1. Support for Pasting Multiple Email Addresses in Box Hubs and Box AI Features

   When selecting “Enable for selected users and groups,” I noticed that the text area for entering email addresses does not support pasting multiple email addresses at once. Currently, it requires entering each address individually, either by typing or pasting one by one, which is time-consuming when enabling the feature for multiple users.

   Would it be possible to enhance this functionality to allow pasting multiple email addresses at once, similar to how collaborators can be invited to folders?

2. Ability to provision user zone through IDP

   Currently we have a number of different zones that we have for our users. When users come into the company we have to manually update those zones to ensure that data resides in their countries. We would like to provision this with our IDP so that when a user comes onboard, we can send the zone along with the task to create the user and remove the manual task. We currently add to groups and set a number of other things but zone is not one that is available.

3. Usage stats per region of the world (Global stats)

   We have global offices / teams dispersed globally. Admin teams currently have no way to monitor Box usage broken down by these teams (workaround suggestion is to create groups by office, but lots of admin overhead).

   Suggestion is to use localization settings, IP address, or Box regional setting and categorize by country or region (Europe, APAC, LATAM, NATAM, etc.) to allow admins to report on usage stats by global region. (heat map of the world, etc.) Current reports with an additional column/filter.

4. Improve Sharing Sidebar UI

   In the Sharing Sidebar, how about moving "Shared Link" and "File Request" to the top and then using all that sidebar real estate down the right side to allow a longer list of permissions to be seen without having to click into the Collaborators menu? Will make reviewing/managing permissions by folder more efficient. Alternatively, instead of "+10 People, + 2 Groups," why not describe that menu: "Full Collaborator List" or something like that.

6. Detailed List of Managed Users in Tenant

   We would like the option to view a detailed list of managed users in tenant that has all the information of the following that is provided in the Admin Console's Users & Groups":

   1. User Account Details
   2. User Access Permission

   In the case of a large enterprise with many users registered,
   this would greatly help check and sort through each user's permissions conveniently without having to click each user's profile.

   (Currently, neither "List enterprise users" API nor "User Details" report provide for this use case.)

   While Box allows export of content under Legal Hold, the workflow lacks Boolean search capabilities to refine the export dataset. Users can’t currently apply logical conditions like AND, OR, NOT, or grouping filters (e.g., "contract AND 2023" OR "proposal NOT draft") before exporting files. This limitation forces bulk exports and requires manual filtering post-download.

   Proposed Enhancement:
   Integrate Boolean search operators into the Legal Hold export interface.

   Allow users to construct logical queries across file content, metadata, filename, custodian, date range, and folder path.

   Enable advanced filters: (“Project A” AND “budget”) OR (“legal hold” NOT “archived”).

   Display matching results with export checkboxes and preview options.

   Log applied search filters and export actions for compliance auditing.

8. I want the folder selection screen to be sorted by name.

   When you press [Select Folder] in the [Folder Collaboration] item
   The folders are not sorted by name, making it difficult to find. I would like to be able to sort or sort by name.

9. Using Box with FTPS and MFA

   We would like to use automated scripts to upload files to Box using FTPS. We would also like MFA enabled for our internal users. Box has advised that:
   1. They do not provide service accounts to facilitate this
   2. They do not allow per-user control over MFA settings
   3. The process to login when MFA is enabled is manual and cannot be automated.
   4. FTPS only works with SMS MFA

   We would like the following product enhancements:
   1. Automated MFA Support: The ability for automated scripts to interact with MFA, perhaps through a secure token-based system or service account that doesn't compromise security but allows for the necessary automation.
   2. User-Specific MFA Settings: The capability to enforce MFA selectively for certain users or groups, allowing for automated scripts to run under specific, controlled conditions.

   We believe these features would benefit many of your clients who require both stringent security measures and efficient automated processes.

10. We would like to search by the entered email address from the selected user in the drop-down list.

    Recently, a new feature has been added to the Admin Console, allowing users to filter by selecting 'External Users' and 'Unmanaged Users' from the drop-down list in the 'Users & Groups' tab. This is a fantastic improvement.

    We would like to request the following three additional enhancements:

    1) When 'External Users' is selected from the drop-down list, it should be possible to search by email address in the top search field, and the results should display only 'External Users'.

    2) When 'Unmanaged Users' is selected from the drop-down list, it should be possible to search by email address in the top search field, and the results should display only 'Unmanaged Users'.

    3) The search results should indicate whether they are for 'External Users' or 'Unmanaged Users'.

11. Symlinks in Box to Solve Core Content Organizational Problems.

    Box needs symlink support to solve this fairly standard problem that likely happens in every company.

    Let's say you manage a team, and you have a team folder and a team structure for how you like to organize and store your files. Inside of that folder are meeting notes, projects, architecture documents, demo recordings, Hiring/Interview Documents and more.

    The problem is, eventually the...

