Display folder sizes when sorting by size and support sorting by file count
In Box Web, content can be sorted by “Size,” but the Size column for folders displays the number of files rather than the folder’s storage size.
As a result, even when the contents are sorted by storage size, the screen may display file counts such as “1,000,” “20,” and “600.” This can lead users to mistakenly believe that the contents have not been sorted correctly.
We would like to request the following improvements:・Display the folder’s storage size alongside the file count in the Size column
・Allow users to sort folders by file count in addition to storage sizeThese improvements would make it easier to select targets and estimate processing time for LFO operations, migration, data review, and capacity management. They would also help users assess data volume and potential impact more accurately during security incidents, improving operational efficiency and security governance.

Box Web

Add Ability to Duplicate an Existing Box Form
Please add a feature that allows users to duplicate an existing Box Form, including all fields, structure, metadata mappings, and settings. Users should be able to clone a form, rename it, and make edits without rebuilding from scratch.
Why This Matters
Saves significant time when creating similar forms across departments, programs, or agencies.
Reduces errors by ensuring consistent fields, metadata, and logic across related forms.
Enables scalable templates, especially for public sector workflows like procurement, HR, inspections, grants, benefits, and compliance.
Accelerates PS SE and customer builds, allowing faster demos, labs, and solution rollouts.
Supports versioning needs, since agencies routinely update forms as policies and regulations change.
Impact
Faster solution deployment, higher form adoption, reduced build errors, and more repeatable patterns for enterprise and public sector customers.

Admin-controlled AI model governance
Public sector and other regulated customers need stronger admin governance over Box AI model behavior. While admins can select a primary AI model today, they cannot control what happens if that model becomes unavailable. For FedRAMP, CJIS, and procurement-constrained environments, automatic failover to an unspecified model introduces compliance and risk concerns. Box should allow admins to select a primary (default) AI model, restrict usage to an approved model list, and explicitly define fallback behavior if the primary model goes down: either fail over to an admin-approved backup model or automatically disable Box AI. That the list of AI Providers in the AI settings tab MUST include all families of LLMs This ensures deterministic, compliant AI behavior aligned to agency authorization, vendor approval, and risk management requirements, while preventing exposure to unapproved models.

Box Automate: Local time zone support for date variables
We use Box Automate to move files into daily folders.
Because date/time variables are evaluated in UTC, workflows that run around local midnight (for example in JST) sometimes create folders with the previous day’s date.
We would appreciate it if you could add the following configuration options for the date/time variables used in folder and file names:(1) Ability to specify a time zone (e.g., Asia/Tokyo)
(2) Ability to perform date/time arithmetic (e.g., adding +9 hours to UTC)
<Box Automate:
Box Automate

Add Table Layout and Inline Image Support in Box Hubs Content
We’re evaluating Box Hubs as a replacement for our internal SharePoint-based portal, and we’d like a few additional design capabilities.
Specifically, we’d like
(1) a table-style layout option for presenting information in a structured format.
(2) the ability to paste or insert images directly within Hub content.
These features would help us create clearer, more portal-like pages without relying on external tools.(日本語)

Box Sign: Stop Sign from creating managed (paid) accounts for signers
Problem statement
When someone without a Box account signs a Box Sign request, Box creates an account for them to hold their copy of the signed document and signing log. If their email matches your verified domain and you have auto-enrollment or SSO with auto-provisioning turned on, that account is converted into a paid managed user in your enterprise.Current workarounds:
1. Manually delete the created accounts
2. Turn off auto-provisioning while keeping auto-enrollment and SSO on
3. Turn off auto-enrollment entirely (with auto-provisioning and SSO off)Requested enhancements
Exempt Box Sign account creation from Auto Enrollment. This would be particularly valuable for organizations that send Sign requests to large numbers of their own people who don't otherwise need a Box license

I’d like the workflow error messages to include specific details about what the problem is.
Now that BoxAutomate has been released, I’m really excited about all the new possibilities it will unlock inside Box.
However, with the current specifications, when an error occurs in a workflow, a message is displayed, but it doesn’t tell us what exactly went wrong.
With things the way they are, it’s impossible for us to fix the workflow on our own. It’s like being told, “Something’s broken… somewhere… good luck!”
To enable users to fix errors by themselves, we’d like the error messages to clearly specify the detailed points where the problem occurs
10 votes -
activity report
In the user activity report, when the detail is “Service: Box AI Prod,” the actor is shown as anonymous and the source IP address is unknown, making it impossible to identify from the report whose operation it was or which process initiated it, and thus impossible to determine whether it was unauthorized access.

