  1. Edit User - Add 'Device Name' and 'Device ID' to Installed Applications Section

The 'Installed Applications' section when editing a user on the Managed Users page currently only shows Application Type (e.g., iPhone) and Install Time.

This is problematic when a user has multiple devices (e.g., two entries for iPhone or 2 entries for Sync due to being logged in on more than one device).

Box already tracks Device Name and Device ID in the export of Usage Logs for 'Add Device Association', so Box should also expose this information on the Managed Users page.

REQUEST: Add 'Device Name' and/or 'Device ID' column to 'Installed Applications' section when editing a user on the…

This suggestion is not under consideration for the current or future roadmap. We may revisit adding new functionality to the Installed Apps section with more customer requests for this data.

  2. BOX messaging on EXE previews

I am raising this issue again because we have 2 new software products that are coming out soon. We expect both to be very popular and the below message is VERY confusing that occurs when you try to access an exe file is not acceptable. In fact, it may cause customers not to download the software (both of which have free trial offers before purchase). The current message is a bad customer experience. Saying that .exe files are not supported is ridiculous and not true. It sounds like you cannot get the files--which you really can--you just need to Download.

  3. Request for a web page that better captures domains AND IP ranges for Box, including an XML feed to subscribe, changelog, etc

Can Box emulate Microsoft and create a web page like this. Originally (about 3 years back) this page was bare bones and just contained services, urls and IP ranges. Network admins had to scrape the page to grab the IP ranges they needed and use IFTTT. They have since added an XML feed and a way to subscribe to changes. They post updates once a month or so before they go into effect. Every bit of info on this page (including placement of links) has evolved based on user/admin feedback. https://support.office.com/en-us/article/office-365-urls-and-ip-address-ranges-8548a211-3fe7-47cb-abb1-355ea5aa88a2

  4. User management very slow at scale

Overall the Admin Console is slow especially with searching for/updating a user profile. In some cases it can take about 2-3 minutes to find, update and confirm a user's account was changed.

Individually this hasn't created a problem, but over time it does add up. If it takes 30 seconds to look up a user, another minute to update a user's account and then 30 more seconds to confirm the change, and you have to do this 50+ times a day that quickly adds up. I would like to see updating and confirming a user's account under 30 seconds total…

We have rebuilt the Managed Users & External Users product areas in Admin Console. Let us know if your issues are resolved.

  5. Support for managed user authentication by unique ID other than email address

Email address is not a reliable identifier in our world because it tends to change for the end user at certain times:

User decides to legally change their name (via marriage or other situation)

User is moved from one business unit to another (which prompts a change in their email domain suffix from person@busunit1.company.com to person@busunit2.company.com)

User goes on a leave of absence (in which case the email address is removed or temporarily disabled in their HR system)

When these changes happen (usually initiated from their HR system), it will percolate downstream to update their other applications. Their IdP…

  6. Mobile - Enable Seamless App-to-App Login Flow for 'Add a Place -> Box' within Office Mobile Apps

Currently, when users have the Box/Box for EMM app and are logged in, when they go to the Office apps (Word, Excel, or PowerPoint) and click Add a Place -> Box, they have to ALSO manually log in there.

This could be improved through an 'app-to-app'-style login handoff.

    Ideal UX:
    1. User is logged into Box / Box for EMM app
    2. User either taps 'Open in Excel/PowerPoint/Word' from the Box app OR taps Add a Place -> Box within Office app
    3. The Box and Office apps 'talk' to each other and perform a login handoff (like Capture does…

  7. Search for Users Currently on Legal Hold

Currently we are dealing with a matter that has spiraled into a huge undertaking because of the way Legal Holds are implemented. Our client has enabled over 25 Legal Hold policies, each one has an average of 50 users. We have a list of over 20 custodians that we need to know which Legal Hold they are currently on, if any.

There are two ways to implement this:
1 - Allow Admins to see whether the custodian (or any of their data) is currently on a Legal Hold policy, which Legal Hold Policy it is currently on, and why it…

  8. Behavior of checkbox [Disable all email notifications for all collaborators] in folder settings.

[Email and Notifications] section in folder settings ([...] > [Settings]) , when the settings saved with checkbox [Disable all email notifications for all collaborators] selected, the radio buttons [Use my default notification settings] and [Override default settings for this folder and all subfolder] remaining inactive even if the checkbox selections cleared.
Therefore, when I change the setting of radio buttons I have to save it once.
It is inconvenient, so it needs to be improved so that radio buttons can be activated without saving once when the checkbox is cleared.

    日本語(Japanese):
    フォルダに対する[...]>[設定]>[メールと通知]セクションで[すべてのコラボレータへのすべてのメール通知を無効化する]が選択されている状態で設定が保存されていると、選択を解除しても[デフォルトの通知設定を使用する]、[このフォルダとすべてのサブフォルダのデフォルト設定を上書きする]のラジオボタンが非活性のままであり、選択を解除した状態で一度保存しないと上記2つのボタンが活性状態に戻らないのは不便である。
    そのため、[すべてのコラボレータへのすべてのメール通知を無効化する]の選択を解除したタイミングで[デフォルトの通知設定を使用する]、[このフォルダとすべてのサブフォルダのデフォルト設定を上書きする]のラジオボタンが活性化するようUIを改善してほしい。
