Watson integration
It has been a real torture to be able to integrate box with watson discovery, first because of the authorization issue, second, once we have the new authorized app there is no way to have a UI to access it easily. second when we try to integrate watson discovery absolutely nothing appears.
The documentation is not clear from both watson and Box.

Working on same file simultaneously
Possibility in Box Drive - (and also in any other application (online, app,..))- to lock a file (e.g. Excel file) automatically as soon as one user is in the document.
Therefore, if the next user wants to open the same file while one user is already working on it, it gets immediately a message like "Read only". As soon as the user is out of the file, and no user has opened the file, whoever wants to open it, can open it without any warnings in editor mode.2 votes -
Timed logout out option with inactivity
Would like to elect to have a timed log out option. For example if you set 10minutes or 1hr of inactivity you would be automatically logged out like a banking website.

Recommend a new permission level that is the same access as "Viewer" but the "Viewer" to share at the same level
The sharing level of "Viewer" is beneficial to share approved documents through Duke Box. In our capacity the information in the approved document that is shared with the owner as "Viewer" should also be accessible to other individuals that the owner deems appropriate so these individuals know exactly want is approved, what is expected of them, and how to remain compliant. Recommend an automated, timed backup onto a secure Duke folder for ToolKit folders/files to improve deleted file recovery options for a team. Now it appears that recovery of files that were deleted in a shared Duke Box Toolkit folder can only be recovered by the individual that deleted the file (not the co-owner or admin without the assistance of the individual that performed the deletion). For critical files this is a security risk to just store the files on the Box Drive because it severely limits identifying and recovering deleted files. We have found that most of our clients use google drive for storage of content for us to work with. We could really use a tool that assists us in transfers direct from google drive to our Box

Add a 'description' for folder and files at the top of the page, just below the folder/file name.
A description of the folder at the top of the page will save time for our users, stakeholders and team members. It can be used as a way to describe what a user can expect to find in a given folder; and if this option extends in all sub-folders and files, it can help save a lot of time, bandwidth, and storage.
The following format example will work well:
Account name > Project name > Research files

Nested folders
With the current collections capability, it looks like collections don’t have any organization within them. If you wanted to organize things into “folders” within your projects you’d have to title collections all at the top level with a naming that implied a hierarchy in order to map shared items into groupings one layer of organization down. Something like:
Collections:
Project1-folder1
Project1-folder2
Project1-folder3
Project2-folder1
…I would have preferred to build an arbitrary folder tree and place shared items into specific places in my folder hierarchy.
Obviously it would be more useful if this organization was available in Box Drive too.

Password Protect Folders Designated as "Invited People Only" Collaborators
I would like to add passwords to folders that are tagged as "Invited People Only" to increase the level of security on the content. I would like to create a folder that is shared only with invited people, and also add a password for the folder to ensure content is as secure as possible, e.g., pre-lease earnings reports, HR terminations, pending litigation, etc.

Please Improve the overwriting of a file with the same name when it is uploaded with "Previewer/uploader" permission.
Please improve the following problems that occur when using the "Pre Viewer/ Uploader" privilege.
When a file with the same name as an existing file is uploaded, the file is overwritten and saved.
When a user with the "Pre Viewer/ Uploader" privilege uploads the same file name, Please the file name should be automatically converted to a different file name from the existing file, such as "File Name_2", so that it can be uploaded.

Save a Search Query as a Collection
When you search, have an option to save the search query as a Collection that then gets dynamically updated.
Good use case: search query for "Folders Created Today" and save that as a Collection (or some other entity in Box).
Other platforms do this with search already and users enjoy it!

external share
Need the ability to provide some users/groups to create external shares for a longer or indefinite period of time. If we have a long range project I have to disable to option to control how long a share stays out there - that in my opinion is a security risk.

[ACCESSIBILITY] Enable preview with non-embedded captions
Currently video player requires subtitles to be embedded in the video file. It would be a great enhancement to adopt the industry standards and enable captions to be in a different file (same filename, different extension) on the same folder. That would simplify the work to be done when publishing a video with captions.

Adding a granular sharing option for Annotations
I would like to use annotations as a personal note. It would be great if an annotation is not shared with anyone by default and a user can choose an option to share/show it with collaborators.

Taskbar icon overlay for Box Drive to indicate if there are any "Problem Items"
Currently for Box Drive (for Windows) you have to go into the program then Box Drive Settings to view if there are any problem files. Most users will never do this.
Ideally there should be a red exclamation overlay on the taskbar icon if there are any problem files and they should be shown immediately when you click to open Box Drive.
This would help end users to see that not all their files are syncing and then ideally also show them the local path of the problem file (that they can click on to access) AND also give them…

Enhance feedback when a user unlocks a file locked by another user
There is no warning given if a user unlocks a file which has been locked by another user.
Currently we have users who are locking files, while they edit content in desktop Office apps, but other users are unlocking as they also have to make urgent changes. This is causing a conflict of edits and loss of changes.
If a user, other then the person that locked a file, unlocks a file then there should be a warning message displayed that asks for confirmation before the unlock is implemented.
