  1. Ability to search by "co-owner" or "editor", I see we can "sort by owners" but that doesn't do any good for users.

We have detailers come in all the time we would like to be able to sort at the "All Folder" zone by "co-owner" or "editor" to ensure detailer gets put in all applicable folders. I see sort by "owner" but no one is that high in the group. the highest we're at is "co-owner" . the sorting feature would allow us to find, add and remove person(s) from folder(s) without having to open every folder and sort through all the users.

This suggestion is not under consideration for the current or future roadmap because there is not enough demand from customers to sort members by in a group.

  3. access Deny Authority

The permissions of the parent folder are inherited by the subordinate folder, but I want to be able to add a setting to deny access only to specific users or groups in the subordinate folder. Or I want to be able to set the permission settings so that they are not inherited by subordinates. This is a function that can be realized with existing file servers.

  4. Not able to see all the overdue tasks for all users

Currently I only can see the overdue tasks assigned to myself and the tasks I sent to others. We would like to see overall overdue tasks for all groups and other users. This overdue report is very important to our business process.

  5. File uploads are extremely slow.

File uploads are extremely slow. For example, a group of 3 x 20Mb files might take an entire day to upload on a 5mb.s connection. This has happened in the past 3-4 weeks.
I found the root cause of it. I am in New Zealand and redirected to the Tokyo server, which is very very slow. I verified that this upload path is an issue thus:
Tried to upload a 20Mb file using browser (via Tokyo) - 2 hrs later the file was at 20% upload. Cancelled the upload.
Connected a VPN onto Los Angeles. Uploaded the same file (and…

  6. Folders to which only managed users can be invited

    【Request】
Regarding the "Restrict collaboration to within {OrganizationName}" setting in the folder settings,
I would like the definition of users recognized as users in the organization to be selectable from the following two options
・Users who have same domains OR Managed Users (Same as current specifications)
    ・Only Managed Users

    【Current specifications & Issues】
Currently, for folders with this setting turned on, users can invite others who meet either of the following conditions
    - Managed users of the tenant
    - Users with a Box account with an email address in the registered domain

As it stands, this specification allows free accounts…

  7. Allow End users to email shared links to groups

Users would like to be able to send notifications to groups. When selecting to send shared link as emails, you cannot select groups.

  8. Removed Collaborator Report That Show Affected Folder Path, Folder Owner, & Link To Affected Folder

Recently, my company ran into an integration bug between Okta and Box, which result in a mass deprovisioning of users account. We were able to reprovision user account fairly quick but there as a mass folder permission lost.

If the user permission was granted via a group, all permission was successfully restored. However, if the permission was granted individually, that permission was lost. Ticket was open with Box support to request for assistance with folder permission restore but they could not help.

So the next best thing was try to run "User Activity" report on "Removed Collaborator" on the…

  9. Allow Admins to Recover Deleted Users Directly

Occasionally, Admins can delete a user (or large group of users) for one reason or another (license re-allocation, deleting users based off of perceived inactivity, etc.). Sometimes these users need to be recovered quickly to give users access to their Box account once again if this was done by mistake. The ultimate goal would be to enable Admins who have the ability to manage users to recover deleted accounts on their own (whether through somewhere in the admin console and/or via the CLI or API) so that product support doesn't need to do so through a support ticket as a…

  11. Add @mentions using enter key

It would be nice to not have to put your cursor over the persons name and then hit enter after the name has shown. Rather, the name shows, hit enter, boom, done! No extra key strokes irritating my mouse arm!

  12. Tables - Allow Merging Cells in Box Note Tables

A standard function when working with tables (in Excel and other tools) is a basic 'merge cells' feature that allows multiple cells (whether in a row or column) to be merged into one to function more as a grouping of multiple rows/columns. Box Notes don't currently support merging table cells.

REQUEST: Support merging 2 or more cells in a row/column within a Box Note.

  13. Allow Folder Actions on "the folder of the file that triggered the flow"

When trying to build dynamic workflows, you currently can work with and get a handle on either:

    • Folders can triggered the flow
    • Files that triggered the flow
    • Folders/Files created/copied from previous stages

There are workflows, however, where you have a trigger on the file(s) but you want to move that entire folder to progress the flow.

A "the folder of the file that triggered the flow" handle would be helpful in this scenario to allow you start a workflow, either through a file action or a manual start...assign tasks to that file and then be able to get a handle…

  14. Improve the de-provisioning process in Box

Improve the de-provisioning process in Box so that old content isn't stored when it's not needed, and if it is needed, the right people are taking over ownership of the content. Workflow should look something like this: -User leaves company and is removed from AD group or marked somehow as "removed" -Collaborators on their shared folders are notified that they should take ownership of the folders, if the content is still needed. For example "you have 30 days to take ownership of X folder." -When they click to take ownership, the folder/file is now owned by them and other collaborators…

Because Watermarking is built as an enterprise-wide feature, we don’t currently plan to limit access to it to only certain users as this would be antithetical to how we do enterprise features as a whole in the product.

If we decide to add the ability to limit folder settings to certain levels of users, then I could see us changing watermarking to fit that pattern.

  17. Be able to set your personal notifications to also include someone else.

Be able to set your personal notifications to also include someone else.

Many of our users work in teams, so it would be good to allow a user the ability to specify if another BOX user or group should receive the altered notifications that they receive.

  19. Folder of aliases to Box files for sharing

In order to supply a group of files to a collaborator such as an outside contractor, one must copy existing files into a new folder. We need a way to gather the ALIAS /SHORTCUT to multiple files that can be placed in a single shared folder.

  20. "Favorites" option for applying signers to a document

If 90% of the sign documents you generate need to be signed by a unique person, but then by two internal people, it would be nice if you could select from a "favorites" list.
So, each sign document has a unique underlying document, but the signers are, for the most part, always the same. Rather than entering "tom smith, mary jones, john white" for each document, you could just select "AR Group" from a favorites list.