What process triggered the activity
Who is executing that process

Hubs Draft State/Autosave Feature
Implement a 'Draft' state for Hubs.
Example: A feature to have a Hubs 'auto save' option, once it's been generated. They have some users who may close out of the Hub before hitting 'save' and lose all of their work.

Automatically resize input text within defined Box Sign text fields.
Allow text fields added to a Box Sign document to automatically resize the text based on inputs. When used as form fill fields for signers/approvers, text will wrap or extend outside of defined field size. Additional logic to notify users who are inputting text that their text cannot shrink/scale appropriately would also be beneficial.

Support PIV/CAC Authentication for Box Sign Ready-Sign Links
I am requesting that PIV/CAC authentication is supported in Ready-Sign links.
Without PIV signature requests via Ready-Sign link or Automate, federal agencies are left to templates and manual signature requests. This prevents them from implementing broad, end-to-end workflows that involve compliant signatures (e.g., onboarding and offboarding).

Box Drive built with the new architecture to not move deleted files/folders to the local Recycle Bin
For the new-architecture Box Drive, we have observed that deleting the following types of items primarily moves them to the local and Box Web trash.
・Folders with online status
・Folders with downloaded status
・Files with downloaded statusOne of the reasons customers choose Box is to improve security (prevent information leaks), and they expect to operate in a way that “data is stored locally as little as possible.”
However, once items are moved to the local Recycle Bin, the deletion policies configured for the trash in Box are no longer applied to those items. We feel that the fact that data supposedly deleted on Box Drive in reality still remains locally (in the Recycle Bin) undermines the value of using Box Drive. We are concerned that, after opting in, this results in a state where the overall security level is effectively reduced.
Additionally, items moved to the Recycle Bin can be restored locally (e.g., to the desktop), which results in an extremely inadequate security situation. Therefore, we would like the behavior to be the same as in environments where opt-out is disabled, so that items are not moved to the local Recycle Bin.

Box Shield MIP Integration with GCC High
For customers with GCC High environments (Microsoft), Purview is not currently able to be integrated using the Box Shield integration (as it can be with the commercial version of Purview) to map the MIP Sensitivity labels with Box Shield's classification labels. We would like to see Box Shield to be able to integrate with Purview when it lives in Microsoft's non-commercial environments, including GCC High and DOD.

Want to allow users with 0byte allocated storage to save Box AI Home responses.
We understand that Box AI Home answers cannot be saved when "Allocated Storage" is set to 0 bytes or insufficient — by design.
However, our company requires end users to have 0 bytes of allocated storage, which prevents them from saving AI Home answers. We request that this limitation be removed to improve usability.「割り当て済みストレージ」を0バイトに設定 or 十分な容量が割り当てられていない場合、Box AI Homeの回答を保存できないことはBoxの仕様と伺っています。

Displaying Tag Suggestions to Collaborators
When performing a tag-based search, content owners see tag suggestions automatically populated in the search view as they type the first few characters.
However, users who are not the content owner do not see any suggested terms, so they must already know the exact tags that have been registered.
Because there are many types of tags applied to content across the organization, it is difficult for users to always know all tags accurately.
Even for content they do not own, we would like users to see suggested tag terms during tag search for any tags that are used on content they are collaborating on.

Global filter
Box APPs would benefit from a global filter (a filter on the APP's main page). This filter would allow to see the dashboard in context:
Projects. The app displays all projects, but allows you to drill into individual projects.
Manufacturing: see an overview of all machines and a global status, but allowing to dive into any machine.
HR: getting an overview of how your hiring is doing globally, while also being able to look at individual countries / cities (multiple fields).
The way APPs is organised right now we have to create an APP for each of these views, making it hard to actually keep an overview and introducing a lot of issues when we need to update the dashboards.

