Feature requests
I wish Box notes were more like DropBox Paper. Top things I like:
- The editor is essentially a live Markdown editor so nearly all formatting doesn’t require leaving the keyboard.
- Full support for Markdown export.
- Comments can be attached to each paragraph - so much better than the one thread per Box note.
- Links are properly clickable without the silly ‘link bubble’
- Auto-generated ToC

Copy file from relay should version the target, not create a new file
We have a release workflow, where documents are being copied to a shared environment after they have been approved. This works well for the first version of the document.
However, if we change the document and send it through the approval process again, Box creates a new document at the target area. Box does NOT create a new version of the existing document.
Since this process is really key to creating "Quality Managed" documentation, Box relay should offer to version an existing document. Defaulting to creating a new document, makes Box unusable for these kind of approvals.

Show folder option
When I move or copy a file, I am given the option to "Show File." It would be nice to have the option to "Show Folder" also.

Mark comments as resolved
Love the direct comments/annoations on the file because, when I'm providing feedback, I can circle where I'm referring to and then insert my comment. But when the owner makes the change, the comment is still on the slide. Owners should be able to mark the comment as resolved which hides the comment.

Enhance the Box for DocuSign Integration in terms of metadata
We would like to put some information of DocuSign Envelope (such as contract data, term of contract, type of contract etc.) into Box metadata instance in an automated way. Currently, there's two ways users would be able to do are; 1. users manually populate metadata such as transaction amount in signed document or 2. using iPaaS (Workato) to automate populating metadata. No.1 is inefficient and time-consuming and has human-error risk. No.2 requires additional cost. This is actually required by Japanese local law when we save financial documents digitally. Printing Annotations Attached to Box Notes
Currently annotations do not appear when a BOX Note is printed. It would be helpful if the option to print the the annotations was given as a setting.

When a new sandbox is created, automatically inherit the IP whitelist setting from the primary EID
When we created our primary EID, we needed to provide IP address ranges so we could restrict access to our enterprise instance of Box to only users from within our corporate network. Each time we create a new Sandbox we need to ask Box support to apply the same IP range. We would like the Sandbox EIDs to automatically inherit the whitelist settings from the primary EID. This will reduce any risks of a malicious individual potentially creating a new Sandbox and not configuring the restrictions so that it is only accessible from within our corporate network.

White IP list for Admin Console Access
We would like to restrict access to Admin Console by IP address. ( White IP list for Admin Console Access) because it is most critical features add users and modify user access right.

Add an option to create PDF/A docs from scans on iOS
The PDF/A format is archival. As we are scanning documents to save using the improved "Scan Document" function in Box, it would great if we could (either on the fly or as a static setting) choose to save PDF files as PDF/A.

Ability to send e-mails from Box Web UI when "Restrict collaboration to within <Enterprise name>" in folder setting are activated
Following enhancement was made at May 7th, 2021.
Collaboration Allowlist Enhancement
https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/1500008585062Customer are setting collaboration for internal only by folder setting.
In this state, shared link are used to share files with external users.But with the update above, we can no longer send shared links by email from Box Web UI.
Copying the shared link and sending a separate email is a workaround, but it doesn't get users to understand.

Add ability to undo an Approval/Rejection
This morning I accidentally clicked on the Approve button rather than the Reject button, allowing an incomplete document to be submitted for approval
It would be nice if an approval or rejection could be undone. Perhaps within a short time frame.

Data files that are textual are not identified as text for preview
I'd LOVE for the ability at the enterprise level to be able to say that ANY file with a given extension should be previewed as if it were this other extension. This would both add extensions as WELL as override the Box.com default content type logic.
examples:
myCustomersOrderData.edi should be previewed as is it were a text file, so .edi as .txt
.json as .txt
.funky as .mdI say at the enterprise level so this works for manually uploaded files. However, if an appropriate attribute could be sent in the file upload|modify|version APIs, that would be better than nothing.

Accessibility - Update 'Not Part of [Organization]?' text on company-specific URL's to indicate that it is a link for screen readers
We have a company URL, for example organization.box.com; there is a link that reads, "Not a part of [organization]?" Clicking it brings you to the generic Box login page. However, this text is not handled correctly by screen readers. We propose that this should be updated for the benefit of our current and future clients who may rely on a screen reader.
From our accessibility department: "So when the screen reader gets to that line, it does not indicate that it needs to be clicked "if you are not part of [the organization]." It is vague, and does not guide…

Streamline File Naming in Box Mobile App: Allow User-Defined or Auto-Generated Filenames
Ability to have a setting that allows the user to choose name a file OR for Box to provide the filename.
Currently the way the mobile app works - user uploads the file, then selects it and then renames it is too many clicks, and not an ideal way of easily adding content.

Whitelisting Access Using Managed User Groups
Companies frequently hire contractors and provide them with company email addresses to access internal networks and applications. This creates an issue with contractors having visibility into an entire folders and not just the projects/folders that apply to them. Shield's whitelisting capabilities allow us to limit external email domains, but because contractors are given a company email domain the whitelisting capabilities do not apply.
We would like to be able to create a "Consultants" Managed User Group and whitelist access to break waterfall permission for internal Managed User Groups.
