Request "yml" for preview
"yml" is not supported as text preview while "yaml" is available. It is major extension as YAML file and supporting it will help BOX usability. Hoping quiet soon implementation.

Bulk Move Items that are not Updated for a Certain Period of Time
We would like to request for a function that automatically moves items which the last updated date is earlier than a certain period.
For example, if there are items that includes personal data, and those items are not updated for a long time, Box automatically moves those items to a different folder, where access is limited to admins only.

Export input metadata from file upload forms
It would be nice to be able to export a CSV of input metadata during a file upload request.
For example, if I create a metadata template and add those attributes as fields to my file upload form and the uploader inputs their name, email, and other requested details into those fields, I'd like to be able to export the data to a CSV for the folder they uploaded their files to and see columns for each field on the form (including attributes from the metadata template). It would be nice if the export could contain fields on the form…

Ability to set Default Collaboration Role to Viewer-Uploader
Please allow the ability to set Default Collaboration Role in admin console to Viewer-Uploader.
Currently the only options are Editor or Viewer. Editor is too much access as a default and Viewer is too limited. Please provide Viewer-Uploader as a third option or to replacement Editor role. Viewer-Uploader is a safer option as a default as it allows everything Editor role does except delete. Users are not being mindful when they share content and our support team spends time doing search and rescue. If Viewer-Uploader were the default, safer environment and Box will have better appeal.

Limit the use of specific metadata templates to specific folders and specific user-owned content.
When using metadata, it is important to gain the benefits of adding and managing metadata templates, but at present, anyone with authority can use any metadata template.
You can manage your content more sophisticatedly by limiting the use of specific metadata templates to specific folders.13 votes -
Copy All Folder Settings when copying a Folder
When copying a folder, all folder settings should be copied over as well (or have the option to do so). As is, some settings do copy over while others don't. For example:
Can Copy: Restrict Collaboration to within ETF, Disable Commenting, Shared Link Access, Watermarking, Uploading (Overwrite files) and Email notifications
Won't Copy: Only Folder owners and co-owners can send collab invites, Hide Collaborators, Allow Uploads to this folderThis would be especially useful when copying a template folder with a folder structure that needs the same settings when copied for a new project/customer/etc.

File Request Timestamp
File request duplicate timestamps:
When we upload files with same file name via the file request link, time stamp will be automatically added to end of the file name in UTC+0000.
We would like a way to select the timezone used to add the timestamp (maybe the timezone abbreviation can be specified at the end of the file name timestamp for when other collaborators view it)

Please create a standalone app for admins to use to access admin console on mobile.

Add Relay Trigger action for Folder Metadata
Currently you can trigger on the metadata values for a file. Can we add the same trigger for a metadata change on a folder?
Situation: Parent folder metadata change should cause an action that affects all children. i.e. move the folder and all children to another location.

Need to be able to view group members before adding to a folder
Would be great to be able to see members of a group prior to adding them to a folder. At the moment, even those groups which are listed as being viewable by anyone in the company can't be viewed until AFTER they are added to a folder, unless someone is a group admin. It means that either someone has to contact an admin to be sure they have the right group, or they have to add the group and then check right away to make sure they added the right one.

Allow External Collaborators to Search Shared Content for Metadata
If an enterprise shares a folder to outside collaborators, and the content of this folder includes thousands of documents with assigned metadata templates, the external collaborator does not have the ability to filter search that shared content based on the metadata applied.

Box Drive path for InDesign linked files
Background:
We’ve moved the location of Box Drive to be outside the username location for our users. This allows for multiple users to work with InDesign , collaborate, and reference the correct asset links without issue. Reference – community.box.com/t5/Deploying-Managing-Box..Issue:
However, if a user hasn’t previously viewed the file in BOX Drive (e.g. ‘downloaded it to force a local sync’) then the linking of the file still breaks. This causes the following issues : when the user opens an InDesign file, they still need to navigate to anywhere from 5 – 50 different file locations in BOX Drive to ‘open/sync/download’…13 votes -

Map Trash on Box.com to Box Drive App
This is very useful to users who deleted a file accidentally on Box Drive App to recover it without opening Box.com.
I once deleted one file through Box Drive, and it prompted that it would be deleted permanently and Stop me from undoing. I did not realize that it still can be retrieved from Box.com. If we have a Trash folder on Box Drive App that maps to the Trash on Box.com. That would be fantastic.

add ability to block adding secondary email addresses
Looking for the ability to block users from adding secondary emails. We can block them from changing email today but would also like the ability to block the addition of secondary email.

I like automation; I would like to be able to pull data from different Google Sheets that are all located in my Box.
In Google Drive, all the documents can be referenced to each other. For instance, I can pull data from one Google Sheet to another separate Google Sheet (using the IMPORTRANGE function). This function no longer works as it now says "spreadsheet cannot be found."
