1. Support for MacOS Finder Tags (the colored dots) in Box is Needed

   Under Catalina and before Finder Tags worked the same on Box Drive as they would on a local drive.

   Finder Tags are a significant feature for MacOS users and not having them any more is a problem. Many MacOS users depend on Finder Tags in work flows and losing this feature has broken long established processes to manage files.

2. back up

   Allow Box to automate back up to either a hard drive or 3rd party location automatically, give the recent concerns about CrowdStrike crash and how that stopped so many workdays, we want to protect ourselves if that were to ever happen in Box!

4. Seamless zoom in box web app for pictures

   In light of Box's stance for Windows Universal apps. I'm requesting improved zooming support inside the preview/webapp experience.

   Currently to zoom you must manually click the +/- button which is a loss of function compared to a native desktop app where you might be able to zoom with the mouse wheel or ctrl+mouse wheel.

   Requesting that Box add a similar functionality to the preview / webapp.

   Below is Box' current official workaround for the issue:

   Windows Store Applications (Photos, Office, etc.): Users are unable to open files from the Box Drive folder when navigating to it from within these applications. Users may also experience errors or silent failures when saving from these applications into Box Drive.
   We recommend you install the .exe or .msi version of these applications (for example, Photos or Office) instead of the Windows Store app. Otherwise, on the windows store app you'll need to save the item outside of the Box folder and then drag the item back into Box.

5. Persistent cookies

   Similar to Okta and Google Drive, we need the ability in Box to set use persistent cookie so the cookie doesn't expire when the browser is closed.

   Google Drive allows this by default, and Okta lets us specify the policy for specific users:
   ( see usePersistentCookie according in https://developer.okta.com/docs/reference/api/policy/#signon-session-object)

   Workflow:
   * launch browser, go to Okta, and log in (our IDP)
   * open up the box link - everything works
   * close the browser
   * open the browser
   * I'm still logged into Okta (since I have usePersistentCookie turned on)
   * when I go to a Box link, I'm required to renter my credentials

   Reason why this is important: allows use Box in certain settings with custom apps.

6. Enable opening of objects with long folder paths

   In Box Sync, you were able to open files regardless of path length - there was sometimes an issue with saving long path files, but not with opening.

   In Box Drive, you cannot open files with long path lengths...which is obviously a problem for any organization that uses a deep folder structure.

   Solely seeking feature parody between box sync and box drive...

7. Prevent desktop box folder deletion

   Please create a way to globally disable users the ability to delete folders from their desktop with Box Drive.

   They are under the impression that if they hit "delete" on the folders they are removed from the Projects. This in turn has caused a lot of chaos from team members deleting the entire Project folders instead of going to the Box website and revoking their permissions.

   No amount of training we try do it can solve this with a company our size.

   Team members are deleting terabytes of data and it's exhausting trying to recover all this data.

8. I want to specify Box directly as the file download destination from the web

   When downloading a file from a website, it needs to be saved locally first and then uploaded to Box.

   I would like a browser extension that would allow me to directly specify a Box folder as the download destination.

   Of course, I know I could use Box Drive, but as a company I would like to stop using Box Drive in the future.

9. Internal links to documents for collaboration

   We use Box Drive for a native experience for users to access documents. The downside is when collaborating on documents, most people tend to upload a copy of the document to an email and send it, which results in multiple versions of the document. On my prior document system, Outlook would allow users to upload a file that was actually a link to the stored document so people could collaborate on it. I know we could create/send a shared link, but this would result in alot of unnecessary links floating around. Could Box Drive/Outlook prompt to upload a link to the actual document rather than a copy of the document? The link would follow existing permissions.

12. Support Document Tabs in Google Docs.

    I am a heavy user of Document Tabs [1] to help with my productivity and organization when using Google Docs.

    However, if I create a Google Doc from Box or if I save my Google Doc from Google Drive into Box, the document tabs that I use are removed and the document tab feature is disabled. Because I don't have this feature, I am avoiding the creation of my Google Docs and storing my Google Docs in Box because it is causing a major disruption to my productivity.

