Tag and Metadata support still missing on Mobile?
Hello, new user here evaluating Box.com for several cloud integrations within our company. I am searching the community for info on searching/filtering by tags and/or metadata via the Box mobile apps. I am confused... I am seeing replies back from Box support dating all the way back to 2017 saying that tag/metadata support on mobile is one of the most requested features. Yet neither seem to have been implemented as of Q2 2020? Am I missing something? Notification "new version" upload
Notify the folder group when a new version is uploaded.
Currently only when the first version is uploaded, a notification is sent. If version 2 is uploaded, the folder group does not get a notification.26 votes -

Governance, Retention policy for folders with no content
hen a retention policy removes files, it's possible to end up in a situation where there is a very long list of folders without any files. It would be helpful if there was a way to remove these folders quickly.

Sometimes previewing large Video files is not counted as "preview" in User Statistics Report.
It should be counted.

File Request Email Validation
Provide the ability to have the email address provided in a File Request form to be validated either generically to make sure the email is a real address or to require them to authenticate themselves. This is critical for organizations that have strict security and compliance requirements and can't accept the risk of someone getting a hold of the File Request link and uploading malicious content or inundate their folders with nonsense files.
7 votesI suggest customers look into Shield, a newer Box offering that provides malware detection. If turned on, it scans all content uploaded to Box including the ones from file requests (as well as any file when it's active - e.g., on preview, share, edit, copy, etc. events)

Need to be able to run user activity report for Box users that were deleted
Need to be able to run reports for user activity for user account that have been deleted. Once a user is deleted I can't run any historical user activity in case there is any request for that information.

Box Drive Adjust Shared Links
Content Owners should be able to adjust a shared link setting directly from Box Drive, i.e. change from "People in this Folder" to "People in my Company"

Document metadata processing and visualization for decision making in large organizations
Example: Financial organization such as a bank, needs to process a new loan. They will need to process income verification, identity verification, and other documents. The bank representative receiving this information must validate these documents, so the metadata pulled from these documents should be easily exported into a friendly format, such as excel.
This will allow bank representative to easily approve or deny the loan, and can be automated using Box Relay.

Upgrade Box Drive-G Drive 100 MB Limit Size Limitation
I have a ticket number - #2250687 that has been closed because we need a feature request. When a file is created in Google Docs via Box, most of our users at Apeel keep having issues making changes, saving, sharing or downloading files.
What happens is Google makes edits to the file, the file grows larger than 100 MB, Google then fails to send those changes to Box. ABILITY TO CLOSE THE ACTIVITY SIDEBAR ON FILES!!!!!!
GET RID OF THE ACTIVTY BOX ON FILES.
OF OUR ~10,000 FILES ONLY 6 HAVE COMMENTS, SO WHY SHOULD WE ALWAYS HAVE TO HAVE IT OPEN.
WHEN USING TWO OPEN WINDOWS SIDE BY SIDE, IT IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO USE BOX BECAUSE HALF OF THAT WINDO W IS OVERTAKEN BY THE ACTIVITY SIDEBAR.

Error message when sharing due to inclusion of URL in message
When sharing a file or folder, the optional message will trigger an error if the user includes a URL in the message text. Instead of just validating the message body in context, the validation cancels the entire sharing popup interface and all of the email addresses that the user carefully entered and the entire message body that the user carefully crafted is lost. Why not just prompt the user to not type a URL and leave the sharing popup interface intact for correction? Auto classification of files/folders based on metadata and comments
It would be helpful if Box's auto classification feature were able to trigger file classification (and thus, security controls) if metadata on a file/folder is sensitive in nature or if a file has comments/tasks/annotations that contain sensitive information.

Keep third party's login token or credentials when logging out from Box Drive
Users need to log in to a web gateway before logging in to Box Drive.
If they log out, they need to login to the gateway again.
In WebApp, they don’t need to re-login the gateway after logging out from Box.
Therefore, Box should have any way to prevent this.

It would be great if it could be set up on a per-tenant basis if possible.If we accidentally manipulate it, we'll get flustered.

Shared link - colour code the link icon to advise who it is shared with Public, invited only etc
Currently if a file or folder has shared link enabled it, it places a blue symbol between the file name and last updated date. You have 2 options to see what the shared link is enabled as either by clicking onto the link symbol and it shows the properties of the enabled link or highlighting the folder/file and looking at details on the right hand side.
It would be better if the symbol was perhaps a different colour to show it was the different status e.g blue -invited only - green - people in your company - red -public

Need to send message with collaborator invite by using java SDK or any rest point
We have to automate the process where I need a code to send an optional message along with a collaborator invite. With Box Ui we can send optional message along with collaborator invite but I didn't find any method in BOX SDK .

Allow configuration of permissions to apply and change each classification created
To apply or change a classification, select "Owners/co-owners and editors" in the classification settings, and then click Users with editorial privileges or higher can apply and change the classifications.
