Would like to have a permissions level where only the admins are able to permanently delete files from the trash. We dont need Governance, only the option to restrict users from permanently removing/deleting any company files/folders.

Shared link prompts
We would like for box pop-up that indicates this content will be publicly available to anyone with shared link to also have a message where managed users are notified why that is being prompted and that the root folder has an open shared URL link and that is why they are seeing that when they do not have permissions to the parent folder.

Access direct URL to file from Folder Tree Report
We really would like to be able to access the url for the direct path to a file associated with a NetSuite record. The Folder Tree Report gets us to the page the file is on but not the actual file.

Customer Privacy
I noticed a bug in your system. You can set permissions so that users cannot see other users. However, I discovered a loophole that would compromise this and allow users to access other user's personal information like email addresses. When typing an email on the comments section, it will display other user's email addresses even when those permission are set off. I was told by a Box customer service rep that there is no way to set user permissions and avoid that customer privacy problem.

Would have appreciated more notice in regards to changes made depreciating the old API when File Request was released.
We missed the notice where everything using the old app would break. We had used this app to embed many upload widgets in web pages, then they all broke simultaneously. We were left scrambling to fix every page that was broken. It’s just a lengthy process on our end to replace the functionally that was broken in our all live pages.”

Box Drive Install - Convert Synced Files/Folder to Marked for Offline
After installing Box Drive, the items that were previously synchronized with Box Sync should marked for offline. It is a disincentive for my team to have to resync all these folders. Additionally, the synced link on the web interface does not seem to serve a purpose since it does not reflect the items now marked for offline.

More options in “Last viewed” or Recents Page
Within “Last viewed” area, there is no file operation available like on a file in a folder. It just can be shared… (no download, tag, mailing, …).

My company Box users are having a hard time organizing files/folders shared with them. It means, if there are 100 files/folders shared with an user, all the shared files/folders show in the user's Box account. Which interferes with the user's personal files/folders which the user would like to access more frequently without having to browse through a list of shared files/folders. That being said, it would be nice to be able to move the shared content into a shared folder or being able to organize the folders based on our own convinience.

Use file size limits of Box Enterprise account when free users edit/upload to enterprise folders
Ability for free/lite users who are external collaborators in a folder to edit/upload content into a managed folder, even if the file size is above the free/lite limit. For example: Company A has an enterprise Box license and Company B does not, but uses free/lite accounts to collaborate in folders with Company A. When Company B needs to collaborate/edit large files in Company A’s folder, they can only do so if the size of the file is below the free/lite account limit. Display email address of sender for files uploaded through email to folder
When using email to folder in Box, the "user" shows whatever name another company set up for that external email address. An example is service@ringcentral.com - the uploader shows as "Fax in Rehabco 2" which means nothing to us - it is apparently something set up by another Box company. It should display the actual email address instead.

Add support for bulkified retrieval of box folder ids
toolkit.getFolderIdByRecordId needs to be bulkified. Otherwise the method is very vulnerable to Salesforce governor limits.

When using the Send Shared Link feature, non-URLs in the Message are getting caught as URLs
It is unclear which part of the message got caught in the filtering.
For example we A.COMPANY get's caught as a URL since .com is recognized as a top level domain. This is very confusing to the user and would be better if there was a message that shows which string was marked as invalid.3 votes -
Add the ability to mark a folder for offline use (for viewers) when files have watermarks
In a folder where I'm a viewer, I marked the folder for offline use and a check mark is displayed on the folder, but when I look at the files all have an exclamation point, indicating an error and cannot be viewed offline

Open Box Notes API for logging
The idea here is to use a box note as a log which could be updated both by humans and an automated api.
My use case for the api would basically be "append a line" to the box note.

Report to indicate what was changed when a user is edited
We use OKTA SSO for user provisioning and de-provisioning. However, we don't have a way to report on when a user's status changes from active to inactive, other than seeing the user was edited.
As it is now, when you run a report on "User Edits" it just tells you a user was edited, but does not indicate if it was an email address change, device pinning change, made inactive, etc. Looking for some more visibility on when users are edited.

Auto deleting files from my desktop once they are moved into box
Hi- question on moving files. Say I create a document on my desktop and then drag and drop it into box. The original document on my desktop is not deleted. I would like this to happen automatically so I am not editing the most recent file. Is this an account preference with box or with with my computer?
