1. If I use Box Drive，my computer's local Recycle is not available ?

   Whenever a file is deleted from my computer's local Box Drive, it doesn't go in the trash itself. I am not able to see the file in my computer's local trash, it has synched to Box Driver in the first place.

2. Drive and Sync

   It should be impossible to have both Box Drive & Box Sync installed and working on the same machine. An install of one should automatically be impossible until the other is removed from the machine.

3. Ability to rename the parent directory in Box Drive

   I would like to know if it is possible to rename the parent directory in Box Drive. Right now ti seems that nothing I do, even in the registry, will stop the folder being named “Box”.

   Please let me know if there is any way I can rename this folder to anything other than “Box”.

5. ACCESS MULTIPLE WORKSPACES ON BOX DESKTOP DRIVE

   Hi,

   I run a small agency and more clients are asking me to work directly in their Box server. The problem is that I can't log into several different Box workspaces on the Desktop App (like you can in Slack for example). Please help! I may have to go back to Dropbox for this reason.

6. allow Box Drive to be installed on only one profile of a computer, not all by default

   I have Box Drive installed on my profile of my laptop, which causes issues when my partner logs into his profile - Box Drive tries to open and then hangs, causing delay for him to log on every time. I stopped it from opening on start-up but this change was applied to both profiles, meaning it is now slower for me to get into Drive on my profile.
   I have reported this to Box Support and was told this was the default for Box Drive, that it runs on start up for all profiles and the only way to disable this is to go into the registry.
   Please look into this and get a fix. Not all family members may want or need a Box account, so it is crazy to assume that it is needed on all profiles.

7. BOX Drive - Block local file/folder creation if user does not have write access

   We do not allow creation of root folder in BOX. Also certain folders are read only for select staff. When using BOX Drive if they try to add content to an area they only have read access, the content is listed and appears to the employee, that they uploaded it to BOX. There is a tiny red dot but to many this is not sufficient to let them know the data is not being protected. Please configure BOX drive to not allow a local creation of content within the local BOX path if they do not have editor rights at that level.

8. Display pop-up notification to let users know that Box Drive is able to be started

   Please display a pop-up notification to let users know that Box Drive is able to be started (or in other words, users are able to open contents).

   We own a lot of content - this makes Box Drive take a long time checking the updated contents and starting up.
   This is causing delays of Box Drive being launched.
   If a notification pops up when Box Drive is ready to start accessing contents, users would not have to check the status of Box Drive so frequently.
   Instead, they could work on other things while waiting for Box Drive to start.

9. Box Drive activity should show up in the recents section of the webapp

   Would be great if the recents section showed in the web app showed all content recently used and not just content in accessed in the web app. When I am using Box Drive the webapp recents section does not pick up that content.

10. Seamless zoom in box web app for pictures

    In light of Box's stance for Windows Universal apps. I'm requesting improved zooming support inside the preview/webapp experience.

    Currently to zoom you must manually click the +/- button which is a loss of function compared to a native desktop app where you might be able to zoom with the mouse wheel or ctrl+mouse wheel.

    Requesting that Box add a similar functionality to the preview / webapp.

    Below is Box' current official workaround for the issue:

    Windows Store Applications (Photos, Office, etc.): Users are unable to open files from the Box Drive folder when navigating to it from within these applications. Users may also experience errors or silent failures when saving from these applications into Box Drive.
    We recommend you install the .exe or .msi version of these applications (for example, Photos or Office) instead of the Windows Store app. Otherwise, on the windows store app you'll need to save the item outside of the Box folder and then drag the item back into Box.

11. Need for Retaining and Utilizing EXIF Data when Uploading Photos to box.com and Box Drive

    I have been managing my photos on my PC and I'm considering migrating them to Box for better organization and accessibility. However, I've encountered a significant obstacle - the important EXIF data associated with my photos, such as the capture date and time, is lost once the photos are saved in a Box folder. This issue persists whether I upload the photos directly from the browser or through other methods.

