Consolidate User and Event Log Files
I am currently downloading Box event log files for my company and am seeing instances where the User Event log and the Admin Event log have holes in their data.
For instance, User Event Log is giving us fields such as item path (path_collection) and file/folder description, but it is not including field data such as IP address.
Conversely, Admin Event Log is giving us IP address, but not item path or file/folder description. We are trying to prevent duplication of data on our end, so we would like to be able to use one log or the other; however, with data not being consistent across both of those logs we are not able to choose one log to report.
It would be beneficial to have all of the data either consolidated into one event log, or to have data brought into each log that currently isn't available.

wrap long file names in the main UI. restore old namewrap UI feature.
I've noticed where other folks have suggested similar ideas and been told to use the BOX UI to create their own version. Not sure what the big deal is. we dont have programmers on staff but if you enlarge the font for a disabled person even short file names become too large to fit on the UI. I think even if long filenames is LOW probability, it occurs enuf to consider offering it. Practically every filename we have is too long so it drives us nuts. Video filenames are the worst because of a zillion versions. Can you imagine a unix system with a filename window like this. The naming convention allows for a gazillion characters but the window does not. Why make a window that doesn't follow the conventions of the protocols maximum abilities underneath.
End users finally in this day and age can make as long a filenames as they want but now we can't read them without hovering over every last one. hover, hover, hover, no wait what was that one named, rehover again. its quite maddening at times.
Please reconsider restoring the namewrap from the old UI as an OPTION people can use if the so choose. If they like to hover, let them hover otherwise let it wrap. Think like a NONprogrammer. Using the Box UI is no easier than telling me to rebuild my car engine and I dont even own a socket wrench. you already wrote the code once before, please restore it as an option.

Integrate Tasks with personnel systems like Active Directory, Workday
We want to be able to create rules so that tasks can be assigned to specific individuals based on their reporting relationship. This would allow for a task to be assigned to the appropriate manager when any employee submits certain kinds of requests, perhaps with a file upload. The best way to do this would be with some kind of integration to the HR system of record.

Russia
Provide customers who do business in Russia with a Zone in Russia for Multi-Zone Support.
2 votesThere is no existing cloud infrastructure we can utilize for a Zone in Russia, and there are security challenges beyond that to operations there

Add justify alignment option to Box Notes
It is possible to align content to the left, right and centre but there is no ability to justify content which is very common for many types of documents.

Subject Access Request reporting
UK users need to be able to provide Subject Access Reporting (by law). Everyone is entitled to a copy of their data held in the system.
Box needs to be able to report on that. Search (content and/or metadata) will provide the results, but we need a list of this content in a report as well as the ability to download all this content in a zip file.
See specific GDPR requirements here: https://ico.org.uk/for-organizations/guide-to-data-protection/principle-6-rights/subject-access-request/

Reduce amount of steps needed to create bookmarks in Box.
Can be simplified with a simple context menu (e.g. right-click > create bookmark) and then either copy the bookmark or choose a destination.

Document stamp / seal of approval
In addition to being able to watermark documents, users could be authorized by administrators to customize the image to allow the addition of stamps/chops for legal purposes, approvals, compliance reasons, etc.

Mask or hide email addresses
There is a need to hide or mask email addresses for instance we have service accounts by business unit that 'own' all of the content and also high-level executives that cannot be spammed by external collaborators.

Pre-populate Box signin userid (email) field
Actually for all Box applications requiring sign-in from a computer.
Allow the sign-in procedure to remember previously supplied email addresses (in a configuration file or in the Windows registry) or allow customization for users to provide a list of addresses. Then provide selection from a drop-down list at sign-in time.
This is typical of browser access to the Box web page. It would greatly ease access to Box for Box Drive users that do not stay connected. Absence of this feature has us looking for alternatives to Box Drive for our desktop file sharing needs.

"Virtual Documents" / Groupings of documents that together form one master document
Box should have the ability to get documents together in a collection. This collection should then be versionable, regardless of the versions of the documents.
Thinks a personal dossier. Some documents might update a couple of time, before I declare the whole dossier as a new version.
Tools like documentum have a concept of virtual documents. My opinion to those implementation is that they are really bad from a user perspective. Therefore we should do it better.

Improve viewer-uploader copy experience
Copy is only possible for viewer-uploader through shortcut. It should be available through button/command too, it would be consistent with other role and it would improve user productivity

Strip down and rebuild.
I've been a user for years. It used to be easy and reliable. It is now a nonintuitive stupid mess. And it doesn't even work properly. I just tried to download a bunch of files, twice, and both times the zipped folder could not be opened.

Save draft email and addresses for Send Shared Link until sent
I have a request to fix what I consider a flaw in the Box.com environment. When I share a file or folder, I sometimes decide to add restrictions after I have already put in all the email addresses and typed up a message. However, if I go to the restrictions page and then come back to the message page, ALL of my email addresses and the message I typed are GONE! In other words, I have to start all over again. Can this be changed so that you can toggle back and forth between the message page and the restrictions page without losing all your info every time? It’s very frustrating!

Update shared link expiration workflow is confusing
The workflow to update the shared link expiration date on the mobile app is confusing and not intuitive.
Here’s what I would have expected to happen:
- I get email in my inbox warning me that a file or folder that I own or collaborate on is expiring soon
- I click the link contained in the email
- I see a screen that gives me an option to extend the date or not
- I make an update or leave it as-is and confirm
- Done
Instead here’s what actually happens
- I get email in my inbox warning me that a file or folder that I own or collaborate on is expiring soon
- I click the link contained in the email
- I am taken to a screen that shows me the item that’s about to expire with some icons at the bottom
- Since none of them intuitively suggest that one would take me to a screen where I can update the expiry, I click the … for more options
- I see a list of stuff that I can do, but none of them suggest to me that it will let me extend the expiry
- I click “file information” in the list because it seems most likely of any of the random choices
- At the bottom, I now notice – after attempting this workflow at least a dozen times from my phone – a button that says “sharing”
- Now I can get to the update expiry screen after 2 more clicks, and I have to take another action after that

Top folders in Box Drive should respect top folder restrictions
We currently have it set to “Only Admin can create and delete first-level folders, file and bookmarks”.
But it is still possible to create folders in Box Drive and store files within them, but they aren’t actually uploaded to Box (as users do not have permission to create these top level folders), and they are saved locally
