Approve own task
Users have the ability to assign themselves an approval task and approve. This has been flagged up by our audit team as a control issue. Is there any way this can be prevented?

Additional Sorting Options for Managed Users in Users & Groups
I would like to request the addition of more sorting options for Managed Users in the Users & Groups console.
Currently, sorting is limited to Name, Email, and Storage Used.
It would be extremely helpful to include the following:
Sort by Last Activity
Enables identification of users who have never accessed Box or who are inactive.
Helps admins determine which accounts can potentially be cleaned up or require follow‑up.Sort by Status
Allows quick visibility into which users are disabled in Box.
Supports faster lifecycle management and removal of stale or unused accounts.

Expandable metadata description fields
When adding descriptions for metadata fields (for the purposes of prompting the AI for MDE), the input field is too small, and my customer cannot see the prompts to edit in the UI. Please allow those fields to be expandable (up to the max character limit) to improve the UX for my customer.

Hub-level Terms of Service gate (per client portal) with auditable acceptance
Customers using Hubs as client/extranet portals need client-specific Terms of Service at the Hub level (not enterprise-wide). Many firms run multiple client portals, each with different legal terms, and they must be able to prove who accepted, when, and under what terms before granting access.
Requested capability:
Add a Hub/Portal-specific ToS “splash page” that requires users to Accept / Decline before viewing Hub content, with mandatory authentication and an audit trail.1 vote -

AI Agent model fallback
There are times when a specific AI provider has outages or inconsistencies in service, leading to degraded Box AI Agent performance. It would be good to be able to specify a fallback model in the event of elevated errors to ensure the agent continues to function.

Improve tenant-wide search function in Content Manager
It is helpful to be able to perform a tenant-wide search where only the content name, or part of it, is known. In the old Content Manager UI, searching by content name without any additional filters yielded much better results than the new Content Manager UI. In the previous UI, a folder or file with the most keywords matching would surface to the top of the results list. In the new UI, even if the content does exist somewhere, without using additional filters to narrow the search, often times irrelevant content is surfaced. Need to be able to circle options
We have many documents that require a selection to be made, rating service, etc. the text field, check box and radio options are not the best solution for our needs. I chatted with Emma at BOX support and she mentioned adding it here. Is there a way that we can have an additional feature added where, if someone was going to rate on a scale of 0-5, they could circle the option w/o having to download and manually act on the request?

Add collaborators as viewers/uploaders
I have created a workflow to apply to files that need signatures and approvals. If all I needed was approvals, automatically adding the assignees as viewers is fine. I need signatures as well so it would be nice to choose to add the assignees automatically as viewers/uploaders so they can also sign the document.

Unmanaged User feature should be more prominent (UX tweak)
It would be helpful if the Unmanaged Users management feature was more prominent. when trying to add a new managed user, if a matching unmanaged user already exists, an error is displayed and no other information given. I had to fumble to figure out why, partly because the feature isn't obvious. Suggestion: change the External Users tab name to External & Unmanaged Users, and add an Unmanaged Users button next to External users. Or, simply display them all but with the unmanaged users highlighted somehow. It is non-intuitive partly because external is interpreted as 'non-company domain'. So there wasn't the…

Assign Relay attribute to service account or Box
As Admin, I created a Relay for a specific team with less exposure and familiarity with Box. When folders are created in this Relay, and files are renamed and moved into those folders, I am listed as the user who "last updated" these folders/files. But questions arise as these are sensitive documents and the real owners are surprised to see my name associated to them.
It would be great if I could attribute Relay actions to Box, or to a service account, so that it's clear that I personally haven't altered the documents, for audit purposes.

Online Collaboration Breaks Functionality
If you accidentally open any file in online Microsoft office, you can no longer delete the file or open it locally because it will be forever stuck in "online collaboration mode". This is MADDENING behavior because the only apparent way to undo this is to copy the original file to another folder and delete the original folder with the original document that is now locked in document purgatory. Box should NEVER lose ownership of the file, even if its opened in online MS office.

Retention policies should lift automatically even if disposition action is set to "none"
Retention policies should be lifted automatically at the end of the retention period. Currently, if the disposition action is set to "none" the folder will not be released from the policy even though the folder will be able to be deleted. This is very confusing and requires manual work on the admin's part to determine if the retention period is up on a folder and if it is able to be deleted.
Alternately, build retention as a trigger into Relay/Workflows as mentioned in a different idea so that the Relay can automatically take the folder out of retention when…

Make it more clear to a user when they invite a company domain that does not have a Box account
Customers have mirrored their email groups (example would be a company-all-hands@company.com email list) to Box Groups. Their users typically type in the email address itself in order to attempt to collab the group onto content, but since the email address is not associated with a user, and we can't tie an email address to a Box Group, it sends a pending invite to that email address to create an account (which won't get created and doesn't work).

Ability to Toggle AI Autofill on Folders via API
AI Autofill can only be enabled on folders through the Box UI. Having an API endpoint to enable AI Autofill at the folder level so it can be automated during folder provisioning would save a lot of time.
In our use case, a Salesforce Flow creates a Box folder structure, applies metadata templates, and configures cascade policies. Being able to toggle AI Autofill via API would allow the entire process to run end-to-end without manual steps and avoid maintaining custom AI Extract + metadata upload automation as a workaround.

About the Behavior of the iOS Version of Box for Microsoft Teams
When attaching a file from Box to a chat in the iOS version of Microsoft Teams using “Upload file” and sending the message, I would like the sent message to display the attached file properly.
Current behavior:
When performing the above operation, the sent message does not show the attached file. The sender receives an email notification indicating that the chat recipient has accepted collaboration on the file, but the recipient receives no notification. The file simply appears under “All files” for the recipient.

Metadata attribute update
As the increased use of metadata becomes popular, it would be great to have updates attributes in the metadata templates automatically update in the file requests/ forms or metadata options where they are being used.
Currently, in files requests and forms the metadata templates needs to be manually updated in the designated forms, which can be hard to track.
Request: metadata updates to attributes to be dynamically updated in their embedded/ functionality locations
