  1. Ability to control folder actions on Box Drive

    When using box drive, I would like to update the specifications so that control (move / delete) is possible so as to prevent accidentally moving the folder to an unexpected location.

  3. Show who has locked a file in Box Drive

    In the Webapp you are able to see who has locked a file, in Drive you cannot see this unless you navigate to the web. Heavy Drive users/customers require this information in the Drive UI

  4. Reduce Box Drive log file size on admin device

    Box Drive logs take up over 35GB in four days. If possible, it would be great to either purge old logs or compress them so they don't take up as much space on the local HD.

  5. Log HTTP_PROXY/HTTPS_PROXY Usage in Box Drive (Windows)

    On Windows, we encountered prolonged troubleshooting with Box Drive because setting the HTTPPROXY and HTTPSPROXY environment variables led to unexpected proxy usage.

    While it is widely known in the Python ecosystem that these environment variables can influence program behavior, the impact on Box Drive was not obvious and made diagnosis difficult.

    Could you consider enhancing Box Drive’s logs to output a list of the environment variables it reads (e.g., those related to proxy configuration) so that issues like this are easier to identify?

  6. Fix "missing" files bug in Box Drive

    Please fix the "missing" files bug with Box Drive which has been an issue for years. I'm honestly getting tired of having to tell my users to log out and log back in to clear app cache to fix the issue. It keeps happening after updates. I don't understand why this is so unreliable.

  7. Prevent Box Notes being created from Box Drive when disabled at enterprise level

    When Box Notes application is disabled at enterprise level we should not be able to create new Box Notes from within Box Drive application.

  8. Trigger a Box error when insufficient permissions to open a file in Box Drive

    Right now, if you attempt to open a file from your Box Drive that you do not have download permissions to, it will throw a local application error and not a Box error indicating a permission issue.

    From the end user perspective, this would indicate there was something wrong with this file or Box Drive failed to open.

  9. Make Box Tags visible in Box Drive (on Windows)

    We have used Tags extensively to categorise content in Box, it would be great now that we have moved to Box Drive that these are visible against the folders displayed in here too.

  10. Open the linked file in the notification email in Box Drive.

    When we receive a notification about a folder or file, click on the link in the email and we will be redirected to your browser.
    For users who mainly use Box Drive, being able to transition only to the Web is an added hassle.
    We would like to be able to open files linked to in the notification email in Box Drive as well.

    Box Driveを主に使っているユーザーにとってはWebにしか遷移できないないのは手間が増えます。

  11. I would like shortcut files created on Box Drive to be reflected on Box Web as well.

    I am aware that shortcut files (.lnk) created in Box Drive (on Explorer) are ignored as a file type and cannot be synchronized.
    However, in my work, I use Box Drive a lot and sometimes create shortcuts, but I can't share them because they are not synced, and they are deleted when I log out of the system.
    I feel this kind of specification is very inconvenient.
    I would love to see you respond to make this happen.

  12. SSO multi-zone assignment through Box Drive log in

    We have an enterprise initiative to start leveraging Box drive through our file share migration to Box. The usage is expected to be high within our enterprise since we are working towards enabling Box as an enterprise level application. Since we are a global company, we have requirements regarding data residency and data location within Box. While Zones provide that functionality, through our testing we found the Zone assignment doesn't change when the login is initiated from Box Drive, it only changes when you log through Web UI.

  13. Moving from Box Drive now deletes instead of copies

    When moving a file from Box Drive to another volume like your computer, it now removes the file from BOX altogether. Prior to the latest update to the platform, it used to make a copy by default.

    We use BOX as a file server and this opens up the potential for accidental deletion. Making the source folders read-only doesn't work either because we have to be able to edit contents on BOX.

    Can you provide the option in a setting or elsewhere to turn on forced copy by default when dragging files from BOX to another Volume?

  14. View Owner/Creator of Files in Box Drive

    We would like the ability to display accurate information about the Owner/creator of files within Box Drive for Windows. The Owner column in Windows was used prior to our migration to Box to show who originally created the file for a folder all in a single glance. Although Box.com shows the upload history of individual files, it's a manual process of viewing each file-- a pain point-- compared to the table view of File Explorer with the Owner column displaying.   15. Really need a better way for individuals to organize folders on their Box Drive

    I see some ideas under consideration, and amazingly adding Collections to Box Drive is not one of them. Box Drive urgently needs a better way for individual users to organize contents without affecting the online heirachy for everyone else

  16. Collaborator files from Box Drive not showing up on Box.com

    Ever since we updated our systems to macOS Ventura we've encountered many issues with Box Drive, now we are not seeing files from other collaborators that they report to have synced showing up on other peoples Drive or on Box.com at all. Box Drive has become unreliable lately, and users are being forced to manually upload files via desktop to ensure their files sync. Please fix!

  17. Change in handling of file uploads in Box Drive

    I would like Box Drive to treat an upload as an upload, not a copy, even if a file with the same hash value exists in the range to which I have access.

    This feature is not currently planned, but it is a second-priority item for our team. A related feature—the ability to open a file in Box Drive from the web app—is on our roadmap and will be an initial step toward supporting this request.   19. Updating versions from Box Drive seems to be critically broken

    Saving over files in box drive used to update cloud with a version, it seems this is being ignored, and cannot be trusted when checking if this update is committed to the cloud. Things have gone seriously wrong with Box Drive integration every since macOS Ventura upgrade.

  20. Ability to see and access bookmarks in Box Drive

    Bookmarks: I store a lot of bookmarks in Box. This bookmarks are not visible in the folder structure on my laptop (links seems not to be stored as files). As a consequence e.g. bookmark titles are only searchable via Box browser interface but not via Windows search functionality within explorer
