1. Automatic Size All Columns to Fit for Box Drive

   It would be great if all columns in the box drive could be automatically expanded so that file names are not cut off. This feature is available in another product that we used.

2. Allow login to Box Drive from different Microsoft account

   It used to be possible to log into Box Drive from my work account whilst logged in as a different Microsoft user on the desktop. This has now stopped working and forces login via my desktop account. This means that Box Drive is now completely useless to me.

4. Box Drive - All files organization

   Box Drive does not currently allow for organization of your All Files folder.

   To reorganize or move folders on this screen, it actively moves the folders, which isn't always possible. Due to different staff members requiring access to only portions of each folder, we cannot bunch together certain folders that would otherwise belong together.

   For the all files screen, Box should implement a way to label and organize folders for your own personal box, that does not affect where the files are located and how they are shared. There is a way to do this with the collections list on the side bar, but it is small and challenging to look at, and would be more effective if it was a full screen option.

   Box Drive does not currently allow for organization of your All Files folder.

5. Add tag support for OSX files in Box Drive

   File color labels (tags) in OSX do not work on Box Drive.

   Competing cloud storage platforms (like Dropbox) easily handle this.

   In a MacOS team production workflow, tags are essential for production processes. Labels allow effortless communication to other team members on the status of file production. This is an industry-standard way of working which is totally broken in Box Drive.

   Please review the many MANY past requests for this feature in these forums. It is a long-standing issue that deserves attention!

6. Trigger a Box error when insufficient permissions to open a file in Box Drive

   Right now, if you attempt to open a file from your Box Drive that you do not have download permissions to, it will throw a local application error and not a Box error indicating a permission issue.

   From the end user perspective, this would indicate there was something wrong with this file or Box Drive failed to open.

7. Change in handling of file uploads in Box Drive

   I would like Box Drive to treat an upload as an upload, not a copy, even if a file with the same hash value exists in the range to which I have access.

8. Controlling the Visibility of External Collaboration Folders in Box Drive via Admin Settings

   We would like administrators to be able to control the visibility of external folders in Box Drive via the Admin Console.

   When using Box Drive, the following security risks exist:
   ・Risk of data leakage due to user error: Files or folders may be accidentally dragged and dropped into external collaboration folders.
   ・Risk of ransomware spreading to external tenants: If a user falls victim to ransomware, the encryption attack may also affect external collaboration folders belonging to other companies.

   We would like administrators to be able to control the visibility of external folders in Box Drive via the Admin Console. Rather than users configuring this themselves, we want administrators to be able to enforce the hiding of external collaboration folders through Admin settings.
   ・Control scope: the enterprise level and the group level.
   ・Target: External Folders
   ・Control details: Toggle display/hide on Box Drive (access remains available via the web app)
   ・Configuration permissions: Only administrators can change settings (end users cannot make changes)
   ・Scope of application: All users at once, or on a per-user or per-group basis

   [How it works when implemented]
   ・When an administrator enables “Hide External Folders,” only internal company folders will be displayed in the end user’s Box Drive.
   ・Access to external collaboration folders remains possible via the Box web app (ensuring business continuity).

9. Allow users to manually prompt Box Drive upgrade from the Drive menu.

   If a user's machine is running, they will receive the prompt to upgrade to a new version, even if they are not actively using their machine. This will cause users to miss the upgrade prompt for 24 hours.

   We would ask that messaging is added to the Drive menu letting a user know that a "new version is available." If they click this, they will again receive the prompt to upgrade.

10. Adding more functionality of Box Drive enhancements into the Admin Console

    My customer has deployed Box Drive out to most of their employees and it has been widely adopted across their organization. What they are now having trouble with is that there are security concerns when it comes to their employees having personal Drive accounts so they want to the functionality built in to Admin Console to force log out their users in Box Drive - as of right now many of the Admin functionality relate to Box Sync and Admins do not have the option to make changes on the Box Drive functionality

11. Box Drive folders should automatically refresh when you open them.

    When you open a folder in Box Drive, it should automatically refresh that folder. There's no scenario where you're opening a folder and you WANT an older version of it. If you're opening it, you intend to interact with it somehow, and in order to do so effectively you must have the most up to date version of its contents. Manually refreshing is tedious.

    I would like to see version update added to the right-click menu of the app so that I can manually update when the latest version of BoxDrive is released.

    Currently, Box Edit and Box Drive are designed to automatically update their versions, but depending on the user, the timing of implementation may be delayed or there may be cases where the version is not automatically updated.
    In order to deal with this, we have to uninstall and reinstall the tool, which is very inconvenient.
    Therefore, I would like to see version update added to the right-click menu of the app so that I can manually update it when a new version is released.

13. Manage Permissions directly on the folder in Box Drive

    Add ability to review/manage colloborators on Box folders through right click on context menu of Box Folder, when Box Drive is online. It's not efficient to go into Box Online to do this .

14. Collaborator files from Box Drive not showing up on Box.com

    Ever since we updated our systems to macOS Ventura we've encountered many issues with Box Drive, now we are not seeing files from other collaborators that they report to have synced showing up on other peoples Drive or on Box.com at all. Box Drive has become unreliable lately, and users are being forced to manually upload files via desktop to ensure their files sync. Please fix!

15. Shield alerting admins when users "download" from Box Drive

    A customer is reporting difficulty using Box Shield’s Anomalous Download detection due to how downloads are currently defined when Box Drive is in use. Box Shield flags a “download” whenever a user expands or opens a folder in Box Drive. As a result, routine navigation actions are recorded as downloads, creating noise in the anomaly signals. The customer is asking whether anomalous download detection can be refined to trigger only on intentional file downloads (e.g., explicit download actions), rather than folder expansion or passive access via Box Drive.

16. Ability to view the contents of the login page on the login screen on Box Drive

    Currently, the login page settings that exist in the tenant settings are only visible in the web browser, not in Box Drive.
    Since many of our tenants use Box Drive, we would like to display the contents of the login page on the login screen on Box Drive as well.

17. Ability to see and access bookmarks in Box Drive

    Bookmarks: I store a lot of bookmarks in Box. This bookmarks are not visible in the folder structure on my laptop (links seems not to be stored as files). As a consequence e.g. bookmark titles are only searchable via Box browser interface but not via Windows search functionality within explorer

19. Box Drive - Prompt Users to Lock Files When Opening Files from Box Drive

    For Box Drive, it would be nice to have the option to lock files when you take them offline. For example, when a you choose "Make Available Offline", Box could prompt you with "Do you want to lock these offline files?" So, you remember to lock the files while you still have online access to the them.
