Set default file view and sort options by folder (and all sub folders for that folder)
Ideally, let an owner or editor of a folder set the default view (list or grid) and sort order of the files.
The system default appears to be by date the file was updated which is rarely (if ever) what our users want.
Re: view options: For photos especially, the list view is rarely the preferred view.
Additionally, with the grid view, allow the size of the image also be set as a default.
This may not be an admin console enhancement. I think it needs to be a under More when you’re looking a a folder.

UI for Legal Holds
A piece of UI feedback on legal holds: the buttons “release” and “report” are quite close to each other, but do drastically different things. While there is a secondary confirmation screen, it still might be useful to create more physical separation between the two to prevent mistakes.

Provide read-only scope for user information
I'd like to provide our central identity management team a way to tell whether or not a given Box user has a > 0 byte usage before they delete the user's account (for example, as someone leaves our organization). I'd like to give them read-only API access to https://api.box.com/2.0/users, without giving them any additional access. Support tells me that this isn't currently possible. It'd be nice if it was--this could be useful for a number of other uses, too, such as reporting.
2 votesThanks for the suggestion! Providing a read-only scope for Users via API is not currently on the roadmap, but we’ll update this request if that changes.

Make error message more apparent when slash or back slash is used in Box Notes' title
When slash or back slash is used in the title of Box Notes, it suddenly changes back to its original title as those characters cannot be used.
An exclamation mark icon quietly appears in the right side of the title, but unless I hover over my mouse pointer, it is not apparent why it changed back my title. Please show this error message more apparent (maybe always show it for the first 10 seconds) and/or color exclamation mark icon in red, so that the users can notice what went wrong.2 votes -
Allow/Disallow apps on a per role or user group basis.
Allow/Disallow apps on a per role or user/group basis. This could be for mobile apps, Box Drive, etc. Really make the control more granular than just all on/off for the Enterprise.

Modifying "Viewer Uploader" Permissions to Exclude Sharing Abilities
I would like to modify "viewer uploader" permissions to exclude sharing abilities. Particularly, with shared URL links.
What Christine mentioned:
"Question: I would like to modify "viewer uploader" permissions to exclude sharing abilities. How can I do that? If I can't (in general), how can I apply it to specific viewer uploader users?"

Recommending update for "Understanding Collaborator Permission Levels"
I really appreciate the "Understanding Collaborator Permission Levels" article:
We send users to this page all the time to help them understand Box permissions.
However, one thing that has caused some confusion is that there are security settings at the Enterprise level and at the user and folder level that can impact an Editor's ability to "Invite Collaborators".
I think it would be nice if there was a footnote on that grid that alerted people to the fact that there are security settings that prevent Editors from being able to issue collaboration invitations.
Thank you

Multi-user and automatic uploads
Make box access suitable for multi user computers and have mechanism for automatically uploading data.
Use case: Lab equipment used by multiple users producing large amounts of data, automatically uploading this to box so as to limit required user interaction and keep local storage in check. Modern equipment can produce large amounts of data and being able to upload this automatically would help with data management. Requiring user intervention to manage their data is less practical with a very large user base so automating this process would again help with this process.

Enhance exporting large reports
Unfortunately, we have so many collaborations, that the report stalls out for us because it exceeds the number of allowable rows in Excel. I don’t have the option to narrow by date or location.
Trying to performing permissions audit on the parent folder to ensure all permissions have been correctly applied, but I am unable to get to that information on my own.

Granular Permissions for allowing Box Drive and MFO
Granular Permissions for allowing users to access Box Drive and allow them to mark content for offline use.
Similar to the way sync functioned, it would be good to have per-user permissions for Box Drive and MFO.

4k streaming video support (UHD)
Box currently has the ability to stream video content at 480p and 1080p. With 4k video now more common place as a default recording option, it would be beneficial for Box to also display information in that view. Currently working with a customer who uses a public streaming option for VR video, but they would much rather store that information in Box for compliance reasons.

View only share link to have a print option
When you give someone a share link to view only, it would be really useful if there was a print option as is available for normal previews.

Box drive - DIsk full because of "offline files"
The hard drive of my computer is full (or a small free space available) because Box Drive is using a large part of the free space to load files that I don't want to see, they should stay in the cloud. I want to see on my computer only the files that are configured for "Off Line" access. Today there are more than 50 Gbytes on my computer that are useless.
With box sync, I didn't get this issue, it's a new problem specific to box drive.
It's a critical issue, my computer is running slowly because there is only…4 votes -

Auto Expiration Collaborations - allowing for Editors to extend
Similar to how an editor can extend a shared link's expiration, it would be great if that functionality worked with extending the expiration for collaborations.

Set Box Drive as a Default Save Location in Windows
With box Sync we could set Box locations as default save locations. Apparently that isn't currently available with Box Drive... this would be a great feature if possible!!
