   Create a notification that pops up inside the document when two users have the same document open and when one user makes changes. This feature is in Drop Box and helps cut down on multiple versions of the same document being saved.

2. Box CLI Email Notifications and Folder Settings

   We would like to enable upload notifications for select folders, on particular users or groups.

   Currently users need to go into each folder's settings to then check the box for upload notifications, or they can select upload notifications in their user settings.

   The first option is very time consuming, we have about 140 folders that we would like to target and it is hard to force employee's to complete this.
   The 2nd option removes the importance of notifications if users are being notified for everything.

   It would be great to have a bulk option to enable notifications or manage other folder settings for users.
   Would it be possible to use the Box CLI to target Folder IDs, User/Group IDs, then have the various folder options to flag or unflag. This would be a huge time saver.

3. Adds the ability to hide the notifications that appear when you open an auto-locked file on a box drive for all tenant users.

   Tenants that automatically lock files in Box Drive will be notified that when another user opens a file that is already open from Box Drive, the file will be locked and opened in read-only mode.
   Add the ability to hide this notification for the entire tenant.

4. Make inactive users their own category vs. remaining as licensed users

   Inactive users shouldn't be regarded as licensed users; we need to maintain user history so we never delete users.

6. Use customer's own email gateway to send email notifications

   Many customers in regulated industries do NOT like the fact that email notifications from Box come from the Box Service with a noreply@box.com email address. The emails that Box sends on the user behalf do not go through a customer's email security or e-discovery system thus it creates problems in regulated environment that need to capture ALL communications between internal users and external customers. Box needs to have a configuration where a customer can configure their own SMTP gateway that Box can use to send email notifications with the proper TO and FROM data so they can better document and track all communications that come from the Box service.

   Request for Improvement of the “People with the Link” Feature in Box

   We would like to request the following improvements to the “People with the link” option within Box’s Share Link feature, which is used to grant viewing or downloading access to folders or files for organisations or email addresses that do not have a Box account or existing folder permissions.

   At present, requiring the link creator to manually set a password is rather cumbersome, and as a result, many users choose not to do so. Since there is no enforcement mechanism, some organisations restrict or even prohibit the use of this feature due to concerns over security management.

   Furthermore, when compared with other file transfer services, the People with the link option provides somewhat limited functionality for securely sharing files with users or organisations that do not have a Box subscription. Consequently, some organisations opt to use existing external file transfer services instead of relying on the People with the link feature.

   For these reasons, we would like to propose the implementation of the following enhancements.

   1. Enable password protection for the “People with the link” option. 　※No further action should be required from the user.
   2. The generated “People with the link” URL can then be sent to the recipient via email or other means.
   3. When the recipient accesses the link, they are prompted to enter their email address in order to receive the password.
   4. The recipient receives the password notification via email and enters it on the access page.
   5. After entering the password, the recipient is granted permission to view and download the file.

   By providing the above functionality, it would become possible—through administrative console activity logs—to identify, via email address, who accessed or downloaded files shared through the “People with the link” option and when.

   This would enable organisations to verify that files have not been downloaded by unintended recipients, thereby strengthening overall information security management.

   上記の機能を提供することで、「リンクで知っている全員」でファイルを送信したとしても、入力されたメールアドレスをログで確認できるようにすることで、いつ誰がファイルを参照しダウンロードしたのか管理コンソールのレポート機能で確認できるようにすることで、意図しない相手がダウンロードしていないかチェックすることも可能となり、組織全体のセキュリティ強化に繋がると考えます。

8. clear notifications

   We need a notifications dashboard, similar to the task dashboard, where we can select all and mark complete. PLEASE!!! I have a ton of notifications that I've addressed but are still showing up in my "notifications" alert. I don't have time to go through them one-by-one to close them out. Please address issue ASAP.

9. Set dynamic/arbitrary values for comments in approval tasks/general tasks/notifications

   I would like to be able to set dynamic values for comments in approval tasks/general tasks/notifications and arbitrarily set them at the time of assignment.
   Example 1: In a workflow that is manually started and assigned an approval task, an arbitrary comment can be set at startup.
   Example 2: In a workflow that notifies of new uploads, the file name can be dynamically set in the notification content.

