  1. Block users from placing content into File Explorer locations that they don't have rights to within Box

The current user experience can be confusing to the user, because they are able to place files into File Explorer even though they don’t have rights within Box to write to that location. Box Drive does issue notices that the files are not syncing to the server; however, this can still create an issue for novice users, since the files still exist within File Explorer and allow the user to make changes to the files locally. It would be preferred if Box Drive blocked the user from placing anything into that location within File Explorer.

  2. Provide read-only scope for user information

I'd like to provide our central identity management team a way to tell whether or not a given Box user has a > 0 byte usage before they delete the user's account (for example, as someone leaves our organization). I'd like to give them read-only API access to https://api.box.com/2.0/users, without giving them any additional access. Support tells me that this isn't currently possible. It'd be nice if it was--this could be useful for a number of other uses, too, such as reporting.

  3. Content Manager should be content-based instead of user-based

Request from healthcare customer: Instead of Content Manager being organized by user, then showing their folder structures and content within that user, Content Manager should be a direct reflection of the organization's folder structure in a tree view that allows the admin to have an understanding of what is in their tenant, root level folders, and then if you click on an individual folder, you can see the corresponding users and content within.

  4. Add column for Modified date, and allow sorting on it.

It would be really handy to be able to add a column for and sort based on "Modified date" field. Currently the "Updated" column is not useful if you are doing content migrations from outside sources. While the files maintain the "modified date", they get an "Updated date" of the day it was migrated.

We are considering migrating our existing LAN contents to Box. Our users frequently need to sort on last modified date. We are uploading all data to Box and retaining the original date stamps where possible. Sorting is key.

  5. Not inviting a user on a single file via SFC when the user is already collaborated through group

Currently, when single file collaboration (SFC) happens where an invited user is collaborated via Group, it doesn't catch the fact that the user already has an access permission

  6. User Activity report to filter Sign activity by folder

When running the User Activity report for Sign activity, you cannot apply the folder parameter. If the folder parameter is used, then the report will generate empty since Sign activity is reported at the "enterprise level" instead of the "folder level."

Requesting that this report allows the folder parameter to pull Sign activity to prevent the need to manually filter the report post-export.

We are re-designing the managed users page and will focus on adding advanced filtering of managed users by status as a follow up. Right now, releasing the re-design will be our first priority, so filtering by status is not on the near-term
(6 month) roadmap. We will revisit this after we release the new page.

  9. Unmanaged User feature should be more prominent (UX tweak)

It would be helpful if the Unmanaged Users management feature was more prominent. when trying to add a new managed user, if a matching unmanaged user already exists, an error is displayed and no other information given. I had to fumble to figure out why, partly because the feature isn't obvious. Suggestion: change the External Users tab name to External & Unmanaged Users, and add an Unmanaged Users button next to External users. Or, simply display them all but with the unmanaged users highlighted somehow. It is non-intuitive partly because external is interpreted…

  10. Function to disable the display of the login authentication screen for Box for Microsoft Office co-editing features on a per-user basis.

The following is a request regarding the seamless login feature.
    https://support.box.com/hc/ja/articles/44224534926355

To avoid displaying the login authentication screen, we understand that enabling the co-editing feature for only certain users in the tenant settings will resolve the issue.
However, if the number of users enabling or disabling the co-editing feature increases, managing user and group additions or removals through tenant settings each time becomes extremely cumbersome and impractical.
Implementing this feature enables end users to handle issues immediately on their own, reducing the burden on administrators.

    下記シームレスログイン機能に関する要望です。
    https://support.box.com/hc/ja/articles/44224534926355

  11. Filter unmanaged users who have not been collaborated in the user detail report.

    Content:
Currently, the user detail report cannot filter unmanaged users who have not been collaborated,
and it is necessary to check while cross-referencing with the user list on the Users and Groups screen.
Additionally, the unmanaged user list on the Users and Groups screen can take up to 24 hours to reflect changes,
which may cause discrepancies with the information at the time of report output, reducing operational efficiency.
I request the implementation of a feature that can filter unmanaged users who have not been collaborated.

  12. Easily identify folders owned by an individual user via Content Manager

I have a need to determine what folders are owned by a certain person and wanted to know the easiest way to get that information. When viewing under Content Manager I see all the folders the person has access to but cannot filter it for the one she owns. I also tried running the Folders and Files report but am getting an error.

For example, I need to look up all folders owned by one user in order to change them after a name change.

  13. Force Box Drive to sync status with Box every time file is touched .

for example: User A locks a file, User B opens the file in drive (the lock status still hasn’t sync’d down user’s machine yet)
User B edits the file and tries to save but Drive will show that it wasn’t able to save back the change to box and creates a problematic file.
User B closes the file, and then reopens the file. The change User B made still shows up.
Onedrive checks for the latest status every time it opens a file or when you try to save a file it will sync status with what is in…

  14. View saved reports generated by other users

Currently, a co-admin can view reports run by other users, but not save reports created by other users. We would like our IT Service Desk to create on demand monthly reports that we would provide to some of our content owners. This would require all members of our IT Service Desk to have visibility over all existing scheduled reports

  16. Ability for users to track activity

In the Closed configuration ,Only admins and co-admins can track activity on the files listed at the URLs below.
    Users cannot be tracked.
If users can export reports, they can perform on themselves statistical analysis.
As a result, it becomes possible to actively use Box.
So I want users to be included in the targets that can be exported.

  17. Add additional user reporting without "Export User" report

There is currently no way to report on Users besides the export user option which exports the entire list of users in the enterprise along with a lot of useful details.

It would be very useful if admins could generate reports with the options in the sort by on the webapp. While we can use the sort by on the web, exporting the users provides more details on one screen admins can review that the webapp does not provide unless you drill into each user.

For example, ability to export users (along with current details…

We don’t have any plans to make user reporting available in the webapp at the moment.

  18. External User Box Access Workflow

We'd like a modification to the external user workflow and change the text of "Not a part of <Company Name> Company"

Many external users click the "Part of <Company Name>" button as they assume incorrectly this is the proper path as they are doing business with the Company.

There is room for improvement on either the current text, addition of clarifying text, or a modified workflow.

  19. Salesforce integration to support Salesforce platform user licenses

The Box for Salesforce integration installation guide and FAQ state that the integration only works if Salesforce users have a full "Salesforce" user license. This is a deal breaker for many organizations that have Salesforce users with the more affordable Salesforce "Platform" user license.

Since the integration supports custom Salesforce objects, I don't see why the full Salesforce licenses would be required for each user. I would understand if the integration user (Box service account) needs a full Salesforce license, but individual users should be able to use this integration with a Salesforce platform license. Platform…

  20. Choosing access permission of a user by the network (IP)

We want Box service to be able to control the access permission to the file within the same user by the access source (network, device, etc.).

    Example:
-When accessed from an internal network, access permission is "Editor", and when accessed from an external network, this user becomes "Previewer".
-Although "Editor" can be performed from a corporate PC, only "Preview" can be performed from a private PC.
