1. Allow System Administrators to download pkgs/msi's for all OS without being redirected on your site.

   Hello!
   I am unable to download the regular box drive pkg on my m1 mac. I am a system administrator who needs to download all pkgs/msi in order to support the business. I shouldn't have to use an intel based m1 mac just to download a pkg to upload to jamf.

   My suggestion would be to put direct links to the intel mac pkg on this page and the m1 pkg as well.

   User groups belong to the production, and production-ready applications are not supported.
   Therefore, we cannot invite groups to folders in production.

3. Allow AppUser in developer sandbox to use API to create metadata instances in folders in production.

   Metadata is set up in folders in our production via API by AppUser in the developer sandbox.
   However, metadata templates belong to the production, and production-ready applications are not supported.
   Therefore, we can set item values for the configured metadata instances, but we cannot create metadata instances.

5. Auto-notify collaborators when a file is uploaded to a folder

   The folder owner should be able to create an email notification for all subscribers to the folder to receive a notification when a new file is uploaded to Box.

   The email would be sent to the user's email on file for that Box folder. The user would not have to update his/her own settings. The folder owner would set notifications, and the user would have to turn them off if too frequent.

   The scenario is that a shared Box folder with <10 users. The users are generally infrequent users of Box, so do not proactively check on the folder frequently. A push notification (email) that something is updated will help an Admin significantly to manage the project and ensure that everyone knows the new data was uploaded.

8. Convert comment to task

   Comments in Box Preview are helpful, but sometimes need to be able to be converted into tasks. Rather than creating a new entry, it would be helpful to right-click or use a dropdown to convert the existing comment into a task automatically.

10. Tag permission levels

    There should be a way to customize permission level based on the tag on a case. For example, within a folder the tag "confidential" should lower the the permission level to not allow the person to download or view the item.

11. Limit editing to 'On the Web' only or blocking box sync form folders

    We have Excel files that a group of users over 8 different sites make moves adds and changes every day. we have box sync which doesn't lock the file, the agreed access for these teams is via the web and web excel only... But some users who know better only use excel via box sync so we end up with errors and staff saying box is no good...

    We think it would be great to be able to create a Collection of specific folders. Then utilize a Collection only Search. It would be great to even include it as a Metadata option. Allowing users to search across collections via a Collection Specific Metadata Template.

13. Option to turn off or remove the Sign Up or Log In screen when clicked on shared links

    I would like the option to turn off or remove the Sign Up or Log In screen when my client clicked on my shared links. This pop-up window confuses them and leading them to think they must Sign Up or Log in in order for them to view and download my shared documents.

    If my client like your product structure, I am sure they will sign up for an account themselves without the need to prompt them every time. This effect my business as I have received many complains about this window. They recommend for me to use other methods.

    I like your product and would like to continue my business with you. However, if this simple window is driving my customers away, I might have to reconsider my method of contents sharing.

15. (Box Alternate domain) link from Box Drive

    Looking forward an option to setup Box Drive to generate shared links with the (Box Alternate domain) URL by default.
    We heavily work with factories in China and for them to access shared files, we need to modify URL from "box.com" to (Box Alternate domain) manually everytime when we generate links from Box Drive.
    Note: we know we can generate (Box Alternate domain) links from web platform when we login via (Box Alternate domain). We are specifically looking for a feature to setup Box Drive links to be (Box Alternate domain)

16. Watson integration

    It has been a real torture to be able to integrate box with watson discovery, first because of the authorization issue, second, once we have the new authorized app there is no way to have a UI to access it easily. second when we try to integrate watson discovery absolutely nothing appears.

    The documentation is not clear from both watson and Box.

17. Working on same file simultaneously

    Possibility in Box Drive - (and also in any other application (online, app,..))- to lock a file (e.g. Excel file) automatically as soon as one user is in the document.
    Therefore, if the next user wants to open the same file while one user is already working on it, it gets immediately a message like "Read only". As soon as the user is out of the file, and no user has opened the file, whoever wants to open it, can open it without any warnings in editor mode.

    Would like to elect to have a timed log out option. For example if you set 10minutes or 1hr of inactivity you would be automatically logged out like a banking website.

19. Recommend a new permission level that is the same access as "Viewer" but the "Viewer" to share at the same level

    The sharing level of "Viewer" is beneficial to share approved documents through Duke Box. In our capacity the information in the approved document that is shared with the owner as "Viewer" should also be accessible to other individuals that the owner deems appropriate so these individuals know exactly want is approved, what is expected of them, and how to remain compliant. Because we issue the approval and maintain the final document and do not manage the owners group that needs access to the approved document, it would be very beneficial if, after the document owner gets "Viewer" permission to the document, they can further share that document/folder within their group/team as needed with the same or more strict permission.

    The sharing level of "Viewer" is beneficial to share approved documents through Duke Box.     Recommend an automated, timed backup onto a secure Duke folder for ToolKit folders/files to improve deleted file recovery options for a team. Now it appears that recovery of files that were deleted in a shared Duke Box Toolkit folder can only be recovered by the individual that deleted the file (not the co-owner or admin without the assistance of the individual that performed the deletion). For critical files this is a security risk to just store the files on the Box Drive because it severely limits identifying and recovering deleted files. The individual that deletes the file could do it accidentally or purposefully and others (e.g., Toolkit co-owners) may not know or have the capability to recovery the files. Furthermore, if the individual that deleted the file were still at Duke and corporative, we may be past the window for file recovery. Having a more secure back-up to recover critical deleted files would be beneficial.
