Revert to former UX for selecting files/folders (no more check boxes)
In order to select multiple files or folders in the Box Web App you now have to use the checkboxes which are only visible when you hover over the file/folder all the way to the right.
Previously, you could select multiple files and folders by clicking on the file or folder icon on the far left, and didn’t have to bother with checkboxes. The suggestion is to revert to the former UX for selecting files/folders

Restriction of the link icon for specific folders
There have been cases of employees accidentally clicking the link icon for "Create and copy a shared link" while working on the web site.
In order to prevent such cases, is it possible to implement a function to enable or disable the link icon for specific folders on Box?
I would like to have a function that can be set for each folder.1 vote -
Move or copy to multiple folders
I would like to be able to Move or Copy a group of files to multiple folders in one click. It seemed when you added the radio buttons, that might be possible to select multiple destinations. Alas no.

Shared Link Details: Add 'Item is in trash Y/N' Column
Shared links to items don't work if the item is in the trash, but the link still shows up in the shared links report, which can result in confusion

Update Shared Link Reports to Stop Security Flaw
Whilst I see this issue was raised a few years ago, I wanted to separately address this.
Currently, from discussions resulting from a support case ticket, when I send a shared link email, there doesn't appear to be a shared link report that includes critical details such as the date the shared link was sent together with at least the email address of the recipient.
The shared link report under User Activities only appears to show actions by the owner of the link and no details of the recipient (i.e. download/access details).
As it appears there is no way that…

Customize shared link theme and logo
As the File request link can be customized (text, colors, logo...), it would be great to customize a shared link too.
We have many companies inside our enterprise, so each company would be able to set its logo for their shared links (and not the default one of the enterprise).1 vote -
Synchronize Single Files in folders
We want the ability to synchronize individual files in a folder to the desktop rather than entire folders, allowing us to accelerate what is available in the WebUI faster.

Matching display with Box Notes shared link settings
If the Admin Console [Shared Link Permissions] is set to type "File: Can view and download" and type "Box Notes: Can view and edit",
Depending on where you create a Box Notes shared link, the settings and permissions displayed do not match. This is the current specification.Created a shared link from a file list: The permission "View only" is displayed because the type is "File", but it can be edited.
Creating a shared link from the Box Notes share button: The "Can edit" permission is displayed to refer to the type "Box Notes".We feel that this specification causes…

Lock/unlock sub-folders at will
Product enhancement request: Create one main link to access a folder and its sub-folders, yet block some sub-folders from being downloaded. Benefit to user is that I can load all files at once, yet allow access only when I choose to. I can provide the link to users once. This saves me time and reduces confusion. An example of how this is being used is for a product launch where some files have been approved for distribution and the others have not yet, but will be “released” later in the week.
Example:
· Create Folder 1

Option to enforce Box account login on public shared link
Provide an option to require a user to login to a Box account in order to access a public shared link. This becomes useful when you want to record a specific access audit trail but do not have a specific person in mind and therefore cannot invite them as a collaborator

Custom Shared Link Control by User Type
Admin ability to set global shared link settings by user type - such as no ability for a managed user to set a shared link to "anyone with the link" -- but admins and/or co-admins could set a shared link to be public (in the case of surfacing documentation externally). This could look like, under "Default access for shared links" setting in Admin Console, a new dropdown to allow for an override for co-admins or above, OR the ability to add specific users to an allowlist.

My Collection folders to be kept open when opening another My Collection Folder
Hi Team,
A client has requested to be able to keep the My Collection folders open when they open another My Collection folder.
Currently, when you select one of the folders in the left side menu, you can only open up one folder. When you select a new folder, it closes the previous one.
It would be great if it is possible to keep the previous folders open unless the user wants to close it by clicking again.Thank you in advance for your consideration.
7 votesThanks for the feedback. We have decided to allow only one expanded collections in the left side menu so we can maximize the performance of loading the left side menu.

Outlook: Option for Attaching Actual File (Not the Shared Link)
Allow user to attach actual file (not the shared link) when using the 'Attach from Box' button within Outlook (via Box for Office).
Currently when a user uses the 'Attach from Box' button in Outlook, they're only able to add the file's shared link to the email. There are various scenarios where users (still) need to attach the actual file instead.
3 votesThis does not align with our product philosophy. Users can attach a shared link with download permissions.
I would be interested to hear the use case for attaching files directly to the email.

Personal folders created by a service account appear yellow instead of blue
When content creation is restricted and personal folders are created on a users behalf, it would make more sense for the end user to see those folders as yellow instead of blue to indicate that they aren't shared
2 votesThis is not on our roadmap. We will prioritize other requests which have a higher impact.

Folder differentiation on Web App
While Box does show a different folder if a folder is shared (blue with people silhouette) you are unable to tell which is shared BY you and which is shared TO you. I recommend changing the folder color to the default color, but adding the people silhouette when YOU share folders, then the blue one with the silhouette can be used for folders shared TO you.
