1. Ability to create Powerpoint presentation directly from a template

   Our company has a template that we should use to create PowerPoint presentations. But there is no way to directly create a powerpoint from a template in Box. The templates can either be saved on OneDrive (which beats the purpose of using Box) or on desktop app (which doesn't sync with Box). Currently I have a few workarounds like copy/edit an existing file or create one on desktop and then save the file on Box. In the second option, you have to click on each folder to find the destination folder (which can be many layers deep). However, if I can easily search the destination folder, that would also make it easier to save files created on the desktop app.
   Any suggestions/ideas?

2. Collaborator files from Box Drive not showing up on Box.com

   Ever since we updated our systems to macOS Ventura we've encountered many issues with Box Drive, now we are not seeing files from other collaborators that they report to have synced showing up on other peoples Drive or on Box.com at all. Box Drive has become unreliable lately, and users are being forced to manually upload files via desktop to ensure their files sync. Please fix!

3. Updating versions from Box Drive seems to be critically broken

   Saving over files in box drive used to update cloud with a version, it seems this is being ignored, and cannot be trusted when checking if this update is committed to the cloud. Things have gone seriously wrong with Box Drive integration every since macOS Ventura upgrade.

4. Make it easier to share with Box App Service Accounts or App Users

   It'd be nice to allow users to be able to share with Service Accounts and App Users via the Service Account's application name and the App User's user name like how it works with other users rather than having to directly input the email addresses like "AutomationUser1234567aBC12DeF3g@boxdevedition.com" or "AppUser12345671aB2CDEfgh@boxdevedition.com"

5. Ability to bulk purge items in Trash

   Have the ability for admins to bulk purge items in Trash that meet a specific criteria, like date range. For example, bulk delete all items in Trash that were deleted prior to 1/1/2020.

6. Box Drive Moving a Folder Off of Drive Fully Deletes it From Box for Mac FPE Users, Folder Lock API Enhancements

   For PC Users on Drive (and historically for Mac users), when you move a folder from Box Drive onto your Desktop, it simply makes a copy of that folder and leaves the original in Box.
   However, for Mac Users on the new FPE version of Box Drive, if they move a folder from Drive onto the Desktop, it fully deletes the folder from Box.
   For example, I am an Editor on a Marketing Folder that's owned by the IT Service Account and shared with hundreds of colleagues. I accidentally move this folder from Box Drive onto my desktop (easy mistake to make). Now this folder has been deleted from everyone's Box account. I realize my mistake and place this folder back onto Box. Now I am the owner of the folder and it isn't shared with anyone else.
   I understand that this is a limitation on the Apple side, however this is extremely painful for customers and has lead to a lot of confusion and data loss.

   Originally, I thought the the Folder Lock API could be used to put locks on large company folders so that they aren't accidentally deleted. However, upon further research the folder lock API isn't sufficient. First, the Folder Lock API doesn't waterfall down so you need to apply it to EVERY folder. Second, the Folder Lock API only locks the individual folder and not the files within. So I can still accidentally delete files within the locked folder. Last, the Folder Lock API experience on Drive differs from the Web. On Drive if I'm the folder Owner, then I cannot delete the folder. However, if I'm a folder editor then if I move the folder, it allows me to move it off of Drive and just removes me as a collaborator. On the Web, editors and co-owners don't even see the delete button as an option!

7. Need Permission level between Viewer/Uploader and Editor

   Viewer/Uploader is good, but, not good enough for all use cases; and Editor is too much--especially for external collaborators.

   External collaborators need to be able to fix problems they accidentally create (e.g. uploading the wrong file) or wanting to change the name of a folder when they realize that the current name may be confusing (who hasn't done that?).

   I agree with others' comments that there needs to be a permissions level between Viewer/Uploader and Editor. I can see at least four possible solutions:

   1) Allow collaborators to rename a folder/file. This could help with the accidental upload as well since they could add some text to the file/folder name to reflect that it needs to be discarded (e.g., _DISCARD) to make it obvious for clean up later. This adds more maintenance on the editor, but, would be better than nothing.

   2) Allow the ability to 'Move' (not delete) a file/folder (say, into an Archived or Discarded folder where external collaborators can move folders/files they created in error.

   3) Allow them to mark something as 'discard' (maybe a toggle) that automatically sorts them to the top or bottom for maintenance; or, could automatically put these files/folders into a secondary folder, called DISCARDED (similar to DELETE, but, the editor would have to actually delete them from the DISCARDED folder (or they can auto delete at some timeframe). At least they'd be out of the way and the editor can easily look in there to see what is there. It would prevent accidental deletions as external collaborators should be able to recover items from the DISCARDED folder.

   4) Give the admins the ability to create a customized role where they can add capabilities beginning with some permission level. For example, I can start with Viewer/Uploader and create Viewer/Uploader Plus, which has all the Viewer/Uploader permissions PLUS what you want to add, in my case, Move and/or Rename files/folders.

   Basically, Viewer/Uploader is good, but, not enough for all use cases. And, Editor is WAY too much--especially for external collaborators.

