2. Allow users to know whether a file has been updated via Box Drive.

   Add notifications on file updates within Box Drive. If a file is currently updated, we need to view notifications in the web browser as Box Drive does not show this.

   Currently, marking a file to be watermarked is only supported on the Box webapp. This is a request to be able to watermark files from Box Drive.

4. Hide/Turnoff Box Drive Error message

   With Box Drive, users are getting many error messages pertaining to incompatible file names. Users would like the ability to prevent continued notification since most of these files do not below to them. Possibly could be handled with a [Dont show again] or [Remove from alerts] check box

   You can disable notifications through OS controls for Box Drive. That being said, we are working on improving error handling in Drive to address the root problems and hopefully lead you to disabling notifications as they are an important part of our UX!

5. Disable background sync of Box Drive (for throttled or metered connections)

   This feature would allow background syncing to be turned off for Box Drive. Because MFO and caching are stored in a "container" that is only available while Box Drive is running - there is no way to access MFO files while connected to a bandwidth limited internet connection. You either are forced to background sync or not have access to your MFO files.

   I've (mostly) adapted to using Box Drive instead of Box Sync.

   But a key feature that was lost is the ability to NOT SYNC folders that are marked for offline use.

   Because of the way the offline/cache is stored, the Box Drive MUST be running in order to access those folders.

   If you are working in a throttled/limited bandwidth environment, this can be problematic.

   For example - on inflight Wifi - if you have a synced folder that you are making many (even small) modifications to, Drive will blithely try to update all of those files - hogging bandwidth. Then GoGo decides you are using too much bandwidth and throttles you - even on other apps. Or I am using my phone's hotspot and a coworker drops a HUGE InDesign file into an offline sync folder - chewing through my data plan.

   Unless there is some secret that I haven't discovered, I'm in a catch 22. I can shut down Drive - but then I lose access to my offline files. If I leave it running, it hogs the bandwidth. (With Sync, I could kill the sync app and all my local files were fully accessible and editable. Get to the hotel and re-enable Sync and away it goes, matching everything up. Dropbox was even better - I could run a macro based on WIFI SSID name and issue a command line to enable or disable sync.)

   Best I've managed to do so far is use an app like "Little Snitch" to choke a particular apps access to the TCP/IP stack and fool drive into thinking I wasn't connected to the internet.

   Anyone else have a better solution?

6. Add ability for users to open a folder in Box Drive from the Web App

   Add some kind of "open in Box Drive" option for a folder. Clicking this would cause Box Drive to open the appropriate folder locally.

10. Box Drive should preview files in windows explorer or Finder

    There is a feature in Windows Explorer that allows you to enable a preview pane that previews the contents of files inside of the explorer window. This does not work on files that are in Box Drive even for files that have been opened before.

11. Request for Improvement of BOX Drive Proxy Server Authentication Response Function

    BOX Drive is not working properly in our environment.
    We recognize that BOX Drive is designed to read Pac files, but the communication is succeeding up to the proxy server according to the Pac file.
    However, it seems that it is not able to respond to the authentication response of the proxy server.

    As a result, when we open files in our Office products (Excel and Word) that cannot be opened in a web browser, we have to download the file once from
    BOX.
    This method is not productive for us.

    As a solution, we would like to be able to use BOX Drive to open files directly from Office products (Office desktop applications).
    Please consider improving the support for proxy authentication responses.

    Please note that SSL decoding is not performed for communications to BOX.

