Customizable Disclaimer Box When First Accessing Box AI
Would like to have a customizable box that an end user could check that they have read when first using Box AI - this box could point to our AI governance and terms. Ideally, they check that they've read the disclaimer and can then us Box AI against their files.

Admin View for Large Content Moves
Iterating on a feature request ["Indicators / Progress Bar for Large Folder Operations (Moves, Ownership Transfers, Delete, Copy)"]
It would be great for an admin to have a holistic view of content moves across the enterprise. A report with triggered moves in progress could be a good start (including triggering action/user, folder ID and name, etc), with an eye toward a progress bar or something more detailed in the admin console.

JSON file with metadata template field names for Doc Gen.
We are using metadata to build documents using Doc Gen. The issue we constantly struggle with is building the template tags in the Doc Gen template from the fields in the metadata template. We don't know the exact field name to use in the JSON file so it requires some trial and error. It would be very helpful to generate the JSON file from the metadata template in the format needed to create the Doc Gen template tags.

Way to close any open editing sessions.
It would be beneficial to have a way to close any open editing sessions.
We have run into this issue multiple times where sessions are stuck open, and folks are unable to remove or edit documents, do to this issue.

Accessing Box files in Office apps with passcode enabled(iOS)
The Files App + Box integration does not support the app-specific password at this time, so we cannot reach Box from the Office apps.
A workaround is to disable the passcode, but this is not advisable as it reduces the security level of your device.
Employees who do not have PCs and work outside the office cannot use the system, which is causing disruption to work.
4 votes -
Add repeatable sections to forms
Would be great to see repeatable sections in the forms.
So for example you have a set of fields related to some entity, and the user can add multiple entries of this entity by hitting to add additional sections with the same fields in it.

Bulk change link permissions for subfolders and files
As it stands if you create a folder with shared link permissions to be invited people only and then you add files and subfolders, if you change the permissions of the parent folder to change to anyone in your company, they don't propagate, nor do files added after inherit the parent folders permissions which were changed previously. It would be good if when making a change that you are prompted to allow waterfall permissions to subfolders and files or to not. I know this can be done with CLI, but there should be an easier way for end users to…
1 voteThank you for the insights. At the movement each shared link is viewed as a individual unit. We will continue to gather interest in such a capability to perform bulk actions.

There's no need for the "Launching Application" popup... I know its opening, I just clicked for it to open...
When selecting “Open With” and opening a file this notification pops up:
Launching Application
... is opening in Adobe Acrobat. Saving your file will save changes directly back to
Box.Lock file to prevent others from editing it
This is not necessary. It adds no functionality. I KNOW its opening, I just asked it to open by clicking OPEN. Then I have to click CLOSE to move on to the next step?
I understand the "Lock file to prevent others from editing it" might be useful to someone who is opening their own file and forgot to lock it, but…

Box Shield: "Read Only" Security Control setting
In Box Shield, add a Security Control setting that locks the folder and effectively puts the folder in a read-only mode, disallowing edits and uploads, no matter what the collaborators' permission levels are (except Admin, obviously).
This way, it's possible to give users a "lower" permission level to a subfolder without affecting their elevated permissions in the parent folder.

Generating/Copying-to-clipboard multiple shared links at once through file explorer
Egnyte, one of Box's competitors, gives users the ability to select multiple documents in file explorer to then generate their respective shared links all at once. These links (and the document titles) are then copied to the clipboard and can thus be easily distributed.

Splitting up who has editor permissions and who can publish in Box Hubs.
When operating Box Hubs, there is a need for a system in place where after multiple people edit a hub, the edits are not immediately made public, but rather are checked by an appropriate authority before being made public.
This is currently possible in SharePoint, but not in Box Hubs.
Hopefully, by further dividing up the roles of those with authority, it will become possible to carry out the above operations.2 votes -
Ability to delete folders in the new Content Manager
In the previous Content Manager, you could delete both folders and files, but in the new Content Manager, you can only delete files.
Especially in controlled tenants, administrators may want to delete user-owned folders after a free account is rolled up to the tenant.
It has become very inconvenient because it is no longer possible to delete folders, which was previously possible from the Content Manager. We would like the functionality to be improved so that folders can be deleted just like in the previous Content Manager.

Box AI Limitations in Hubs
We use Hubs to organize our monthly reporting packages. Some information in the packages are stored in tables. Box AI does not accurately return this information when prompted. Box AI works well for this information outside of Hubs. We need this "known issue" to be resolved so we can confidently use Box Hubs to curate our reporting packages.

AI returning inaccurate information from tables
We keep monthly reporting packages in a Hub for each office. Some information in the reports is stored are in tables. We need box AI to accurately retrieve this information from the documents in the Hub, when prompted. AI works well for this outside a Hub. This is a known issue but makes Box AI much less useful for us.

MSP access
We use a managed service provider for help desk support. It would be useful to be able to add management with limited access to set permissions and to reset passwords and 2fa. We don't want to use full Box license or permit access to company data

auto classification policies/engine to apply scanning of files within a compressed file
Extend auto classification policies to compressed files (content within the zip) as well and have shield policies be able to enforce rules established for certain classifications. If something inside the unprotected compressed file is detected according to the auto classification policies, apply the same classification to the compressed file so the shield policies are adhered to.
Without this, shield policies can be bypassed by simply zipping a file that would have triggered shield policy as the scan doesn't currently scan files within the compressed file.

Make file versioning the default behavior for Box CLI "box files:upload" command
if file versioning is the default behavior when uploading files in the URL Box web page; Why isn't that exactly the same behavior when uploading files thru the "box files:upload /path-to-file/filename.ext --parent-id FolderID" box CLI command?
The logic is straight forward:
1) If the file does not exist in the box folder, then create the file
2) If the file DOES exist in the box folder, then instead of displaying that horrible warning message "409 Conflict, the file already exists", please update the content of the file and increase the FILE version number.
