Automatic update of Box tools from the company LAN via a proxy.
Box Tools automatic update fails in an environment where Internet communication is performed from the company LAN via a proxy.
Please change the BoxTools update "Box Edit Upgrade Service" to the specifications that read the ProxySetting of CurrentUser in the Local System and communicate.
With the current specifications, automatic updates are not possible.
Therefore, every time there is a version update, a manual update is performed, which takes a lot of man-hours.(OS used: Windows10)
We have verified and confirmed the following. (The log file has also been confirmed.)
(1) If the logon of "Box Edit Upgrade Service" is "Local System" (default), the update of Box Tools fails.
However, by changing the logon from the Local System to the logged-in user (has been set proxy), communication via Proxy was possible and the update was successful.(2) When the Proxy setting was assigned to the Local System itself with the following command, the automatic update was successful.
Command line: bitsadmin / Util / SetIEProxy LocalSystem Manual_Proxy <Server name>: <Port number>
(This setting affects other systems and has a problem because services running on all other Local Systems also communicate via Proxy.)③ BoxDrive update service (BoxUpdateSvc) communicates via Proxy even in LocalSystem and has succeeded in updating.
(Localsystem extracts ProxySetting of CurrentUser and communicates.)Box Tools automatic update fails in an environment where Internet communication is performed from the company LAN via a proxy.

Allow users to click outside of the Refresh File pop-up box without having to click Cancel or Ok
Currently you can't do anything on the screen without clicking one of the options on the Refresh File pop-up box that appears after editing. 90% of the time, I'm trying to leave that screen and I don't need to see the updated version because I just edited it. If that box could disappear if I click anywhere on the screen, that would be ideal.

Box for Office Logs
Log files are stored with annoying date stamp format. Log files should be stored like BoxExcelLogDate.txt rather than BoxExcelLog.txtdate.

Remove greyed out options for editable shared links
Remove greyed out options for editable shared links if the edit option has been removed from the enterprise settings. It causes end user confusion and would rather have it not be visible if the admin/IT/Security teams choose to not elect to have this available within enterprise settings.

Custom Identifiers that can be seen in user reports
Customer Requests the ability to upload custom identifiers that can be seen when running user reports. Currently they use the user's email address to determine if a license is needed, and when a name change occurs, this creates confusion as it appears that the person may have left and the license is no longer needed.

Folder Under Retention Should Not Be Purged From Trash
When a folder is deleted from trash that contains files under retention policy it causes issues because the files are no longer visible to the customer to recover them. This happens if the trash admin setting is set to purge all trash in a certain time period.

Restrictions on the use of direct links/直接リンクの利用制限
When issuing a shared link, the direct link is displayed on the screen transition of "Link setting" from the shared link issue screen, so there are cases where the direct link is used by mistake.
There are many cases where users with free accounts cannot use it because they share files using direct links.
Therefore, please make improvements so that the use of direct links can be restricted on a tenant-by-tenant or folder-by-folder basis.(In Japanese)
2 votes -
Request to add a function that can delete the classification in Box Relay
<Request to add a function that can delete the classification in Box Relay>
We can change the Box shield classification in Box Relay, but we cannot delete the classification.
The classification maintains the set classification even if we move or copy it, but in some cases we may want to change to the destination classification or delete the classification.
Therefore, I would like you to add a function that can delete the classification.<Box Relay
11 votes -
Box Uploader should be also listed as the Box File Owner
It is frustrating to see that the Owner of a Box Folder structure, is listed automatically as the Document Owner. Can this be changed to reflect the Owner as the person who uploaded the file instead. So if there are any questions on files, it goes to the right person, rather than to a Box Folder Owner who actually would have to field and re-direct as appropriate which is not ideal.

Too many clicks to share files + see download activity!
I'm finding it inconvenient that, to share a link once it's uploaded in the web interface, I have to click "Create & Copy Shared Link", then click "Link settings", then click "Copy", then click "Save", then click the X to close the window. That's five clicks just to grab the direct link. It may not seem like much, but it adds up - and I could have sworn it was a faster, more efficient process in earlier versions of Box years ago.
Not only that, but the recent change to the layout of the web interface in terms of seeing if the file has been downloaded is also frustrating. The user has to click on the file, then click "See Details", then click X to go back again. Really, it would be a lot more ergonomic if that info came up automatically in the right hand column once the file was clicked on - so just one click to find out, rather than a total of three.
I mean, it's eight clicks all up to grab the link and then see if it's been downloaded. I can't be the only one who's noticed how un-streamlined this is. And the loss of the "Updates" summary to see which files are being downloaded and by whom is also a frustrating loss of functionality for a customer. Can't we restore the functionality we had in earlier versions of Box, given that we're still paying customers?

word comment email
We wanted Box to send an email notification to a specific collaborator when we comment in Word Online using Word's comment feature. It would be nice if the email includes the link to the comment in the Word Document.

Box Sign - Results of filled out fields populate into a CSV.
Results of Bulk Send, Ready Sign, and/or individual contracts populate into a CSV.
E.g. I fill out W9 fields [NAME], [Address], [Social Security #], etc., and these results populate into a CSV.

Select and Download Individual Files from Zip File Preview
The ability to Preview Folders within a zip file exists, however, you cannot click on individual files. It would be nice to be able to select the individual files from the zip file preview and then download the selected files.

More Fonts for Japanese
Currently there is only one font available when signing in Japanese.
It would be great if there are more font options in Japanese as well.12 votes -
Recent Box Notes design update - I need table width consistency, dislike the off-page scrolling
I use Box Notes quote a bit throughout every day and am really struggling with this new design update, especially to the tables formatting. I use a new table for each day's notes, and make a new file every month.
This design update has completely messed up the formatting of each table's size: some horizontally scroll off page, some truncate columns and cut words in half, and none are default to width of page. It's extremely disorienting and has set me back quite a few hours.

Updated date and Uploaded date are not the same thing
We would like to be able to retain the file updated date or modified date during file upload. Right now the updated date is the date file was uploaded which is not really the updated date and time from the local machine.
This is very critical as updated date is very important to end users when migrating or uploading files to Box. Imaging thousands of files uploaded to Box all have the same uploaded date under Updated date column.
Thank you!