8. Logging in to Box from a shared link should not redirect to home

   With the current iteration of Box, when you follow a shared link while not logged in, the only way to log in is to click "Go to My Account" which directs you to your home page on your Box Account. This requires re-following the link again to get to the shared item as a logged in user. This adds several additional clicks to the simple task of following a shared link from an internal email regarding new comments on an item, for example.

   This was not the case in the past, where there was a "Log In to My Account" button that would log you in and redirect back to the page you were on previously. I'm not sure why that functionality was changed to this far inferior version. I am unable to think up a use case where a user is on any page on Box while not logged in and would want to log in only to be directed to the home page rather than the page they were on which required them to log in in the first place.

10. Shortcut for creating code block

    It would be a great improvement to be able to create the code blocks while typing with keyboard shortcuts (or short-words). Quite standard across editors is for example the triple backtick (```).
    I see it already works for numbered lists (you just need to type "1. ") or quote by typing "> ".

12. Collaboration Report - Add Last Accessed Column

    Box Admin frequently runs reports on all external collaborators who they work with and wants to remove external collaborators from files that they haven't accessed in awhile. Wants to be able to run a report that filters to all external collaborators and allows you to see the files that they are collaborated on AND the last date that they accessed those files. This will help the admin determine if an external collaborator can be removed from a file. The collaborator report allows you to do most of this. However, the Collaborator report is missing a "last accessed" column. The request is to add "Last Accessed" as a column to the Collaborations Report.

13. Edit User Access permissions - View Options Needed

    It would be great to see the following enhancements made to the Edit User Access permissions section of the User page; specifically the 'Select folders this user can access' section:
    1) Allow for columns to be Expanded to see the entire folder name
    2) Include a sort option to these columns in order to sort by folder name, owner, file size, or Access level.

15. The version log on the right should make document type immediately evident

    When version history is displayed on the right, no indication of version type (docx or pdf) is given, other than the file size, from which an inference might be made. I told my co-workers I'm a "version nazi"--that is, I'm against starting a new Box document when we've finalized a Word document as a PDF. I want them to stack the PDF version(s) right on the old versions so that ALL versions of a specific document--whether docx or pdf--are in the same Box document. But to make this more palatable, it would help if a user could readily see file types for each version. A screen shot would help, but I can't see a way to add one.

16. Simple Search AND Advanced Search

    Box Search has its uses, but seems to be lacking a lot of basics I would have thought common. Given the wide ranging uses that customers seem to have, it makes sense to have more options opened up. More new Features are nice, but existing and frequently used Features like Search should really be refined.

    The Simple Search is definitely helpful for some, but it looks like a lot of people are not satisfied with its the current state. Sorting is lacking. Filters are lacking. Why not include an Advanced Search function which includes what numerous Users have been reporting as 'missing' over the last couple of years?

    Additionally, instead of Box having to keep up with all manner of file types, why not include the option for Users to input the specific file extension they are looking for? (On that note, include the ability to create Saved Searches.)

    Or, instead of only filtering by arbitrary File Size ranges, also allow Users to specify a specific File Size or range themselves. FYI. 0-1MB is a very wide range.

17. Folder-level "custom terms of service"

    Is it possible to only setup "Custom Terms of service" on specific sub-folders for external collaborators? Or is this setting only account-wide??

    Use case:

    We have a dataroom set up, and some external collaborators have problems accessing the "login custom terms of service" NDA and logging into Box. The notification emails from the system are often sent to their spam folder.

    We can send an NDA via the "e-sign" feature, but don't want our external collaborators to then have to accept it a 2nd time when they come to a (separate, for NDA e-signers) dataroom folders.

    Can we setup a folder-level NDA/Custom terms of service? then we can have 2 versions of the dataroom.

    1 has the click-through NDA/custom terms of service

    2 is for people who e-sign the NDA, and then can enter without having to do a "clickthrough custom terms of service/NDA" a 2nd time

    Our box Enterprise consists of a holding company and multiple organizations under the holding company. Having the ability to brand at multiple levels and have that brand be respected consistently.

19. Selective Bulk Trash Restoration

    Enable the ability to further filter trash folders by folder path and date deleted and perform a bulk operation to restore affected files. Alternatively allow a view to see a full list of all deleted items, rather than the smaller pages.

    The current bulk method is to restore all deleted items in trash. In organizations where the trash retention is set to never auto-delete, trashed files are maintained indefinitely which can create a very large trash folder for users. We do not want to restore files and folders for all time, just a select period.

    Example:
    Files below a specific folder structure Main>Tier>* (folder or file) were deleted by a user inadvertently. There were 70+ pages of files in that user's trash folder out of 164 that needed to be fully restored. The only method to do so was to highlight each page and restore page by page. Instead, filtering by the relevant criteria including deleting user, date, and folder structure affected, then bulk restoring all files identified would save significant time.

20. Folder setting: enable/disable file request

    Feature that allow owner/co-owner of folders to enable or disable file request in the folder setting.

    Currently, users can generate file request link in any folders with editor permissions. Some enterprise want to control (disable) usage of file request at the top-level folders depending on intended use.
    e.g. disable file request link in [internal-only] folder.