    I'm using Box Drive on Windows, and I've noticed that the property values also disappear in Explorer. Interestingly, when I moved the same file out of Box Drive, the property values were restored, suggesting that they are merely hidden. I'd like to request that, at the very least on Windows, property values such as EXIF are made accessible according to Windows specifications.

    The EXIF data is crucial to my workflow as I rely on it for tasks like sorting and grouping photos based on the capture date. I believe many other users could also benefit from having this information available, as it could significantly enhance the organization and searchability of photos within Box. Besides, utilizing additional EXIF information can also open up new possibilities for managing and organizing photos.

    I have attempted to create a metadata template using the EXIF property names as a workaround, but it hasn't proven to be an effective solution.

    Hence, I would like to request the Box team to consider the feature to retain and utilize EXIF data when photos are uploaded. This feature would greatly enhance the user experience and functionality of Box for those of us who manage large photo libraries.

    Today, even though I have Box, employees can still save into Google Drive, which creates security, governance, privacy, and other risks.

14. Two User accounts on same Windows 10 computer

    There should be a possibility that two users on the same windows 10 computer, each user separately logging into his/her own windows account, could each log into his/her own box account and use box drive. BoxDrive is much more convenient that to go via the browser. This seems not possible now.
    Additionally it is annoying that the the box drive shows up for login when the second user enters the windows account, and if startup of box is switched off for that user, then it is also switched off for the main user (the admin user who has made the installation).

15. Add options to control cache size on Box Drive for mac/windows

    In particular, there should be a setting to specify the maximum cache size, or an option to have it be up to a certain percentage of free disk space (eg 30% by default, similar to the iPhone app). There should also be a screen that shows how much disk space the cache is currently using and a button to clear the cache with one click.

16. Share folder as read-only/add folder to Box Drive from shared link

    Case:
    I receive the agenda and related documents for meetings within the department I work at as Shared Links to a folder in Box. I want to access these documents during the meeting directly through Box Drive on my computer. The desired access includes any documents added after I first opened the link. All related accounts are part of the same organisation/"Company" (in this case a university).

    Current situation:
    When I am signed into my Box account and open the link I can view the documents and have two options: "Save link" and "Download". The only way to get it to my Box Drive is to use "Download" and then re-upload the contents to my account. If any documents are added later I need to reopen the link and download these as well. "Save link" does not add anything to my Box Drive folder on the computer.

    What I want added:
    I would like a third button next to "Save Link" and "Download": "Add to account". Selecting this option should allow me to pick a location in my account and save the shared folder with the same permissions as when I open the link in the web interface, e.g. read-only access, but with instant updates when new documents are added.

17. Keep third party's login token or credentials when logging out from Box Drive

    Users need to log in to a web gateway before logging in to Box Drive.

    If they log out, they need to login to the gateway again.

    In WebApp, they don’t need to re-login the gateway after logging out from Box.

    Therefore, Box should have any way to prevent this.

19. Please make it possible to choose both .msi and .exe installers for Box Drive.

    The reason is that administrator privileges are required during uninstallation, and end users cannot reinstall Box Drive when issues occur.

20. Not delete data flagged as "make available offline" when Box Drive is closed/logged out

    Currently if data is generated and saved locally on a machine into the Box Drive folder, exiting or logging out of the Box Drive application will delete the local data on the machine, even if the folder it is saved into is marked to "make available offline".

    We are a small physics research laboratory currently trying to migrate our data collection and storage from Dropbox to Box. We were disheartened to discover that if data is generated on a local machine, by collecting and saving it directly into the Box Drive folder, say, and Box Drive is logged out (by an errant user perhaps) the local copy of the data is not preserved. This seems to present a great deal of risk as if a set of files, just collected, were not yet synced and an inadvertent closure/logout of box drive occurred the data would be lost. Or, more likely a large repository of data which must both be kept on a local machine and backed up to the cloud service would have to be inconveniently re-downloaded after any logout. A setting to prevent this behavior would be greatly appreciated.
