1. Feature requests

   I wish Box notes were more like DropBox Paper. Top things I like:

   • The editor is essentially a live Markdown editor so nearly all formatting doesn’t require leaving the keyboard.
   • Full support for Markdown export.
   • Comments can be attached to each paragraph - so much better than the one thread per Box note.
   • Links are properly clickable without the silly ‘link bubble’
   • Auto-generated ToC

7. Please add a new way to change the maximum cache size of Box Drive without having to make a personal registry change.

   In Box Drive, as described in the link below, Modifying the maximum cache limit requires a registry change.
   However, in many companies, end users do not have the skills or authority to modify the registry.

   We would like you to work on a way to achieve this other than by changing the registry when modifying the maximum cache limit.

   Ability to search for Box files from the Mac OS Spotlight Search feature. Allow all files/folders I have access to in Box/Drive to surface in the search functionality on my Mac desktop.

9. Change File Request to accept emails that begin with a number

   File request currently flags an email that begins with a number as an invalid email and won't let the user continue with that email. Please update to accept emails that begin with a number.

10. Sort order when User Activity reports filter is selected.

    The content is sorted by content ID, but since it cannot be sorted, visibility is poor, so we want to sort by name, etc.

11. (Box Alternate domain) link from Box Drive

    Looking forward an option to setup Box Drive to generate shared links with the (Box Alternate domain) URL by default.
    We heavily work with factories in China and for them to access shared files, we need to modify URL from "box.com" to (Box Alternate domain) manually everytime when we generate links from Box Drive.
    Note: we know we can generate (Box Alternate domain) links from web platform when we login via (Box Alternate domain). We are specifically looking for a feature to setup Box Drive links to be (Box Alternate domain)

12. Mark comments as resolved

    Love the direct comments/annoations on the file because, when I'm providing feedback, I can circle where I'm referring to and then insert my comment. But when the owner makes the change, the comment is still on the slide. Owners should be able to mark the comment as resolved which hides the comment.

14. Add fixed-width font options

    Ticket # INC4849532 - Customer wants to use Box Notes to write documents that contain code-snippets and excerpts from logs. They would like to use a fixed-width font for these snippets, but Box Notes doesn't allow them to select font and there's no style for fixed-width.

    Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, we are unable to prioritize this in our current roadmap, but will keep this in our radar.

15. Limit the use of specific metadata templates to specific folders and specific user-owned content.

    When using metadata, it is important to gain the benefits of adding and managing metadata templates, but at present, anyone with authority can use any metadata template.
    You can manage your content more sophisticatedly by limiting the use of specific metadata templates to specific folders.

16. Whitelisting Access Using Managed User Groups

    Companies frequently hire contractors and provide them with company email addresses to access internal networks and applications. This creates an issue with contractors having visibility into an entire folders and not just the projects/folders that apply to them. Shield's whitelisting capabilities allow us to limit external email domains, but because contractors are given a company email domain the whitelisting capabilities do not apply.

    We would like to be able to create a "Consultants" Managed User Group and whitelist access to break waterfall permission for internal Managed User Groups.

18. Retain annotations in subsequent version(s) of a document

    We use annotations when a group of us is proofing and suggesting edits to a document. When we're finished, when the designer makes our edits to the document, and then uploads a new version. Unfortunately, once the new version is uploaded, unlike general comments, the annotations are gone so we can't check in our changes. It would be great if you could make it possible to view annotations from the previous version of a document. Right now, the only workaround is to avoid using annotations, or to open the previous version of the document in a separate browser window and compare the windows side by side. Thanks!

    We currently do not have this planned on our roadmap. Please keep the feedback & use cases coming to help us prioritize this in the future!

19. Make available an email address that consists of only numbers

    In our file request settings, the "Email address" is set as mandatory.
    Users whose email address consists of only numbers will be marked "Invalid email address" and will not be able to upload.
    In the current specification, users of companies that use email addresses consisting of only numbers cannot upload.

    Make sure that an email address consisting of only numbers is recognized as a valid email address.
