Be able to sort tag search results by name, not just "relevance" and "updated"
When you search for a tag, your only options to sort the results are by "relevance" and "updated". It would be VERY helpful to be able to sort by name on a tag search.

Support for "custom domains" (not just sub-domains).
Add support for custom domains (not just sub-domains). We already use the sub-domain, but we find that box.com is blocked by counter parties, for security/DLP reasons
Having this ability would more easily allow other firms to white list our site without opening up ever Box account under the sun.

We would like the ability to put a specific Matadata as our home page.
We would like the ability to select certain Matadata as our home page. This would allow for us to really customize our home page to our specific needs and the ability to adjust it easily, vs using the favorites.

Box Shield
Can we have more granular on the detection rules, e,g, down to user groups, or individual account level - allowing customers to set priorities as high for some user groups, but low for others. For some users, a customer may expect high levels of downloads/activity in Box and this may be in peaks and troughs - therefore potentially a lower priority, whereas with execs this activity should be treated as a higher priority and greater risk.

Rethink Box Notes as a Collaborative Tool
Many of the comments about Box Notes, and the shortcomings that make them seem only marginally useful to me, arise from them being treated/implemented as something totally "other", compared to other file types that one might load into Box.
Unlike other files, Box acts as if Notes all belong together rather than in the user's folder structure, and they have their own type of page or tab that is confusingly different from the standard Box interface, rather than simply opening up in an editing window if the user wants to make changes. An editing window would be much more intuitive, and would help users not lose track of where they started in the folder structure.
As for editing, Box Notes should have roughly the same capabilities as e-mail or a blog post. I've seen some snarky replies from Box staff about how Notes are not intended for creating flyers or complex page layouts -- what a ridiculous response to the formatting suggestions. Just provide the formatting capabilities that people might have expected from e-mail or a blog editor (or even a discussion forum) say, 5 years ago. That means table and cell shading, more than 3 or 4 sizes of fonts (and a monospaced "code" font as someone else suggested, more than 16 rather light and garish colors, and probably bullet and numbered lists. And maybe inclusion of an image, but even that would be a luxury.
Box will never be a real collaboration tool in the general sense, but if Box Notes can be Not-Confusing and can accommodate lists, a little more font-size control, and some color in tables for legibility or emphasis, then the Notes can be used more effectively for collaborative outlining, planning, status-tracking, etc.

Ability in Box Drive to have documents physically stored on PC or external driver
In Box Drive it would be good that the documents are physically on our PC in offline mode, not just a memory copy (metadata).
31 votesThere’s an ongoing private beta for external drive support on macOS. We’ll share more details as progress is made.
For the other request: with Box Drive on Windows, you can mark files and folders for offline use, and that content will be downloaded to your device. Starting with Box Drive for Windows v4.27, even if you quit Box Drive, all downloaded content remains available on disk and can be opened and edited.

Add Sharing info to permissions descriptors for Owner/Co-Owner and Editor
Add Sharing info to permissions descriptors.
Share for Owner/ Co-Owner and Editor also includes the ability to InviteShare for Viewer Uploader and Viewer only allows you to share a link to people in the folder. So essentially they can only ’share’ with people it has already been share with.
I’d like to see either:
- Add Invite as a descriptor for Owner, Co-Owner and Editor > I like Invite as it is explicit OR
- Change Share to Share Link to Viewer and Viewer Uploader > still a little confusing because you can’t really share w/ anyone that does not already have access.

Create new permission level to allow sharing without destructive privileges
Create new permissions levels in Box to provide more flexibility:
Permissions/ Roles (ie. Editor, Viewer, etc.):
There is no ability to add someone to a folder and allow them to Invite other persons without giving them destructive permissions > Edit and Delete (Editor Role) >
Viewer Inviter (not sure I like the name, but it goes well w/ the previous request) > Upload, download, preview and Invite
This would allow the user to invite others, but not have destructive permissions. I could actually make two new roles and change Viewer Uploader:
Editor Lite > Upload, download, preview, invite, share and edit
Viewer Inviter > Upload, download, preview, invite, and share
Viewer Uploader > Upload, download, preview and share > this a change to a current role > the fact this role can Edit is strange.Create new permissions levels in Box to provide more flexibility:

Report on which users were de-provisioned from the Active Directory when SSO is enabled.
We would like to be able to automatically mark a user on Box as inactive. Also, would like to see a report on which users were de-provisioned from the Active Directory when SSO is enabled.
One example would be the below:
I'll give you an example - we have integrated our AD with Adobe, so that when a user is disabled in AD, their Adobe product licenses are also automatically removed and therefore available to use for the new users. We add users to security groups in AD to assign the licenses. When the Adobe connector pulls the user data from AD and some of them are disabled, the licenses automatically get stripped out. Very convenient.

Display pop-up notification to let users know that Box Drive is able to be started
Please display a pop-up notification to let users know that Box Drive is able to be started (or in other words, users are able to open contents).
We own a lot of content - this makes Box Drive take a long time checking the updated contents and starting up.
This is causing delays of Box Drive being launched.
If a notification pops up when Box Drive is ready to start accessing contents, users would not have to check the status of Box Drive so frequently.
Instead, they could work on other things while waiting for Box Drive to start.1 vote -
Ability to restrict fonts based on OS across all platforms
Wants a setting to restrict the usage of characters that are restricted in the OS. for example, Box webapp allows more characters that Windows OS allows. This result in inconsistency when using Box Drive, what appears in Box Drive and what actually exists in Webapp.

Ability to ban App Token Applications
Currently, we can require users to get approval from admin to authorize apps, but that leads to a number of emails generated to the admin. We want the ability to ban users from creating App Token Applications.

Links that open excel spreadsheets to a particular cell and/or worksheet
A few of the users here at Quay Australia have asked me about how to send out links to spreadsheets saved to Box that will open the workbook in question to a particular worksheet and cell, like the capability in One Drive detailed here: https://superuser.com/questions/804139/can-i-modify-excel-online-share-urls-to-open-to-a-specific-worksheet. I've tried this method with a Box link and it just opens the file where the last editor left off. If you could develop this capability, many of my end-users at Quay Australia would be very thankful.

Show date in the file area
In the file area, the most recently uploaded files are shown with a date of yesterday or today. Unfortunately, there is no current date shown on the page for reference. This seems like an easy fix.

box for outlook
Box for Outlook needs to support moving multiple emails to a box folder. Right now, I can only file an email to box one at a time, and the button is greyed out when I have more than one selected. Also ability to show some box folders in Outlook and drag and drop to those folders.
