Easily end collaboration on Hubs
People should have a quick and easy way to remove a Hub from the Hubs gallery. Right now, you have to dive fairly deep into the share menu. It isn't intuitive for end-users.

Option to send notifications when a change is made to a shared file
Have an option to send notifications whenever a change is made to a shared file. I don't want this for every file all the time, but in certain situations this is very helpful - for example, when I'm asking people to add information to an Excel sheet.

I want to set the file update interval to every 5 seconds.
Box Drive accesses the BOX servers every second, so 10 million access logs are logged per month. To control this, we would like to be able to set the update time of files and folders.

Show which users are inactive users when enabling to certain users in Box Sign, Relay etc
When enabling Box Sign, Relay and other additional features to only certain users, error is shown if there are inactive users.
The error does not show which users are inactive so when the admin is not aware of who is the inactive users, it takes time to remove the inactive users.
It would be great if it shows which users are identified as inactive users.4 votes -
Alerts when large amounts of data are being moved
We would like the option to receive alerts if someone is attempting to move or delete a large amount of data from it's original location in Box. This way we can keep users from mistakenly moving large folders and losing them.

Feature: Selective Notification Controls
Problem: Users managing multiple folders receive excessive automated alerts, particularly for collaborator deletions. Currently forced to choose between all notifications or none.
Solution: Add granular notification toggles at folder level, allowing owners to:
• Choose which alerts they receive per folder
• Keep important notifications while disabling non-critical ones
• Control collaboration alerts independently
Value:
• Reduces notification fatigue
• Improves content management efficiency
• Maintains essential security alerts
• Better user experience for folder owners1 vote -
Include the ability to add additional information to a user creation event or new collaboration event
User creation and collaboration often includes a number of details that should be recorded and auditable by Box Admins. When a user is created, there is often a sponsor, a ticket or request ID, and potentially a rationale, project name, or dozens of other information that needs to be remembered by the organization. Likewise, when collaborations are created, there is often additional context that should be auditable after the fact - what is the reason for the collaboration, what is the project or ticket ID that led to the request, who is the sponsor - this is especially important for external collaboration.
Box should allow users to add these details to the event so that they are surfaced in a user activity report under "details" for that event. Ideally, this would be possible in the web application but at minimum this should be possible when APIs are used to create a user or create a collaboration.

Direct transfer tool on macOS from connected NAS to Box online, bypassing the local drive cache
Our scenario is a NAS with 80TB worth of data on it. Mac-only environment.
I know about the standalone transfer tool available on Windows, but this is no option for our macOS environment.
Box Shuttle (cloud) is not an option to get this data onto Box, either as it can't connect to our NAS direclty (and it being in offline network segment).
Uploading in 1 go from the web portal fails miserably.
Drag'n'drop from NAS to connected Box Drive client fills up disk space beyond capacity.
Copying files from my NAS to Box Drive requires a tedious, manual process due to limited internal storage (1TB). I have to copy files in chunks, wait for each upload to complete (without any real overview or confirmation of progress), log out of Box Drive to clear the cache (no other reliable way implemented), log back in, and then repeat the process, carefully tracking my progress. This is extremely inefficient and quickly gets old.
A direct upload tool for macOS, bypassing local Box Drive cache, with full and uptodate status reporting would save my day.

Preview support for SRT subtitle files
Guys, video subtitle files '.srt' are simple structured text files, it would be amazing to add support for previewing them in the interface.

I want to specify 1000 as the fixed value displayed in "File version limit"
The preview of the file version history will show 1000 new records, but after 1000 records, you need to use the API. However, in the "File version limit" section, I can't specify 1000. Please improve it so that we can specify 1000 in the "file version limit".

Add 'Box file request' in the content to Box hubs
We want to add 'Box file request' in the content to Box hubs. This would enable various departments within the company to upload files directly here. Currently, Box file requests can accessed via a link, so having the ability to upload files through box hubs would be extremely convenient.

Make MPIP and Shield Classification Labels Bidirectional
This make require partnership with Microsoft, but it would be ideal if the MPIP integration was bidirectional. For example, if a file in Box doesn't have an MPIP label, but a Shield classification label is applied, the document would have an MPIP label applied based on the mapping table

Workflows with external users
(Japanese follows)
When an external user is invited to a folder, you want to execute a workflow that specifies an external user.Currently, the notification action allows you to create a workflow that specifies an external user.
Since it is not possible to create a workflow that specifies an external user in the "folder action" > "Add collaborator" etc., I would like to see the function improved so that external users can be specified in "Add Collaborator" and other actions.
4 votes -

.docx images are messed up in Box when edited using word online
Whenever I upload a .docx file, I try to edit it. I click the "open" dropdown. I open the .docx file in Word Online. When I add images to Word Online, my document looks fine. However, when I save and come back to Box, my document has images all over the place, in crazy places. I don't think that Box picks up the image formats from Word. Also, every time I make a change in Word it changes the version in Box. I got 22 new versions in just a few minutes, which is not what I wanted.

Merge accounts
If there are two different accounts with two different emails, there should be a way to merge these accounts into one account. Whether individuals, families, or companies, this functionality would be helpful. The permissions should be kept in the transfer, and duplicate files should be identified.

Ability to map Box Groups to Information Barrier Segments
The current requirement for uniqueness in Information Barrier segments only allows Box Admins to add individual users to segments, not user groups. This process can increase the long-term maintenance.
Ideally, customers should be able to use attributes from Active Directory that are then synced to Box Groups. Ultimately, the Box Groups would be used to update Information Barrier segment membership automatically. If the group update breaks the requirement that a user can only belong to one segment, Box could produce an error message.

I want the API to query Box Hubs for AI queries
I want to use the Box AI API to query hubs. Querying a limited set of files and passing to the AI engine is insufficient. I want to leverage the vector database of Hubs to answer questions about a collection of documents.
My other alternative is to build this out myself. I don't want to do this. I want to leverage the power of the Box AI API. Instead of files I want to be able to pick the hub and ask the question for AI to answer for me.

Simplify access to box sign and match other vendors' capability
Add box sign as an option in Microsoft Teams "Approvals" (just like Adobe, Docusign and Sharepoint have ;-) )
