Search function in file explorer window does not function in BOX DRIVE--FIX THIS PLEASE?
It's soooo bad that my boss will not use drive, reverted to and will only use sync do to the lack of search capability in windows explorer. He threatens frequently to move us to a different platform because of it. It is absolutely unacceptable to not have the file explorer search function with BOX DRIVE work identically to the way it workson BOX Sync2 votes -

Select folders from hard drive to sync with box
Rather than syncing to a separate Box folder on my desktop, I would an application that would make it able to flag folders and files that already exist on my hard drive. I would very much prefer to be able to open my Windows Explorer and right-click on a folder and make a selection that would automatically sync that folder from where it is in my hard drive to Box.

Sharing File paths with others in my organization on box drive
Before my company switched to box we had a mac server. When directing people to files on this server we used a utility called PathSnagger where it copied the file path which you could then email to someone and it would become a clickable hyperlink. When you click it, it took you directly to that location on the server. It was great to be able to do this.
With box, we cannot do that any longer with this utility because it copies the fully qualified path to your local computer. file:///Users/[username]/Library/CloudStorage/Box/[folder name]/[file or folder name] and since the recipient is…

Box Drive app more easily accessible
It would be convenient to have an install Box link located in the Help menu or my Account icon similar to Dropbox. Even still, when I navigate to the Box App Center I have to go to Box Drive, scroll down to the respective OS and install. It sounds tedious but I needed to install Box and Dropbox on a bunch of computers and was reminded how the Box user experience still doesn't hold up to Dropbox. View Owner/Creator of Files in Box Drive
We would like the ability to display accurate information about the Owner/creator of files within Box Drive for Windows. The Owner column in Windows was used prior to our migration to Box to show who originally created the file for a folder all in a single glance. Although Box.com shows the upload history of individual files, it's a manual process of viewing each file-- a pain point-- compared to the table view of File Explorer with the Owner column displaying. Prevent Box Notes being created from Box Drive when disabled at enterprise level
When Box Notes application is disabled at enterprise level we should not be able to create new Box Notes from within Box Drive application.

Moving from Box Drive now deletes instead of copies
When moving a file from Box Drive to another volume like your computer, it now removes the file from BOX altogether. Prior to the latest update to the platform, it used to make a copy by default.
We use BOX as a file server and this opens up the potential for accidental deletion. Making the source folders read-only doesn't work either because we have to be able to edit contents on BOX.
Can you provide the option in a setting or elsewhere to turn on forced copy by default when dragging files from BOX to another Volume?

Optional functionality when creating “shared links” directly from “box drive”
When creating a “shared link” directly from a “box drive”, there is no ability to set an expiration date or password. It would be desirable to be able to set them for the purpose of preventing the creation of open links from reducing the level of security.

Taskbar icon overlay for Box Drive to indicate if there are any "Problem Items"
Currently for Box Drive (for Windows) you have to go into the program then Box Drive Settings to view if there are any problem files. Most users will never do this.
Ideally there should be a red exclamation overlay on the taskbar icon if there are any problem files and they should be shown immediately when you click to open Box Drive.

Set up the Box Drive installer so the user gets to Single Sign On (SSO) by default
There are quite a few steps when logging in to Box when installing Box Drive. It'd be helpful for us if the users could get to the SSO window directly instead of first having to enter their email address and then click the (not so obvious) ”Sign In with SSO” link.
It'd also be great if the ”NORDUnet Box Service” could filter away the list of services based on the domain name in the email address the user just typed, especially since typing the name of the institutin and and then ”enter” (which I know one isn't supposed since the…

Restrict Box Drive files from being viewable/accessible from Windows command prompt
Box Drive files can actually be viewed and manipulated (to some extent) from Windows command prompt. We are concerned about the potential for malicious command line scripts that could be .run to steal information from our Box tenant

Improve navigation of Box Drive for Windows
This is a request to improve the navigation of Box Drive. In Windows Explorer, after a user opens a folder, he can go back to the next higher level folder using "backspace" on the keyboard or "Left Arrow ←", but at this time, the last selected folder is selected and displayed. Allow DES files to be synced via Box Drive
We would like for DES files to be synced to Box cloud via Box Drive. They are currently being ignored in the same way PST files are ignored. Ideally, having the ability to enable/allow exclusions would be ideal.

Use Box (cloud, not drive) as browser's download location
I need a solution for preventing files downloaded from the web from being saved directly to my device. This puts sensitive client information on the device and requires me to delete the file after uploading it to Box, and hackers can still find information on a hard drive that has been "deleted". It would be much more secure if I could select Box as the browser's location where all downloads are stored. It seems this should be possible with Box's browser extension.

Gap in deleting a file being locked between WebApp and Box Drive
In WebApp, collaborators don't have trash menu against the locked file, meaning collaboration cannot delete it during being locked. However, they are able to remove the locked file from their drive and leave an error in problem items. This deletion can only be done within Box Drive and the file isn't actually deleted. After removing the file lock, Box Drive will make it effective on Box. This can lead the users to create a same item before removing the file lock, and edit.

Cross-platform Box Drive with multiple accounts needed
I realize this has been asked for in the past, but dismissed without much explanation of why it is "not planned." I'm the admin of a Box enterprise account. Co-admins in our enterprise org require user-level file access to perform their job duties. While our corporate policy does permit employees to use their Box accounts for personal data, there are numerous issues with this:
1) I travel frequently, and need offline file access, from my computer and devices; can't do that if I have to log out and back in.

allow Box Drive to be installed on only one profile of a computer, not all by default
I have Box Drive installed on my profile of my laptop, which causes issues when my partner logs into his profile - Box Drive tries to open and then hangs, causing delay for him to log on every time. I stopped it from opening on start-up but this change was applied to both profiles, meaning it is now slower for me to get into Drive on my profile.

Drag and Drop behavior to and from Box Drive
The current behavior of dragging and dropping content between Box Drive and the local desktop is a "move" action on Windows, and a "copy" action on Mac. A "copy" action may be more intuitive, and will be similar to the behavior when dragging to and from the web app.
Performing a "copy" action would also be better for retaining the original file in case of any issues.
