Event Stream notification for Admin Console changes
We need to monitor security of our environment and want to be able to identify and flag, via the Event Stream, when any Admin Console setting is changed.
This is available via the UI in User Reports, but is not in the Event Stream.
This is especially important for enterprises who rely on SIEM tools like Splunk and QRadar to alert to unauthorized actions.

Open Shared Link Controls: Only [specified roles in the folder] can create open links
REQUEST: The ability for admins to choose which roles (Editor, Viewer Uploader, etc.) are able to create open ('people with the link') links in folder they're in.
Currently, if you are a collaborator with permissions to create/edit a shared link, you can choose any of the 3 shared link permissions levels.
ADMIN STORY: "I want to require that only Co-Owners in folders can create open shared links. Editors and below can create shared links, but they won't be able to chase the permission to 'people with the link."
CONTEXT: Many large enterprises, and even smaller ones with a security focused…

Favorite a Note as a non-collaborator
I most often see this when there is a company-wide Note that I can edit but not Favorite because I have not explicitly been collaborated in, which is a confusing experience.

Extend collaborations further than the default auto-expiration timeframe
When collaboration auto-expiration is in place on an enterprise level, folder owners can only extend the collaboration up to the default auto expiration timeframe. For example, if the enterprise has collaboration auto-expiration set at 90 days, the folder owner can currently only extend the collaboration for another 90 days. We would like for the folder owner to be able to extend the collaboration for a time period longer than the set collaboration auto-expiration.

Metadata field for a user name - ability to @mention or tie a metadata field to a specific user
Similar to comments or tasks, it would be helpful to be able to autofill and insert a user's name in a metadata field.
There are a lot of use cases here, e.g. establishing the content owner since oftentimes that is different from the folder owner and not easily discernible or searchable.
Current workaround would be to use the text metadata field, which leaves room for user error, typos, or using different variations on people's names. A dropdown list helps with that but isn't a feasible option if you're choosing from a large set of users.

Thanks for the suggestion! We don’t currently plan to increase this limit given the potential performance impact this would have on page load times. We are, however, looking into alternate solutions for pagination.

Drag & Drop Uploads to subfolders, not just current folder
In legacy UI, you could drag & drop to either the current folder OR one of the sub-folders of the current folder by hovering over it.
In Amsterdam, drag and drop is only supported for the CURRENT folder, not the subfolders.
This request is to bring back drag and drop to subfolders in the Amsterdam UI.

Netsuite v2 - admin option to turn off choice of existing vs new folder in widget
We would prefer that folders are always created via the integration ('default') rather than always giving the option to select an existing folder as well. This could be a configuration admins can turn on/off.
6 votesNot currently planned as an out of the box feature. Customers can explore customizing the integration via SuiteScript to meet this use case.

Keep Netsuite record-folder associations when converting records
Within Netsuite, users are able to take an existing Netsuite record (for example, a Tender record) and convert it into a different type of record (for example, a Project record). If integration users have already associated a Box folder to the Tender record, converting the record essentially removes the Box folder association. When they view the newly-converted Project record in Netsuite, they will be prompted to create a new folder on Box. Ideally, the converted record should be linked to the folder that was created when the record was a Tender record (or allow admins to customize this behavior).

Retain Mark for Offline setting when logging out and re-signing into Box
Currently if a user marks content for offline access in any of the mobile devices once the user logs out the content is removed from offline. The next time they sign in to the Box app, content needs to be marked for offline again. The request is to remember content has been marked for offline access on the mobile device so the next time they log in it makes the experience more seamless
6 votesAt this point in time we are not planning to add this functionality.

No plans at this time to add this to our existing upload policies, but we will explore methods to enable this through other means.

Box Drive should change the way it handles files being moved into folder with unsupported file names.
Currently, if a folder has an unsupported name and content is moved into it on Box, that content immediately becomes a problem item on Box Drive and the move is not reflected. This leads to the file count in the folder being off when looking at the properties from windows explorer.

Disclose Box service host names via API
Open up Box host names via API so that a customer's proxy server can automatically fetch our end points and digest it in to their solution.
There is a partial list available on our community page but it is not complete and difficult to fetch programatically.6 votesThank you once again for the feedback. We have evaluated the feedback but don’t think will have anything meaningful to share in the next couple of quarters.
Meanwhile, we will continue to keep our ear to the ground for additional feedback, and let you know if anything changes on our side.
