1. Re-add 'Print' option to Shared File / Folder pages

2. We would like to see Box Hubs have a separate shared link permission setting

   Currently, Hub shared links can be allowed from “Enterprise Setting” > “Content & Sharing”, but with the current settings, if Hub shared links are disabled, general folder and file shared links will also be restricted, which is very inconvenient.
   Therefore, please consider making the shared link setting of the Hub independent, and allow shared links to be allowed for each individual Hub.

   We have now released a feature allows users to block Hubs from being shared publicly via “anyone with the link”:

   • Admins can set a global default in Hubs Global Presets to prevent open/public shared links for all new Hubs.
   • Co‑owners can also restrict public shared links at the individual Hub level, as long as the admin hasn’t locked that setting.

   But we haven't released a separate settings for Hubs links in general so I move this request back to "Under consideration". This is something we want to make in the future but not on our roadmap yet.

   
   

3. Show icon in Drive for parent folders when sub-folders are marked for offline

   Currently, users are easily able to manage the hard drive space being used by BOX by simply checking into their sync folder and deciding then what they may prioritize as necessary to sync or un-sync at a quick glance. Even in the instances where there are multiple folders and sub-folders included, it’s a clear representation of what’s being synced at the time.

   These same users currently sync A LOT of files within a fairly deep folder structure, so not having an insight into which folders are taking up space only leaves a user to chicken peck around in the hopes of finding which folders are available offline or not…..or, they’re only other option is to log out, losing all offline files and start again.

4. Be able to have the folders which are shared with other collaborators "invisible" in Drive.

   In Box Drive UI, a user cannot distinguish whether the folder is collaborated with "Other company's user" or not. This may cause accidental info leak.

   In order to avoid those information leaking, we want to have those folders "invisible" on Box Drive in advance.

   We will not be supporting custom colors for folders. We’re investigating having visual indicators for certain classifications.

6. Box Drive support for bookmarks to files and folders

   Box Web allows you to paste a link to a file or folder as a bookmark to quickly jump to that location. It would be great to have this work for Box Drive as well. The main use case is that we are moving from traditional Windows file shares to Box Drive. The experience is similar in that the files and folders are mapped in a hierarchical structure. The issue we are having is that some departments rely on Windows shortcuts to jump from one location to another in the shared drive.

   The bookmark functionality seems to be able to function as a traditional shortcut, but they don't show up in Box Drive.

   Box Web allows you to paste a link to a file or folder as a bookmark to quickly jump to that location. It would be great to have this work for Box Drive as well. 7. Shared Link Expiration (Exception) Settings at Folder Level

   I need to be able to control the shared link expiration rules at the folder level, especially when they are an exception from the enterprise-wise rule. We have a handful of use cases that fall outside of the top-line structure, and updating links 1-by-1 is added workflow time on the team. Changing for all assets under a folder would save time and impact when links expired by accident or stay live beyond desired timeline.

    Thank you for this suggestion. This is a resource-intensive feature which is not prioritized for our roadmap.

13. Better workflows for organizing content

    A colleague of mine works in an a department we'll call "DepartmentX" in a larger organization. Within other departments in the org they create a "DepartmentX" folder and share that to my colleage's box account.

    My colleague now has several "DepartmentX" folders and cannot at a glance see where they are from.

    In the initial view in Box and even on BoxDrive the "root" is polluted with other people's stuff and it is not possible to organize that into sub folders that are meaningful.

    If a user tries to drag a shared-folder into a folder they created Box attempts to copy the folder with a warning about changing permissions. What was expected to happen is that rather than appearing at the top level of the account (all files) that user-organize folders would appear and the shared folder would be in a sub-folder and continue to be a reference to wherever it is actually hosted.

    You might need to create the notion of a sharedAt folder as part of the shared-folder's data structure that says not only that it is shared to user X but that it is shared in a folder/collection within that user's box.

    The model right now is to treat the initial view like the Operating system desktop and making everything created or that other people create appear in the same space and with the possibility of having the same name.

    Whether a sharedAt solution is the right approach there needs to be a way of viewing what a user has access to that has some degree of organization, where shared content may be organized by who shared it to the user:

    MyBox
    MyContent
    User/OrganizationX
    DepartmentX (shared folder)
    Shared file.docx
    SomeFile.txt
    UserY
    DepartmentX (shared folder)
    README.txt
    UserZ
    DepartmentX (shared folder)
    Stuff.zip

    The above structure is meant to show that if organized by who shared the data multiple folders with the same name are no longer an issue. This is especially important in an enterprise scenario.

    You can do the single catch all folder if you provide for different views and who shared what is but one.

    Since you already support tags, you could have a view that shows content grouped into tag-folders.

    So the two views identified here are:
    Sharing View
    select all files owned by user as MyFiles union select all files shared to user group by owner

    Tagged Content View
    with tags as (select disticnt tags from files where owner is user or file file is shared to owner x) Select all files where tag in tags group by tag

    I know it won't be that trivial database wise, but conceptually the point of tags is for being able to find content and a sharing view.

    You could also do more of Apple's notion of "Smart Folders" where the folder is a "view" in the database sense that it is named search criteria that can be treated like a read-only folder. I think this is in part what others are calling collections, but if the search tech were expanded to allow results to be grouped into folders (at least in the display) by some property like owner or tag, then having the ability to name the search and save that as a view-folder would mean users could create criteri- based collections and have more meaningful ways to explore their content. BoxDrive could list the views much like FileExplorer has a "QuickAccess" section

14. Shared Link Unavailable Prompt

    User believes that current 'shared link has been removed or is unavailable to you' page could be confusing to users that have access but are not logged in, and that the messaging should include a prompt to log in if user believes they have reached the page in error.

15. Copy file name and URL and path for shared link

    The "Copy Shared Link" action in Box Drive (or Copy button in the Share pop-up dialog in the Web UI) should copy more than just the URL.
    It should also have the file name and the current Box path so when I paste the link into a chat or email message, it has all the information the recipient will want.

16. Access policy prohibiting copying and moving to external folders(gray folders)

    Current Status and Issues:
    Currently, when a file or folder with a classification label is copied or moved to a gray folder, the classification is lost and the associated access policy stops working.
    The only way to prevent this is to prohibit the move or copy itself by attaching a DL inhibit label.

    Desired improvement:
    Please add "Prohibit copying to gray folders" to the access policy so that it can be set for each classification label.

    Why it is needed:
    Because some customers are not attracted to Shield due to the above problem.
    Also, setting a "no download" label would significantly reduce convenience.

19. Relay: Trigger from External shared folder

    Would like the ability to create Box Relay workflows where the trigger is in an External folder. My specific use case is our bookkeeping partner provides us dozens of files per day across several processes, and they use Box on their end to manage that process. We'd like to have for the folders that they share with us the ability to create a Relay flow that would trigger when they add files to those folders (e.g. When a new file is added to External ABC, create a copy in Internal ABC and notify some users).

    This would allow us to eliminate a work step on our partner's end of constantly sharing files with us, and remove a work step on our end of downloading those files from their portal.

    Understanding there are some nuances here, especially since in this example my organization would not be an editor on the external folder, but for actions that don't require edit privileges (copy, notify, etc.) would think this is feasible.

20. Deleting all active shared links in bulk

    I want to delete all the active shared links within our Company but the only way to do this is sending a report to each user for them to do themselves. As admin I would like to be able to do this every for example 3 months. This would help keep information secure by not having lots of shared links that have been forgotten about active,
