  2. CAPTCHA localization

When logging into Box via OAuth, a user may be presented with a CAPTCHA challenge. This CAPTCHA challenge is not localized, i.e., it may be presented in a language that does not match the Box customer's account language.

  4. True versioning with Office Integrations

Our users are in Office online documents for several hours as they are working on legal documents. What this does is creates hundreds of versions of one document due to the auto-save feature and eliminates the benefits of versioning because the versions saved are not true versions.

It makes it difficult to see what the previous changes were that the other user made. We need true versioning for forensic value for our legal documents.

  5. True 'Select All' - Expand 'Select All' Beyond Just the Current Page of a Folder

REQUEST: Add an option for 'True' Select All such that when a user performs a Select All (via command+a / control+a), they have a new option to also select all items in the current folder, not just the ones on that current page.

BACKGROUND: When folders have a lot of items, there can be many pages and pages of items. The webapp's current 'Select All' functionality ONLY allows users to select all items from the given page (which is only 20 items for most users since the 'items per page' default is 20, though users can manually increase it to…

  6. Allow per user exemptions for password expiration

This would allow admins to remove automatic password expiration on service accounts or account used solely for third party integration services.

  7. TAGS: User wants to be able to see a tag in their list of "my tags" if they've only applied the tag to content owned by other people.

If a user applies a tag to a document owned by someone else, the tag will not show up in their list of "my tags." The workaround is to keep a dummy document they own to which they apply all tags their using on other people's content.

Thanks for the suggestion! We don’t currently have this update planned for the Tags feature in Box as we look at other ways to help users organize and structure their content.

  9. Native Picture Storage - No More 'Box Notes Images' Folder

Adding a photo to a Box note currently creates a 'Box Notes Images' folder in the parent folder where the Box Note is located. This seems somewhat odd and unintuitive, especially with the shared link permission quirks with the photos.

To resolve this, Box Notes should natively 'store' the pictures within the Box Note itself and not as part of a separate 'Box Notes Images' folder.

  10. Folder transfer takes too long - user loses access

Currently when content is transferred from one owner to another owner, collaborators lose access to the transferred content until the move is complete. Depending on the size of the move it can be an extended period until collaborators can access the content

  11. Prompt for Folder Moves

Add a prompt when moving a folder to ensure a customer wants to perform the action before moving into a folder.

  12. Shared Links - Allow Linking to Specific Page of Document

Example: SlideShare allows you to create a shared link that opens the slides up directly into a specific slide. In this case, slide 10: http://www.slideshare.net/kaz.goto/ss-65352833/10

Box Use Case: I want to give you a link to a multi-slide/document file, but I want you to start on page 5 first.

  13. Visually denote already shared folders as in Shared Folders interface for Group Admins.

When adding folders to groups in new interface, a list of all folders is shown including folders that have already been added. This is confusing and can cause additional workflow, having to go back and forth to see what has and hasn't been added.

This suggestion is not under consideration for the current or future roadmap. We are currently focusing on improving the experience to manage users before we add enhancements to the group management process.

  14. Disable/enable feature announcement notifications on an enterprise level for all users

This would be added to the enterprise settings for default email notifications. The users are receiving many notification and sending out instructions to all of them to change on a user level seems to be out of the question.

This is not a priority at the moment given our roadmap commitments. We will reconsider with additional demand.

  15. Box cannot sync due to invalid character

Files cannot be accessed if there a invalid characters in the file name. If the file is not owned the name cannot be changed and the file is totally inaccessible.

Box should translate the invalid characters to valid ones.

  17. Templates - Restrict Templates to Specific Users/Groups and/or Folder Structures

Metadata templates are currently global across an entire EID. This does not scale well for large organizations with 50,000, 100,000 or more than 200,000 users.

This request is to add 'scope' parameters to Metadata Templates such that a specific template can be restricted to...
    1. A specific set of users
    2. A specific set of Groups
    3. A specific Folder structure

  18. Set default classification for all uploads with Box Classification

When every file is uploaded, set a default Classification value that can be updated manually or via a partner (Netskope, SkyHigh, Titus, etc.).

Default classification label is not planned because it could be misleading to end users. However, to address the concern of content being leaked before it is classified, you can create an access policy applying to “All content without a classification label” in Box Shield.

  19. Metadata Search - Only Show Relevant Templates (That Are Already Applied to Content I have Access To)

Currently the Webapp Search UI filters for Metadata Templates show the user ALL Metadata Templates that are in their EID, regardless of whether the specific user actually has access to any content where that Template is being used.
This leads to a cluttered list of Metadata Templates in the webapp search filters UI when an EID has many Metadata Templates.

  20. Email Notification Frequency Options - Immediate, Daily Digest, Weekly, etc.

Box currently provides email notifications as options for end users to 'subscribe' to email notification alerts when content is uploaded, downloaded, previewed, deleted, or commented on. Box currently only provides one 'type' of email notification: instant (which includes automatic batching when events occur within a few minutes of each other).

REQUEST: Add the ability for users to choose the 'type' of email notification they'd like to enable at the folder level (via Folder Settings):
--Real-time emails (what we already have today)
--Daily digest (1 email per day)
    --Additional weekly option (optional)
