknown IP" is shown when the IP address falls into "Spoof an IP address", "Use a VPN proxy", or "Use Box’s internal IP address" situations.If it falls into "Use Box’s internal IP address" situation, customers do not have to worry about it because it is a legit IP address.
If it falls into "Spoof an IP address" or "Use a VPN proxy", they might want to investigate how it happened on their end if needed.
However, they can not find which pattern it falls into from just the "Unknown IP" description.For example, if the User Activity Report shows something like "Box internal IP" for "Use Box’s internal IP address" pattern, customers can tell that they don't have to worry as long as it shows "Box internal IP" since it was kicked by a legit IP address.
This is an improvement request.

Restore Client ID Visibility for Platform Apps
A recent update to the Box UI moved all applications into the “Platform” section of the Admin Console. With this change, the ability to search by Client ID appears to have been removed, and only the application name or Box app owner is shown in the details view.
For larger environments like ours, this will impact efficiency. We manage thousands of custom apps, and Client ID search has been a critical method for quickly searching, reviewing and approving or denying box custom app requests.
This request is to restore Client ID visibility within the app details view or reintroduce Client ID search functionality on the Platform Apps page to support scalable administration.

Show in Box Drive or Reveal in Finder from Box Web
When I am looking at file in Box on a web browser, I want a button that takes me straight to the file in Box Drive/a macOS Finder window. We can already do that in the other direction (see attached, "View on Box.com"); it would be convenient to be able to do this in both directions. I don't know what the Windows equivalent is. Different sort options for different folders
I would like the option to sort my home folder by "Last Accessed" and other folders by "Name". Currently we can only sort one way. Thank you.

If we could toggle an Alpha Numeric sorting feature rather than the current system.
As an institution that has thousands of photos that are already labeled by our current archive system, it would be incredibly helpful to have files be able to be sorted by an alpha-numeric approach. Such as, ST-A1, ST-A2, ST-A3, ST-A110 rather than ST-A1, ST-A110, ST-A2, ST-A3.
I'm suggesting introducing a toggle or dropdown sorting option, as to not mess up current systems. I understand that adding a 0 in front of numbers is the suggested method, however that would not work in this case as it would change the item's ID system. It seems to me that sorting is one of the major frustrations in using box, and an update and adding more options in this area seems appropriate.

Box for Salesforce app: enable conditional display of another record's folder rather than creating a new folder for a particular record
Enable conditional display of another record's folder rather than creating a new folder for a particular record. Ideally, this would be able to be done in the lightning page when you add the Box component to the page, by allowing the admin to select a record field, or a related record's field (not just a label) where the folder id is stored.
Use case: allowing a parent record's folder to show in all of its children so that all of the documents related to the parent are stored in a single place.

API Endpoint to Manage Custom Apps
There are not currently any API endpoints to call for custom apps - ideally there would be the ability to manage scopes, disable/deauthorzie + enable/authorize, delete apps (both server and user auth)

Auto-Generated/System Generated Folder Creation via API
Currently, if your enterprise settings have the 'Restrict Content Creation' setting as enabled, it also stops any root level folders appearing that are generated by Box, such as the "My Sign Requests folder"
My understanding is that this folder's existence makes it so a user doesn't have to specify a folder for the sign request to go into. However, the lack of this folder existing makes it so that you do need to specify a folder for each request. We have many users who would prefer that all of their sign requests are present in the same folder, that leaves me with two current options:
1) Make a new folder for everyone; as well as any future users who get provisioned
2) Perform the following actions for everyone that we want the folder to exist for:a) Perform a managed log in for an affected user
b) Start a Sign Request
c) Back out of the request to generate the folder
d) Log out of the managed log in instanceThen after performing that for everyone, we would re-enable the 'Restrict Content Creation' setting again.
It would have been ideal if we could use the API to generate any of these types of system-generated folders, such as My Sign Requests, My Box Notes, My Canvases, etc. even if the root level creation is restricted to admins.

Create request process to allow certain TLDs to make free accounts
We need to share content with an external party with a .legal email domain
However, this domain is not allowed to make a personal account
As this is not our domain, we can't make it a managed domainThis means we have to use a separate product or a more insecure method to share content with these users.

I would like to be able to adjust the width of items and reorder them on the report status screen.
When checking the report status screen, the author's name and report type are omitted, which is inconvenient. I would like it to allow changing the display width of items to make it easier to check. Also, I want a feature that lets you click on item names to sort items other than the last update date.