    • HR team grows and wants to standardize on everyone's interview documents, hiring panels, and more, so they tell you where to put these sorts of files.
    • Architecture team grows, and they now want all architecture-related files and documents in a certain structure
    • So on and so forth.

    Now as a team, you can't store your files in the structure / organization that you want, and your files are now scattered into a bunch of other structures that you don't own. The closest "solution" is collections, but that's basically just a bookmark link for a single person. It's not good enough.

    What should happen, is either the Architecture/HR/Other teams make symlinks into your folder structures, or the reverse so that all groups of people can organize content in their own desired way.

    This is a core feature of content organization and Box needs to support it.

    Extend the Box API Collaborations Endpoint to Support "Accepted" Status Filter

    Current Endpoint Description:
    The current Box API endpoint for retrieving collaborations (GET /collaborations) supports filtering by collaboration status, but it is limited to the status=pending parameter. This allows users to retrieve only pending collaboration invitations for files and folders. The endpoint is documented at:

    Proposed Enhancement:
    Extend the GET /collaborations endpoint to include support for the status=accepted filter, enabling developers to retrieve all active (accepted) collaborations on files and folders owned by a specific Box user. This enhancement would improve the ability to manage and audit active collaborations, providing visibility into which users or groups have access to specific content.

    Already filed an enhancement request with the SDK team (https://github.com/box/box-dotnet-sdk-gen/issues/498). Since the underlying API endpoint currently only supports retrieving "pending" collaborations, the SDK team is unable to implement this on their end. Therefore, submitting the feature request here, as it requires a backend API change.

14. Privileged user audit controls

    We would like to request a feature enhancement please to provide a new email alert to be triggered to a specified group of users when a global enterprise search is performed by a privileged Box admin user from the Box admin console.

    We had an insider attack last year which included theft, abuse of privileges, credit card fraud and more. One of the methods he used was to perform enterprise level searches (credit cards, passports, drivers licences) across the whole Box environment.

    Whilst we can manually look for these events via a report, this is far to slow to catch an incident in real time. Currently we are not able to close this gap unless we spend lots of time and effort integrating the search event to another SIEM product.

    To take this a step further we would like to request an alert for when regular users access (view, download) Personal Identifiable Information (PII).

    Kindly consider our enhancement request as part of your next release.

16. Need for Retaining and Utilizing EXIF Data when Uploading Photos to box.com and Box Drive

    I have been managing my photos on my PC and I'm considering migrating them to Box for better organization and accessibility. However, I've encountered a significant obstacle - the important EXIF data associated with my photos, such as the capture date and time, is lost once the photos are saved in a Box folder. This issue persists whether I upload the photos directly from the browser or through other methods.

    I'm using Box Drive on Windows, and I've noticed that the property values also disappear in Explorer. Interestingly, when I moved the same file out of Box Drive, the property values were restored, suggesting that they are merely hidden. I'd like to request that, at the very least on Windows, property values such as EXIF are made accessible according to Windows specifications.

    The EXIF data is crucial to my workflow as I rely on it for tasks like sorting and grouping photos based on the capture date. I believe many other users could also benefit from having this information available, as it could significantly enhance the organization and searchability of photos within Box. Besides, utilizing additional EXIF information can also open up new possibilities for managing and organizing photos.

    I have attempted to create a metadata template using the EXIF property names as a workaround, but it hasn't proven to be an effective solution.

    Hence, I would like to request the Box team to consider the feature to retain and utilize EXIF data when photos are uploaded. This feature would greatly enhance the user experience and functionality of Box for those of us who manage large photo libraries.

    For security or operational reasons, it is common for a single enterprise to operate multiple Box tenants. However, when an organization's internal user scope ("company") is defined by its Enterprise ID (EID), users from these separate-but-related tenants are treated as external collaborators.

    This creates significant problems and reduces usability:

    Shared Link Restrictions: Users from a related tenant cannot access links shared with the "People in your company" permission level.

    Group Collaboration Issues: It is not possible to invite groups from a related tenant to collaborate on content.

    Reduced Security and Convenience: Collaborators from related tenants are flagged as "external," which can trigger stricter security policies (e.g., via Box Shield) and create unnecessary friction for users who are, in reality, internal employees.

    These limitations force administrators to use less secure sharing methods or manage a complex web of individual invitations, undermining the benefits of having separate tenants in the first place.

    Proposed Solution
    Develop a feature that allows administrators to designate other specific Enterprise IDs as part of their internal organization.

    This "Tenant Federation" or "Trusted EID List" would enable all users across the federated tenants to be treated as a single "company." By implementing this, the following would be possible:

    Users from trusted tenants could seamlessly access "People in your company" shared links.

    Collaboration invitations could be extended to user groups across all federated tenants.

    Security and governance policies (like those in Box Shield) could be applied consistently to all users within the true organizational boundary, removing the "external collaborator" status for trusted colleagues.

    This would provide a secure and efficient way to manage collaboration across the complex structures of modern enterprises.