Retrieve logs of users who uploaded files via the file request link
The file request link is extremely useful in our daily operations. It is a great feature that allows users without a Box account to upload files to Box. However, under the current specifications, if logging in to Box is not required in the settings, no information about the person who uploaded the file via the file request link is recorded in the logs. This poses a significant problem from an audit and compliance perspective.
For example, if a user enters their email address in the email field at the time of upload, it would be very helpful if that email address could also be displayed in the “details” field of the User Activity Report. This would allow administrators to keep logs of who uploaded files and make the feature much more useful.

In the "Folders and Files" report, I want to get the number of contents for each folder.
When copying or moving content, the process tends to become unstable or more prone to errors as the number of contents in the target folder increases. Therefore, as a countermeasure, there are cases where content is divided into smaller parts and copied/moved multiple times. However, currently, the number of contents per folder, which serves as a basis for this judgment, cannot be obtained from the report.
It would be very helpful if the "Folders and Files" report could also retrieve the number of contents in each folder.
This allows you to identify folders with a large number of items in advance, enabling you to plan copying/moving more safely. It is also believed to contribute to large-scale content migration and improved stability of daily operations.

Enable Metadata Cascading when using the Add Metadata outcome
Description
Allow users to enable metadata cascading when applying the Add Metadata outcome to a folder. This should be a user-selectable option in the workflow builder (for example, a simple "Enable metadata cascading" checkbox for this outcome).
Business Value
Many document-centric processes follow the same pattern:
- A user submits a request through a form.
- A workflow automatically creates a dedicated folder for that request.
- Documents related to the request are uploaded into that folder over time by multiple users.
While workflows can already create the folder and assign metadata to it, there is currently no way to enable metadata cascading as part of the Add Metadata outcome. As a result, newly uploaded files do not inherit the folder metadata automatically.
This creates additional manual work and prevents organizations from leveraging metadata-driven experiences, like Box Apps.
When configuring the Add Metadata outcome for a folder, users should have the option to enable metadata cascadin (and set the overwrite policy).
If selected, in addition to adding the metadatas to the folder, the metadata cascade option should also be set (https://developer.box.com/reference/post-metadata-cascade-policies) :
The metadata template and values applied to the folder will automatically cascade to files within that folder according to the metadata cascading behavior.
Newly added content should inherit the appropriate metadata without requiring additional workflows or manual intervention.Description

Enable Microsoft 365 Copilot in Excel Online for Excel files stored in Box
[English]
We would like Microsoft 365 Copilot in Excel to be available when an Excel file stored in Box is opened and edited with Excel Online from the Box web application.
Currently, users can open Excel files stored in Box using Excel Online and edit them collaboratively. However, the native Copilot functionality in Excel is not available or enabled for these files because the files are stored in Box rather than in OneDrive or SharePoint.
This results in an inconsistent user experience:
- Excel files stored in OneDrive or SharePoint can use the native Copilot features in Excel.
- The same Excel files stored in Box can be opened and edited in Excel Online, but the native Copilot features are unavailable.
- Users must copy or move files to OneDrive or SharePoint if they want to use Copilot in Excel.
- This creates duplicate files, complicates version management, and conflicts with organizations that use Box as their primary content management platform.
The Box Copilot Connector and Box AI Agent in Copilot provide useful capabilities for searching, summarizing, and querying Box content. However, these features are different from using the native Copilot experience directly within an Excel workbook, such as generating formulas, analyzing tables, identifying trends, creating charts, and editing workbook content.
We request that Box work with Microsoft to enable the native Microsoft 365 Copilot experience in Excel Online when users open Excel files stored in Box.
Expected experience:
- A user opens an Excel file stored in Box.
- The user selects “Open with Microsoft Excel Online.”
- Excel Online recognizes the user’s Microsoft 365 Copilot license.
- The Copilot button and Copilot features are available in the workbook.
- Changes made by Copilot are saved directly back to the file in Box without requiring the file to be copied to OneDrive or SharePoint.
This enhancement would allow organizations to maintain Box as their system of record while taking advantage of Microsoft 365 Copilot in Excel. It would also prevent duplicate content and significantly improve productivity for customers using both Box and Microsoft 365.

- 「Microsoft Excel Online