10. Multi-user and automatic uploads

    Make box access suitable for multi user computers and have mechanism for automatically uploading data.

    Use case: Lab equipment used by multiple users producing large amounts of data, automatically uploading this to box so as to limit required user interaction and keep local storage in check. Modern equipment can produce large amounts of data and being able to upload this automatically would help with data management. Requiring user intervention to manage their data is less practical with a very large user base so automating this process would again help with this process.

11. Request for improvement of Box mobile app problem when enlarging image data.

    This is a feature improvement request regarding the preview function of Box mobile app.

    When using Box mobile app to preview and enlarge scanned paper or photographed image data on a mobile device,

    the quality of the image data is poorer than when previewing and enlarging image data in Box GUI operated with a web browser, and small text cannot be displayed.

    Reviewing PDFs of A3 size architectural drawings or checking details of diagrams in manuals is inconvenient with Box mobile app.

    Image quality remains constant even when previewing image data using Box GUI in a web browser and enlarging the image with the zoom button.

    Without a doubt, the images are displayed more clearly than in the mobile application.

    Presumably, the mobile app preview uses thumbnail images from the Web GUI for preview display.

    Therefore, it is assumed that image quality will be coarse when image data is previewed and enlarged.

    Box mobile app is often used in the construction and equipment maintenance industries,

12. Send a notification sent to user's when their password is about to expire.

    We use read only sync as a primary use case. Because users do not log into the webapp, they are not aware when their password expires and files are not being synced.

15. Ability to send custom notifications for new uploads by external users

    A customer of ours reached out to ask if it is possible to configure email notifications for a Box folder to send to anyone who uploads a document into this folder. Specifically she is asking whether an automatic reply email can be created and sent to anyone who uploads a file into a folder she owns. This folder is for admissions purposes, so having every uploader adjust their email notification settings is not a practical solution in this case. Since this is not currently an option for Box, I wanted to submit this feedback to suggest for future releases.

    Turn off notifications for the owner of the account on specific tasks not pertaining to this individual. The account owner is receiving notifications for everyone else's tasks and assignments.

    Currently, we know scope of the notification includes co-owner who is collaborated in the folder itself.
    But, we would like you to also notify co-owner who is collaborated in upper folder.

19. Split and transfer data to several users when the owner is deleted (including folder assignment)

    Hi,
    it would be nice if I could split the data of a user to be deleted among more than 1 other user.

    If, for example, a department head leaves the company and another head takes over the disciplinary part on an interim basis, but the technical issues are still mapped in the department, it makes sense to be able to separate the structures. We are currently transferring the disciplinary page manually.

20. Relay: Involve external Users to a manual workflow as "not-owner" of the folder/file

    Hi,

    i discribe a situation:
    The Admin is the owner of all folders/files, directors has co-owner-rights and all employees are editors. It is similarly discribed in "Folder Structure Best Practices" under "Business Unit Drive"
    Now we invite some external users... not only the owner can invite them.
    Then we create some relays for specific folder, especially some manual ones, assign a task and set the Assignee to "Specify at startup"...not only the owner can do this.
    Last but not least we start the manual workflow and choose as Assignee an external user... but wait...ONLY the owner of the folder (1 person, here the admin) can do this.

    This can't be expected behavior.

    We have over 1500 external users... this is not practical.

    If we have a folder with invited external users, at least all internal users who start the manual workflow should be able to include these external users.

    Previously recommended workaround:
    If you are an non-owner of a file/folder and want to add an external user to a manual workflow, create a separate parent folder and invite the external user.
    Now you can also include these external user in manual workflows.

    So to be on the safe side, 1000 internal users are now inviting 1000 external users to one of their folders so that the manual workflows can be used. The external partners will understand, there are only 1000 new folders in their box homepage.

    Luckily our admin is not the owner of ALL folders, but the annoyance is big enough.
    In my opinion, giving co-owners these rights as well would be the bare minimum.
    Because so our employees have sick/holiday cover, but not in Box.
