Automatic warning when generating "people with link" shared link
Generating a shared link with "people with link" settings is very easy for end users, to the point where they might not realize the degree to which they open that content up to hard-to-mitigate, external distribution. An automatic warning, when an end user selects" people with link," is required per company security policy.
1 voteWe understand the concern and believe the proper way to implement this is to either allow the admins to default shared links to “people in my company” and/or when a user selects “people with link” and admin can select a setting to pop up a warning message. We wouldn’t want to implement this by default to all customers since this is adding friction to sharing which will have a negative effect on that action.

Actions to make documents and folders (box drive, 'Make Available Offline' ) appear in reports as Downloads - same as normal downloads
When identifying anomolous downloads (ie potential data leakage), we utilise both Box Shield alerts and User Activity reports to establish details.
However, User Activity reports (csv, column E 'Action') do not differentiate between those documents and folders downloaded, and those that are 'Made Available Offline'. When attempting to avoid data leakage, the difference is important. Making content available offline is a legitimate task for users. However, large quantities of normal downloads may indicate fraudulent theft of data.
We need to be able to differentiate between the two types, as soon as possible
Because User Activity Reports record items as 'Download'…

Timestamp watermark appears in GMT timezone when public shared link is accessed.
When a user is logged into Box and accesses a shared link, the watermark will appear in the timezone for their Box account.
But when a public shared link is accessed without logging into a Box account, which is the most cases, then the watermark timestamp will appear in GMT instead of the device time settings.
This would cause inconsistency for the time accuracy , some are the time user download or view the file, however some are not (GMT).

Quickly get a list of folders with NO collaboratoins
We have a few hundred abandoned/orphaned folders from people who left the enterprise, but did not transfer ownership of files. The folders were not deleted when the accounts were deleted. I could quickly delete quite a few of them if there are no collaborations--going by the logic that if there are no collaborations, there is nothing important in them and could easily be deleted since no one has missed the data for several years.

Ability to change file/folder name rich text
It would be lovely if a user could change the font/color/bold/underline on file and folder names.
We have a scenario where we are going to "archive" certain shared folders and lump them under a single folder but it would be nice if we could change the color of the text of the folder name to say red and maybe make it bold. It would stand out in the list of all folders in the root.2 votes -

Perform full file and folder inventory for users that includes the folders/files which they can access
Requesting to perform full file and folder inventory for users that includes the folders/files they have access to, not just the ones they own. Include fields like – date modified, created date, and any other file attributes normally included in the file and folder report.
The File and Folder reporting mechanism but it’s lacking features to perform an inventory across hundreds of specific folders (in an environment where a lot of folders have the same name).
The content manager, only reports on files that users own and they don’t own files in our taxonomy. The initial view looks good…

Add view-only open shared link to view workflow
We want this to share for auditing purposes, as the shared link only works for people that are part of the workflow.

I want to share only the necessary folders and files on the BOX drive
Since it is troublesome to access BOX.com, I usually access and edit the necessary folders and files from the BOX drive, but it would be convenient to be able to display only the necessary folders and files. Currently, when you open a folder with "Windows + E", all the folders and files in "All files" of BOX.com are displayed on the BOX drive, but you do not access all of these, and you can save files that are accessed infrequently. I think you should check BOX.com to confirm.
I think it would be useful to have options such as "Share…2 votes -
Shared link works on desktop but fails on mobile
I received a Box link from a contact in the form https://app.box.com/s/[string]/folder/[string]. Clicking this link in iOS Mail app opened a Box web page in Safari with the message "This shared file or folder has been removed." I tried to resolve this by installing the Box app. Clicking the link now opened the Box app with a message telling me I must log in to access my content. This would not be possible for recipients without a Box account.
In macOS Mail, clicking the link opened a Box web page in Safari correctly listing the shared files. Without logging…

Unable to add URLs ( Internet Shortcuts) to Box Folders
Favorite URLs ( Internet Shortcuts) are unable to drag and drop on Box folders, while the same is available for local folders ( C Drive). I find this very frustrating and limiting our ability to use BOX. Please resolve this issue urgently.

Ability to create folders on the fly when moving/copying content
Users would like to be able to create a folder when moving/copying content, as opposed to only being able to move/copy content to pre-existing folders. It would save time and energy to be able to do that on the fly as opposed to creating the folder ahead of time.

invite sharing - save message
When a collaboration invite has been accepted, the "<User> has accepted your invite" message should include the original invite message.
This will remind me why I shared the file with the user and what the user was asked to do with this file.

Images pasted in BoxNotes are not displayed due to the "Shared links expiration settings".
If you have enabled the "Shared links expiration settings", images pasted on BoxNotes will also have that expiration date setting.
Therefore, after the expiration date has passed, images pasted on BoxNotes will no longer be displayed in BoxNotes.
We would like to see the specification changed so that images pasted on BoxNotes are not affected by the "Shared links expiration settings".2 votes -
Custom scope feature for Shared Links
We would like to request the addition of a feature that allows content sharing to be set narrower than "company users" and broader than "invited users only" in "Enterprise Settings" using groups.
As a result, in organizations such as educational institutions where customers such as children, pupils, and students exist within the same tenant, it will be possible to guarantee the fairness of sharing safely within a limited range without collaboration.

Add configuration to specify a folders data center
Add the ability to allow files to be stored across multiple data centers. We have multiple offices around the world being able to locate the files closer to where they are needed will address our performance & availability concerns.
This should be configurable by folder and inherited to the sub folders.

Password protected folders - systems allows setting password not meeting log-in criteria
When I set shared link with customer, I generate password for him and send it to him so he can access the folder. System allows me to create password which is not accepted by the system when the customer wants to sign in! That is very embarrasing.
For example today I created shared folder, made a password (long enough, but containg only one number) and sent it to the customer to cooperate. System allowed me to set the password, but when the customer wanted to access the folder, he had to use the password but it was not accepted because…2 votes -
Bulk Add someone as a co-owner to existing folders
Make a way to bulk add someone to multiple existing folders in Box as a co-owner. This stems from if you want to make someone a co-admin so they can assist with existing folder creation/access for newer employees of your company you would have to add them to a folder individually to achieve this. If you have many folders this would take a long time as a manual process so a bulk add would make it that easier to do.

Send Shared Link via Default Email Desktop Application
In shared link pop-up window, include an option to send the link via the default desktop email client instead of through Box. This would open up a new email in their email client with the shared link in the body of the email.
This experience would be similar to the experience of when you click an email address on a website and the default email app on your computer is opened.

Email Notification for moved folders incorrect
We are seeing situation where a email message is generated indicating a folder has been deleted when a collaborator moves it out of the Owner's folder. The email contains a link to the owner's trash folder that results in an error message if you try to follow it.
Here is the setup.
User A - Creates a folder that contains sub-folders and files.
User A - Invites User B as an Editor on the root folder.
User B - Moves one of the sub-folder in the shared folder to another location in their own Box account.
User A -…1 vote
