Google-Box Integration: Allow "Add to Box" for files over 25GB sent via email
My team uses Box for Gmail and enjoys the functionality. However, when they’re receiving an incoming email with a file attached over 25GB, Google converts this file into a link instead of keeping it an attachment. When they click the Box integration to save it to Box, they can’t, because it’s a link and won’t show up as an option to upload into Box. Is this something the Box team can fix/work around?
5 votesGlad you are enjoying the Box for Gmail integration! Unfortunately, the 25GB behavior is a limitation on the Google side, meaning Box cannot do anything to fix this. Please reach out to your Google account team to get it prioritized on their roadmap.

Linked file support on Mac
Certain applications that run on Mac, such as Adobe Creative Cloud apps and InDesign, require linked file access in order to work properly across collaborators.

Upload more than photos in Box Mobile for iPhone
We need an option to upload directly from Files app/Microsoft products via the Box Mobile App. Currently you can only upload boxnotes and photos directly from the Box Mobile app and to upload anything else you must go to a particular app and upload it from there.
On Android you can do this, why not iPhone?

Transfer Ownership Enterprise Event
Currently, when you delete a user the only way to show that the content from one user to another user in the enterprise events are track two separate events:
- UPLOAD (Creation of the new folder with the user's naming convention)
- MOVE (From unknown location/user, to the new folder)This mean you needs to track the newly created parent.name and the move event with the item.name. I'm proposing two potential enhancements:
1) Enhance the MOVE event to show the source user/item details AND target user/item details.

Additional approval for large delete actions
We'd like the ability to add an optional multi factor authentication or admin approval while deleting files or folders above some specific amount data e.g 50 GB.

Customize watermark to include version, update date
I’d like to use the watermark or a similar feature to print the Version Number and Last Update Date on PowerPoint and PDF files. I understand you can view this in Version History, but I’d like to see it super-imposed on the content.

Download 'cart' or 'shopping basket'
A basket feature would be nice – Sometimes we have to select one or two files from multiple folders, and to have a basket as placeholder before downloading would be useful.
This be something similar to like when you online shop. Instead of “buying items” you are selecting the items you want to download from different locations and then selecting download.

Additional skill triggers
Currently when a file is uploaded in box it will trigger skills that have been registered to the folder (or parent folder). For more complex skill interactions where multiple skills are registered to the same folder, it would be ideal if there were additional triggers like a trigger for a file being viewed, or a trigger for metadata being updated.

Provide a single API method to upload a file and apply metadata as an atomic operation
Unified Upload API (File and Metadata) - Having a single API call to upload a file (or file(s)) with associated metadata would provide large improvements in error avoidance and development logic. Currently, this process must be completed with multiple API calls, which leaves space for errors and sullies the user experience.

Indicate whether a user is a managed user or app user in Admin event stream
Adding a parameter in the Admin event stream which indicates whether the user that took an action was a managed user or app user would make it more efficient for administrators or analytics tools to separate activity by the different user types. In an active enterprise the volume of events may be very great, and having this additional level of specificity would simplify reporting.

Allow uploading of files to locked NetSuite records
NetSuite workflows or script can lock a record, typically for approval purposes. Box file behavior should follow standard NetSuite file cabinet attachment behavior, namely, attachment permission is separated from the lock record function, so that files can still be attached, deleted, or renamed in Box on locked NetSuite records.

Hide admins/co-admins and owners/co-owners from collaborators
We would like a way to hide owners/co-owners, or potentially admins/co-admins, from the default view of collaborators on the right side preview panel.
We have a closed folder structure where admins & co-admins own content. Due to this. anytime a user is pre-viewing content in the webapp, the quick list of collaborators on the right hand panel shows the admins and doesn’t show other editors in the folder. This makes it difficult for them to quickly assess who is part of the folder without clicking into the collaborator view, since it always shows the admins/co-admins (owners/co-owners) by default. Indefinite retention for top level, Finite retention for sub-folders
Ability to have an Indefinite retention policy as a top level folder and Finite retention policies on sub-folders. Sub folders should by default inherit from the parent, but if listed in another policy then the sub folder should be able to override the default
a. This would prevent having to have separate folder trees for Indefinite and Finite policies
b. The parent could be ‘Work in Progress’ and then just move to a sub folder…keeps the documents more logically organized by department

Add option to cancel workflow, move files to trash automatically on reject
On rejecting, the workflow options are to go back to a previous step or to complete the workflow. However, if you reject, you may want the workflow to end and if the file has been rejected you certainly don't want to save it to the approved files directory (this has happened to us recently and caused a problem with a customer). On rejecting there should be a different option - to cancel the workflow and trash the files or auto-select a "rejected documents trashbin folder" in order to avoid accidentally saving rejected files to an approved files directory. Ability to not add "http://" Box Notes hyperlink if user enter protocol like "Notes://"
Some user would like to set Lotus notes link like "Notes"//" as a hyperlink but "http://" is added. Therefore the link becomes "http://Notes://'". currently, there is no way to avoid adding "http://".