    弊社環境において、BOX Driveが正常に動作しておりません。
    BOX DriveはPacファイルを読み込む仕様と認識していますが、Pacファイルに従ってプロキシサーバーまでは通信が成功しています。
    しかし、プロキシサーバーの認証応答に対応できていないようです。

    これにより、弊社ではWebブラウザ上で開けないファイルをOffice製品（ExcelやWord）で開く際、
    BOXからファイルを一旦ダウンロードする必要があります。
    この方法では生産性が低下してしまいます。

    解決策として、BOX Driveを活用し、Office製品（Officeのデスクトップアプリ）から直接ファイルを開けることが望ましく、
    プロキシ認証応答への対応機能の改善をぜひご検討いただきたく存じます。

    なお、BOX宛の通信に関してはSSLのデコードは行っておりません。

12. Restore Box Drive behavior on MacOS when it mounted as an external hard drive with on-demand file streaming

    Product: Box Drive Version 2.24.193 installed 2021-10-12 on MacOS 11.6

    Newest release 2021-10-12 has removed the "external hard drive behavior" and on-demand file streaming feature (as illustrated in first 2 minutes of https://youtu.be/t7tPs1naUtY), which was THE reason I use Box. Now it behaves like OneDrive: (1) viewing Box file requires full download, (2) downloaded file remains on computer until manual removal, (3) dragging and dropping into Box folder literally moves file rather than copying file. These behaviors make life miserable and are the reasons I do not use OneDrive. Now Box has removed the sole reason I want to use Box.

    Box Product Support could not address my concern and told me to report it to Box Pulse.

    When Box Drive mounted like an external hard drive, any Box file (actively edited/viewed or idle) would not ever take up local hard drive space (unlike new version 2.24.193, which forces the file to be downloaded onto local hard drive before it can be edited/viewed, then remains on the local hard drive even after quitting Box app - the local copy must remain until it is manually removed by choosing "Remove Download"); permissions of original file would be fully preserved when original file was copied onto Box drive (unlike new version 2.24.193, which forces all files to be executable by the user); original file would NOT be removed from its original local when drag-and-dropped onto Box folder (unlike new version 2.24.193 which removes the original file from its original location) - this is exactly like OneDrive and a main reason I cannot work with OneDrive.

14. Box Drive updates should preserve Mac Finder Favorites

    I use Favorites in Finder on my Mac to mark folders that I need to access frequently. But, when Box Drive runs and update, my Favorites are all removed. I then need to take time to reestablish all of my favorites. Box Drive should preserve the links in Favorites. This is especially true since Box Drive does not show the favorites marked it the Box webapp.

15. Change Box Drive Storage Location

    I want to be able to move the storage location of Box Drive to something other than the C drive. The space is limiting. Most days accessing data from Box is not an issue but on days the internet goes down at the office or there is a power outage all work comes to a halt without access to files. I can't make all of my files available offline with Box Drive storing to the C drive. It would be nice to be able to have all of my files available in case of unforeseen circumstances. I would also be nice if other users on the network could access the offline files in these circumstances.

    In Box Drive v2.21, it is possible to enable the ability to automatically lock/unlock files when they are opened in Box Drive by modifying the registry.
    However, it is difficult for end users to modify the registry, so we would like to see Box Drive include the feature to automatically lock/unlock files, or provide a configuration tool (such as a batch file for registry modification) to modify the registry.

    Box Web allows you to paste a link to a file or folder as a bookmark to quickly jump to that location. It would be great to have this work for Box Drive as well. The main use case is that we are moving from traditional Windows file shares to Box Drive. The experience is similar in that the files and folders are mapped in a hierarchical structure. The issue we are having is that some departments rely on Windows shortcuts to jump from one location to another in the shared drive.

    The bookmark functionality seems to be able to function as a traditional shortcut, but they don't show up in Box Drive.

    Very often, I create a file through an app into Box Drive and I'd like to see it directly into my Recent files in Box drive, that would be helpful.

    Box Drive will silently update without user interaction if an update is available when the user launches Box Drive (such as after they reboot their machine)

20. Box Drive Should Show Files With Illegal Filenames or Characters

    We need Box Drive to be able to point to the offending error in Windows Explorer or Finder. Click on the offending file, folder is opened and file is selected in Windows Explorer or Finder in order to fix.

    This is not something that we have on the roadmap for the foreseeable future. Notifications were suppressed for these items and we will be investigating different ways to make problem items in general more discoverable.