14. Identify version limit limitations

    As limits on versions exists - and the most important for us is having access to the earlier versions - we would like a warning to happen when an earlier version is about to become unavailable - least then we know that we need to make some copies or alterations to how our drive is updating our files.

15. BOX for Outlook - Saving Outlook messages in .msg and not .eml format

    Outlook messages saved to BOX using the BOX for Outlook icon default to .eml format and thus cannot be previewed in BOX.
    The only way to save the message in .msg format (that can be previewed) is to use Outlook's 'Save as' feature and force it to save the message in .msg format to BOX Drive. This is a very time-consuming process.
    I would like to see Outlook messages defaulting to .msg and not .eml format.

    -Overview-
    example: the 'ga' syllabary series in the Japanese alphabet
    'ガ'is U+30AC on windows or unix/linux
    -> NFC(Normalization Form Canonical Compression)
    'ガ'is U+30AB U+3099U on mac OSX
    -> NFD(Normalization Form Canonical Decompression)

    As you know, mac OSX　use only NFD.
    Windows use NFC usually, but NFD can be used at the same time.

    When trying to share BOX folder between Win and mac, Inconvenience occurs.

    -problem-
    First
    In Windows explorer, NFC and NFD are displayed as the same character on the screen, so they are indistinguishable.

    The second
    In Adobe InDesign, image files are managed as "link files", but file names are managed by NFC, so upload InDesign data created on mac OS to the shared BOX folder and download it on Windows. Cutting file link will occur.

    The third
    Where NFC uses one character in UTF-8, NFD uses two characters in UTF-8.
    The file "がぎぐげござじずぜぞだぢづでどばびぶべぼぱぴぷぺぽガギグゲゴザジズゼゾダヂヅデドバビブベボパピプペポヴ.txt" can be used on macOSX, but this file cannot be saved on the BOX server by Finder using BOX Drive.
    Even if two characters are used, "xx.txt" uses only 106 characters.
    And from Windows PC,
    The file "がぎぐげござじずぜぞだぢづでどばびぶべぼぱぴぷぺぽガギグゲゴザジズゼゾダヂヅデドバビブベボパピプペポヴ.txt" (By NFC) there will be no problem with BOX Drive.
    But, with macOS X / Box Drive, the inside of the BOX server is not displayed in the Finder.
    "がぎぐげござじずぜぞだぢづでどばびぶべぼぱぴぷぺぽガギグゲゴザジズゼゾダヂヅデドバビブベボパピプペポヴ.txt"(By NFC) uses only 55 characters in NFC.
    Are you having another problem?

    -Operation on mac OSX-
    When writing to a FAT32 formatted USB memory device on mac OSX, write the file name using NFC.

    When uploading data to a shared folder using the cifs protocol on mac OSX, write the file name in NFC format.

    When uploading data to a shared folder using the AFP protocol on mac OSX, write the file name in NFC format.

    On mac OSX, write file name in NFD format only when writing data to HFS+ format HDD.

    mac OSX does not accept any NFC on HFS+, and NFC automatically converts to NFD when downloading data from the BOX server.

    -Proposal-
    When writing data to the BOX server using BOX Drive for MacOS, please convert it to NFC instead of NFD and write the data.

    When uploading to the BOX server, no one will be troubled even if it is converted to NFC instead of NFD and saved. Inconvenience has occurred rather than being saved as NFD.

17. hidden files

    We use Box Drive for Backup purposes (company policy dos not allow any other product for that purpose). Would be great to have a possibility to upload also the hidden config files which are marked with a dot in front of the filename (e.g. .abc-config) using macbook.

19. Add installer flag to disable first launch after install

    Admins deploying Box Drive may want to push out Box Drive to users who are currently using their machine and do not want to alarm users with Box Drive suddenly appearing post-install.

    Add an installer flag admins can use to disable the post-install launch. Box Drive will auto-launch at the user's next login
